45 min realtime sunrise thru London’s Tower Bridge

This morning (Friday 3rd January 2025) was the first clear, cloudless dawn of the year here over the City of London and I think, judging by the weather maps, all of Greater London too. Living not far away and waking up at 7 I hopped out of bed like a loon and - with tripod and rucksack - grabbed a coffee from the caff, nipped over Tower Bridge, wished the nice chaps at the Tower gate a good new year (then remembered that I wasn’t in some sort of second-rate Mary Poppins ripoff) and set up my camera on a deserted Tower Pier.
Sunrise came at just after 8am today; the orange glow growing until it burst over the buildings beyond. Thames Clippers came and went - as did a couple of Port of London work boats.
At 45 minutes I decided I’d extracted all the possible fun that I could from this situation; my fingers were cold and I had work to get on with. Home by quarter past nine, for toast. (And work).
