Nice review James...I just bought a F 9 driver and it was a upgrade from the F 8 which I loved...Only thing was the shafts Cobra offered were different but since the shafts from F 8 will fit the F 9 now I have two good drivers to relay on if one gets lost or broken...As for the F 9 speed back it can wait till I see more of an improvement for myself...Thanks...
When the Speedzone was announced I was like "Great" now I want that one. I bought a F9 3-wood this summer and planned on buying the F9 driver next summer. I have never hit so many good shots then with the F9 3-wood. I absolutely love everything about the F9 3 wood. But I always want the newest and best. Now I would have to get the speedzone. Well, after watching your reviews along with other UA-cam golf channels I am back to being happy and glad cobra rolled out the Speedzone. Now I get the F9 driver for cheaper. F9 All the way!
I just bought the F9 for 263.00usd delivered. I dont like the 2 models, I think I would always question should I have bought the other one. Thats why I went with the F9.
I own the F9 myself and im more than happy with it. Hit some nice shots with it in the morning which im more than happy with. For me the F9 looks, Sounds and feels better. But thats just me. And if u have the Chance to still get a F9 for a reasonable price i would always go for it. The minimal increase in yard and maybe dispersion (which most likely goes Down with the Golfer) Is not worth the increase in Price in my opinion. Nice vid Mate. Keep it Up. 👍
great, been waiting for Cobra to bring out another driver so I could get the F9 at a reduced price....didn't think they could top it, but unfortunately they did....now I gotta wait another year or two and hope the next line looks like crap so I can get the speed zone reduced...
Really enjoyed the F9 when I got fitted for my M5 but like you James the numbers just weren't there. As for the SZ, I've spent my driver allowance for the next 5 years so it won't be going in the bag but I'll give it a wake if I get the opportunity.
I love the Cobra Fly Z driver, I really like the Cobra F8 driver because they would Fade for me and had very few surprises to the left. The Cobra F9 I did not like, it went bye bye after about two months because it just wants to go left, I could never trust it, so the F8 went back in the bag with the Fly Z sitting in the backup slot. I like Cobra brand golf equipment but must Fade and not go left, James I did like that your trial of the Speedzone did see to have a fade bios so I might try it, maybe.Good review, thanks.
Once again another cracking honest review, looking forward to trying the new cobra driver but unfortunately it won’t be until later on next year due to spending a lot of money lately on new irons, trolley and bag 😳
Speed zone appears to have a better refined face to help with ball speeds across the face. Sounds a bit better in my opinion as well. I'm in the market for a new driver and heavily considering the speed zone
Hi James, never miss a video however this is the first one with a thumbs down. I can understand why you would want to test the heads on the same shaft however this was a club test therefore how do we know if the shaft hasn't been improved and that could give you better dispersion/distance? Keep up the good work though
There still enough shafts available for both these heads that most fittings probably won’t end up in the standard shaft. If we think that there is enough of a difference that James should be using the provided shafts then he should be fitted for both. But if the head weights have changed significantly or CGs and balance points have changed to a point that shaft changes caused significant differences in yardages then the fittings would invalidate his UA-cam test because the majority of viewers would not stick through all of the description to set up that test.
Hi JamesI know this has nothing to do with this videoI have just realised that after buying a new pair of golf shoes I was constantly topping the ball but I took the insoles out and perfect well not perfect but better hitting the ball as I normally do is there a reason why? Also peed off cleaning my trolley and wheels after playing in the winter ! Maybe a video on the ultra light weight carry bags for seniors and what clubs to carry and will it give you a bad back?Cheers keep up the fantastic videosTony
Aesthetics do matter! That’s why I’m so eager to try this in the 3wd. I’m eager to put an Arctic white model in the bag if it performs as well ....or better than my F9! I love everything about my yellow F9 from a performance standpoint but I’ve been trying hard to convince myself it’s look are ok too. Truthfully, I don’t like the look much. I was always a Titleist fairway Wood guy, so I suppose this change was a little too extreme for me. I absolutely refuse to EVER give up those rails though. They work for me! Here’s hoping the speed zone finally gives me everything I want out of a fairway wood!
James another excellent review of these two clubs. Bearing in mind that on your current driver you use a shorter shaft, will you use your shorter shaft or stick with the shaft that is fitted? These are good clubs and also at a good price.
James i tried f9 along with g410 plus and ended up with g410 due to better dispersion on off centre hits. Only trouble is i have just taken delivery off my new forged tech irons and i really want a cobra driver to match 😁 so I'm going back to try the f9 and sz with a view to putting one in the bag in January. Obviously i won't get rid of my g410 as that's the best driver i have ever gamed but i really want a cobra as well now 😁
Bought the F9 a couple weeks ago for a huge discount 40% off. Traded in my F7, and pay even lower price. So far, loved the upgrade to the F9. However, I would happily take one if you are giving the SZ away.
not a lot of f9 vs speedzone comparisons out there.. but the numbers dont show the real difference. From my experience the f9 was erratic....not unforgiving but the shot profile would change dramatically with almost the same strike. low, high, spinny, not spinny. very weird. im seeing the speedzone is more consistent in ball flight and performance but not necessarily peak performance...
Hm. Would I? Could I? Should I? Yes, I WOULD go the (discounted ) F9. Yes, I certainly COULD go the (discounted) F9. No, I SHOULDn't go the (discounted) F9 - I should probably get fitted , for whichever driver was the best for me. But then, that discount WOULD cover the extra $150 to get fitted, which means I COULD probably justify the fitting, but if the fitting didn't recommend the F9 what SHOULD I do?
It’s been awhile since I watched a review of your James, but I thought you were in the 300 yard range? You lose speed in trade for more control? Great video mate! Also what are your thoughts on that simulator? I used to practice in one of those, wondering how it compares to other ones you’ve used
Just ordered my F9 from Cobra. Cost $249 with free shipping. I work at a golf course and could buy the SZ for $360 but still thought the F9 was a better buy. Not I can buy myself a new fairway wood.
Love where cobra is at in the game of golf, I want to be a cobra player but just can’t get passes the fact no one on tour plays cobra. What’s the deal??
Cobra products are cheaper than the tour brands specifically because they don't have to spend as much money as the bigger names on things like sponsoring players and marketing. If Cobra started doing that, you'd see their prices increase accordingly. They were able to keep the price of their drivers the same as last year's breakout. Compare that to, for example, TaylorMade's P790s which they've increased 24%.
Should you change it? Nope. If you have been fitted properly and you haven't changed drastically physically then the driver you bought 8 years ago is just fine. Maybe even earlier than that. The only real changes to drivers is the shaft is getting longer and the last thing a handicap golfer needs is more distance between their hands and the club face.
@@MJL-91 Wrong. I don't hate anything. It was a joke that you completely failed to see. Perhaps it's not me with the problem when it's you who reacted so negatively?
Hi James , Always watch your videos -- MAGIC --- keep it coming . Member of S.Mellion and Looe Golf Clubs in Cornwall, any time in the Cornish Rivera give me a e-mail and I will arrange . Both clubs are GREAT . Best, Barry .
Gotta say I disagree on the looks. I think the F9 makes more of a statement and I prefer the solid yellow portions rather then just the yellow lines. The SZ is more of a me too look and honestly looks like an older model to me. Maybe they received feedback to go more conservative. Got an F9 deeply discounted on its way. Can’t wait to hit bombs with it!
F9 was overhyped because of the price and not performance as you said it wasn’t as good as the other drivers from the big brands that came out this year
I got fitted and hit the F9 better than anything else I tried M6, Epic Flash, Rogue, G400. But for me only beat everything by about 2 yards. Loved the look and feel as well. And then price did come into play.
I'll be using my F9 for the next 5 years at least. Absolutely love it. Both great drivers.

