Ulrich (aka 'The Streamlined Man') on piano, who did the arrangement. “In the mid-seventies, Dr. E. J. Ulrich was my one-man university. His influence was gentle, friendly and nurturing." - MH
One of my favorites from Michael. His gifts were many and varied. I can't help but wonder if the notation for this arrangement for piano and flute is stuffed-away somewhere in a drawer or box somewhere in Mendocino, gathering dust. Beautiful rendition! I keep coming back to listen again and again.
Thane Hedges, Michael's dad, was department head of the Speech and Hearing program at Phillips, a speech therapist, not a pastor.

And from what i heard from my dad was that
these guys were really like ~

And i wish that i could’ve heard, especially Thaddeus~
‘cause i saw a picture of him, he really looked the part.
So about a year ago~ i was watching Charlton Heston in Cecil B. DeMille’s
“TEN COMMANDMENTS” + i was thinking WOAH- man~ Arnold Schwarzenegger, he doesn’t have anything on Charlton Heston ~ as Moses. 👨🏻🦳 ~ ~ ~
Anyway, this song is for my grandfather and his dad, Thaddeus.

This is a very interesting arrangement. Hedges was amazing!
I like how the original has that backwards, undulating, synth sound from the underworld but this almost takes on the life of a fugue.
