    If you can't do the things you love, then what's life for? You're a true testament to that and I'm glad to see you maintaining perspective. I watched a ride of the century video and saw a rider on a wheelie, dragging a foot and noticed that his leg was a prosthetic below the knee. I couldn't help but wonder whether he lost his leg while doing stunts on a motorcycle. There was a pro football player that literally died on the football field, for a brief moment. The moment that player was returned to good health, he was anxious to get back out there and play again. There are countless examples of people getting injured and having near death experiences doing the things they enjoy, and going right back to that activity as soon as they're able. I hope you do get enough mobility back in your arm to ride with both hands again, but happy to see you continuing to enjoy riding whether or not that happens.

      If you can, give a CanAm a try. A lot of us older riders who have knee problems find the three wheeled CanAms breathe new life into our riding careers because you don't have to balance the bike at a stop. I thought I'd never ride a 3-wheeler, but when faced between the choices of not riding or three-wheels, the decision became easy.

    Hello, Dutch viewer here!
    I stumbled across your channel from your previous video, and amazed to see how you dealt with the past and present.
    A lot of respect and admiration for you, and not letting the incident effect you from going back driving.
    The Bible verse on your arm also feels fitting, and glad to hear God and family are with you!
    I'll be turning 24 later this year (here, when you are 24 and pass exams you may drive all bikes legally right away!) and planning to take lessons and getting my bike license, and seeing your videos just makes it more exciting! Your bike looks great fun, and the place you drive looks lovely.
    And for your questions, been pretty warm here. Had some colder days and more like 4°C most of time during the days, but like today around 7°C is really warm.
    For your content, like this video is really fun to watch and listen to your story, love the fun edits as well trough out!
    I hope you had a healthy and blessed holidays and wish you to a great 2025! God bless!

    1. I'd like to see you go moto camping with a Grom! How you would plan and pick routes that are smoother or less elevation. How to handle roads that do have some roughness. I'd like to see some rides with another Grom.
    2. What can we do to sway you to get a jacket with elbow and shoulder pro? Poly ones aren't that expensive and once you have it, you'll hardly notice the effort to put it on. With asymmetric handlebar pressure even 3 mph turns over a low curb can make you more prone to front wheel tucks. Yeah, you don't want to hear it, but how about at least entertaining the idea? We can be stubborn too. You can cut one of the sleeves, tuck it and sow it, as well as one size up in the chest to accommodate the arm. There's full mesh ones that come with pro for warm days.
    3. You can make a wide strap using a velcro closure to go under an armpit and over the shoulder to hold the socket firmly for bumps. You can even have it sown into the jacket pro you're going to get. :) Damn man, I'll pay for the custom tailoring to make it happen. Send me a paypal email for the bill. You're an inspiring dude.

      I picked up some heated liners for my jacket, pants and gloves. They plug into an outlet I wired to my battery. It's a game changer. On level 3 (of 10), I was toasty on the highway in near freezing weather. $600 for a full set, but once you have it, you can't even imagine riding in the cold without it.

    • @Scoopyyy
      @Scoopyyy 24 дні тому +1

      @@schrodingersmechanic7622 I did install heated grips a while ago and they serve me well! I should just invest in some cold weather gear and I'll probably be fine. Right now I'm riding in summer gear which holds up surprisingly well down to 7 degrees celsius when I wear a thick hoodie underneath. You won't see me riding when the ground is freezing anyways, just as a safety precaution 🥶

    bro you should look into automatic motorcycles or see if you can mod groms to do that. most of the time they come as automatic and manual so if you ever get bored of automatic you can go back to manual. automatic is really nice for doing long drives

    Personally curious on what your next plans are in terms of making riding more comfortable, like a bike with DCT, the type of gear you would use, Figuring out blinkers, etc

    • @nckgti7
      @nckgti7  26 днів тому +1

      I’m looking at the cb650r with Hondas e-clutch, or an xsr900 with it quickshifter and autoblipper (I’d still have to move the clutch to the right). I personally want to avoid dct or auto trans bikes because I enjoy the feeling of shifting gears. I’m looking for people out kits that can house the blinkers on the right somewhere… pants is not a problem for gear, but the jacket will take some finesse

    A few months ago I hit a cone on the highway with only Vans on and hurt my foot pretty bad… nothing like your accident.
    Not going to lie, getting back on the bike and riding at night kinda scary.
    I’ve done it a few times after healing up, but it’s not the same. I’m not going to sell the bike and stop riding, hoping in time the trepidation goes away

    It's freezing here in Germany. I shouldve driven more in the summer because now im somehow getting so much motivation to drive again. I drove a few times in the cold and its alright. But the fear of slipping out of corners is so real, im taking every one of them like a snail. My first little acident after two months of riding was exactly that. I slipped out on an intercection in Oktober at very low speeds (20 kmh). So yeah, i think my fear is justified

    Good to see your still okay and positive i think life is all about punishment were here for a reason in the first place so anything not bad happening should be looked at like a good thing rather then just geting through normal life, i think we all need to be good examples of what everyone should be like riding only in a safe place where we check out the road surface first and find good roads on google maps that are safe and of course doing everything were suppost to in life and givng advice to anyone we cab help, is living in a way that works for all of us and we can all be like that and the world will work, it makes sence for us to all try and be like that as much as we can.

    The gear problem seems like a tough one. I imagine many major brands wouldn't be trying to design for easy of fitting. I'm interested in what you're able to find that works for you. If there aren't many people riding with one functioning arm that also share this kind of information, it would make for a great resources for anyone that would have a need for it later.

    Weather out here in Florida is well actually nice. Not a humidity kinda dude. People out here drive like a bunch of idiots. We had so many accidents out here over the holidays. So many people blow through red lights and exceed every speed limit lol. As far as video ideas it would be cool to see your riding setup. From my understanding your clutch and gear shifter is on your left and your brakes and throttle are on your right. Curious how it’s done for you. I talked with AI and got these. Video ideas: 1) Mental Health and Coping Strategies- Share your journey of dealing with your trauma and adapting through them with us. 2) Advocacy and awareness: Highlighting issues faced by people with disabilities for better accessibility and inclusivity. 3) Skill sharing workshop: Offering virtual workshops to teach adaptive riding skills or other life skills you’ve mastered. 4) feature stories of others overcoming similar challenges, building a supportive network. 5) Adaptive gear reviews: I think this could include possibilities of seeing what products could work for you, maybe even would you consider trying out robotic assistance in the future. 6) Maintenance and modifications on your bike along with riding tips and tutorials. 7) Daily life and challenges: how you overcome the challenges you see in your life now whether its getting gas at the pump to tackeling school work or family. 8) I like your words of wisdom at the end of the video its promotes awareness and I agree we are all in this together and no main characters, well not all think that lol. Also ChatGPT has that audio feature you can talk with that I did and it had some decent ideas. Great vid boss as usual!

Because I do have that "that guy" mentality I've been track riding a long time and I think that is why... but anyways happy I saw it because mabye I shouldn't even if I really want too because sometimes I cannot control myself. Mabye ill get a 600cc instead of my usually 1k. Also its cold af here in PA highs are 30 and lows are around 15.

    Why not get rid of the arm completely? I might also opt for the skin grafts if I thought I may regain function in my arm, but if I knew it was going to be dead weight, then I'd probably ask them to amputate and leave my thigh skin alone. Did you have a hope of arm function, or just not want to part with your arm?