I believe I read that part of the Infinity face design was to combat some construction issues that the F9 had where the milled face met the crown.
I own the F9 myself and im more than happy with it. Hit some nice shots with it in the morning which im more than happy with.

I bought the F9 this season. Long, Strong, and Gone !
I love my F9 but I got sweet deal for the Speedzone sooooo I'll be swapping both in the bag this season! :)

Agree completely. They design the head then match the stock shafts. Each head's "DNA" is different as TXG has shown.
There still enough shafts available for both these heads that most fittings probably won’t end up in the standard shaft. If we think that there is enough of a difference that James should be using the provided shafts then he should be fitted for both. Venturing into the world of Cobra would be a change and SZ would definitely be a great change 💪🏾
Happy with the F9 now I have the Grafalloy Blue shaft in it. Like the infinity face on SZ but not worth shelling out for performance wise.

If you take a longer backswing to parallel, I think you can reach 300 yards plus.
Speed, Speed and more speed seem to be he word of the day or year for this and other new drivers

I did not see much difference in performance from this year to last year in my dispersion. Sticking with my Epic Flash Sub-Zero

de chambeau , lexi Thompson, not bad players?!!
Fowler ?
Ricki Fowler and Bryson DeChambeau on other PGA are no one? Both are tournaments (plural) winners.
Speed zone all day the new face is much better looking James just like you🙀

Which one of the 6 drivers do you fancy this coming year? Nothing like hammering resale values by knocking out zillions of clubs.
Hairy Golfer typical TM hater literally most of the top brands release just as much or in callaways case more clubs every year

see Ricky Fowler using it today in the Presidents cup, Australia misses you Robbo
I can get over the looks if it performs better for me. But I get it. What's next James?
Speed and balance
When is the speed zone available in pro shops James?
paul johnston I believe mid January
@@legend9018 thanks mate👍
Speed The best yet
I don’t have an f9, so I would go with SZ xtreme
Please I do need a Cobra Driver.
I think there are still some better drivers out there for off centre hits
F9 can still be had for $349 with your choice of shafts.
