Your first tip almost made me faint 😭😭 in the last 30 days I’ve spent 1320.18 on fast food and going out. As a student I’ve literally run myself broke:( this is the wake up I needed!!!

@@DyanaMariie OMG, for real! It's wild. I searched for this video because I’m trying to gain control of my weight. I didn’t even think about how much money I’ve been spending on fast food. Thank you for your video
Before I watched your video I kept telling myself “calculate how much you’ve spend on fast food the past three months” I was completely heartbroken by the results. But this only motivates me to move forward ! Thank you for the video and advice 👏
We were never really fast food people, haven't touched it in easily over 10 years. However, we were eating out at restaurant, café and bistro people. When we started our debt-free journey at the start of this year and added things up we realised we were spending upwards of $1500 a month eating out. . .that was enough to open our eyes and get back to cooking, which we really enjoy doing. Now we eat out once, maybe twice a month for our budget meetings - a time to sit down half way through the month to talk about how things are going and at the end of the month to talk about how we did and any changes for the next month. Has helped us heaps in tackling our debt and we are on track to be debt-free by the end of the year except for the mortgage!
fast food addiction is the worst addiction, but also planning out the meals never works out as scheduleed :(( I am a total mess :)) this is such useful information especially during this pandemic :)
This is my second time coming back to your video. I was so confident I’d change the first time I watched your video and I did for about a month, I got stressed and went back to the same nasty habit of over spending monthly on fast food. 😞 it’s so discouraging. I just don’t want to cook everyday, be a wife, and a mom of two, in school full time and work full time. I’m tired but I think I’m more tired of watching how much my triggers and lack of accountability is causing me to waste money. 😢 Plus it doesn’t help that every social media acct I’m on shows someone doing a mukbang or eating something I feel I need to try. 😩
I'm at about $400-$600/ month on eating out. I'm single with no kids. Working 2 jobs, staying active doesn't give me alot of time to be at home to cook, but I'm working on it because these student loans GOTTA GO ! 🙌🏾😩🙏🏽
I'm so ashamed of myself. When I was looking over what I spend on food, I would spend my entire paycheck on food. From April of last year to April of this year, I spent over 20,000 dollars on food and I'm up to 300 pounds. I never been this heavy and broke. God please help me!
I’m a student and working part time. I think I spent like $250 a month on fast food. Thank you for this! I’m in distress lmao but will make big changes!
Yesss! I budget $15 for food for the week so $60 a month and that’s only for my child! I started buying in bulk and prepped a lunch bag for her filled with snacks to avoid buying food. We’ve done great so far. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve been tracking my spending with a zero based budget since February and BY FAR the most of control spending I have is with fast food. Ive aleady cut down, but the addiction is REAL. Going cold turkey was a big fail. Scheduling the day(s) is definitely a strategy I’m going to use.
I do intermediate fasting I do great for morning time. I don't eat intill 1pm. And I drink green juice and a sizeable breakfast. At lunch I'm trying to eat chicken salad. So for in 2 weeks I eat 7/15 days salad instead of other food. But my main weakness is after work I like getting fast food. 😩 literally if I did not get fast food I would have lost like 15 pounds by now.
ive been trying to break a habit ive built for take out food i usually get 2 or 3 times a week which includes my partner who gets it once then i buy twice didnt realise how bad i was till i realise i spend $429.00 on take out a month!!!!
Thank You Dyana I hope you are well. I've been trying to limit myself from eating out which has also been a struggle as I love being out. But I'll consider your tips and God bless you and your family
I am so bad at this, always have been. This is the year I NEED to sort this out and just eat at home. This month alone i've spent £170, i'd imagine i'll have spent around that every month tbh which is a shocking amount of money when I want to be clearing debt and saving for a house :(
Girl, £170 a month is not bad! Trust and believe on my bad months, I’ve spent up to £500 ALL on take away using apps like UberEats & Just Eat. I have a REAL BAD addiction 😭. My regular months tend to be £200-£300 if I’m being real with myself. I can’t help it, I’m literally addicted. When I try to talk to people about it, no one takes me serious because I’m still “fit” (I’m a gym gal). My fam & friends just say “ahh, you’ll be alright”. Like, no, imma be broke if I keep on 😂😩
I really like that prep list of groceries i'm going to have to create my own list, because everytime we go to the store, We end up spending more on groceries and some of them we wont even eat and end up throwing them out! thanks for the tips!
yes thank you not easy to do but i will that. writing down my expenses this would be easy. i like vegetables and other foods so that is not the problem. the problem is having to deal with more than one person in the household. my son and my parents that can be very expensive when you don't create the meal plans or don't always have the time. that can be a struggle for most parents. i may end up just buying food at a local store
My girlfriend loves to eat out all the time. It be a house full of groceries and she still wants to eat out, it’s sickening. Everyday it’s 100 dollars up up I’m trying to save for a house and she just have to go out.
As a black woman I am very glad to see my people managing there money the right way because black people are the poorest people in the world. I was at the bus terminal and this black homeless guy asked me did I have 10 pennies. But I notice the white homeless people never ask for money only the black homeless people. I was standing at the bus stop and it was this homeless black man and homeless white man , and the black guy started talking to me and after five minutes in our conversation he asked me. "Can I borrow your phone?" The white guy didn't ask me for nothing it's always black homeless people. We always need something.
I just calculated how much we spent on eating out for 2022...and it was so much it makes me sad/sick.😔 😟 🙁 I thought I was budgeting so well I am even more scared to check our grocery bill. Thank you for the tips.
im a 19 (basically 20) year old college student. i dont spend much on clothes, or hair or cosmetics. but maan i can spend $$ on food like everydays my last. i calculated my spending last month and it was 330 in fast food/eating out!! but i noticed i only spent about 50 for groceries and the meals i made lasted me so long with much produce and other ingredients left over!! when i go back to uni after break, my goal is to only doordash twice a month MAX!!
I use ChatGPT to plan meals and even to get a grocery list. Maximum I spend on groceries and restaurants together is no more than $300. My restaurant figure is high right because I’m going on dates. Otherwise it would be less than $200 a month which includes household items like bleach, shampoo, toilet paper, etc.
I calculated my takeaway/fast food earlier this year, and it was £450-£800 a month, I was horrified🫠 plus I didn’t even consider how much food I wasted in the fridge because I was buying takeaways instead of the ingredients I’d bought to cook

I have a question when you do a zero based budget and something happens that is a need but not like a emergency thing like a car repair you didn’t budget for do you pull from savings? I feel like something always comes up
Try to incorporate savings into your budget for specific sinking funds!
