Cobray makes a cameo appearance in the OG1 portion of OGs. He actually hints at being unable to exist in that universe, although that may just have meant that he needed to wait for something else. After all, the Astranagant is clearly one of the twelve keys that are hinted at being the center of the OG series' plot.
It's been a while since I played it, but I believe it was implied that the Earth Cradle faction never really sprang up in the SM universe. More importantly, enough key plot points were used for the Earth Cradle subplot in OG2 that it wouldn't really work out to just bring them all back to redo the whole thing with just a few differences.

How did "that" become the core of the Aurgelmir...And what happened to Ingram in this storyline? I mean I don't see how "that" becomes the core without Ingram in it.
@MetalSonicMkIV Uh that IS the real Zengar. Sledgelmir is terrible in Alpha Gaiden. Even worse is after you fight him as a boss and he has range 9 boost knuckle and when you get him its far weaker and range 3 or something.

The Atlus translation doesn't exactly follow previously printed official translations either, like "Bullet" vs "Brit". I played OG@G when it was new, there was no reason in the text to suppose the name was "Sanger", not "Zengar", so I say Zengar. Also, 'Z's make any name sound cooler.

Alpha Gaiden takes place several hundred years in the future of the Alpha series, so what happens in OG2 is actually preventing this from taking place in the OG universe. They free Sophia from Magus before it completely takes her over, so the Aurgelmir is never created. Also, shame on you for picking Excellen over both Sanger AND Ratsel.

In the @ Gaiden continuity, they(the bad guys) find the Astranagat floating in space. It is placed in this mech as a black box.
