One of the devs actually said on Discord that he loves Linux and will try to the higher ups to support Linux... I don't know if this is enough though since this support might be just a fluke and might break later on with no fix
Great channel and thanks for straightforward content. Today I learn something new: I can manage to opt in for bleeding edge beta version of Proton Experimental. 🎉 kudos my French friend
Your advise at the end is very much justified, but since I am never actually gonna go back to playing on Windows, I don't see why not trying the game, even though I might get banned. Thanks for the coverage, M4X, I already had it downloaded and played on my 5600x / RX580 system. It runs quite well, even though there is some occasional frame stutter when turning around the camera. Overall, playable experience, and I think it's only gonna get better with the newer iterations of Proton!
Hello my friend, your explanation is excellent and you have a distinctive style. If possible, many good explanations of the distributions and methods of running the games. Thank you very much.
'm getting similar frame rates at 1080p maximum settings on Linux as I do on Windows, around 70-80 fps with my hardware (GTX 1080 Ti and Ryzen 9 3900X). However, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) does not seem to be working properly on Linux. When I enable FSR Quality mode in the game's settings on Windows, I can get 110-120 fps with maximum settings. But on Linux, turning on FSR Quality does not improve my frame rate over having it disabled, even though the image quality looks like FSR is working. I tried putting in the launch option that is supposed to force enable FSR according to the game's description, but it did not enable FSR properly. Whenever I try to switch FSR modes or disable it completely, the game crashes on Linux. I'm currently using the Nvidia 545.29.06 drivers on Pop!_OS. If anyone has suggestions for getting FSR working properly or further optimizing performance on Linux, please let me know. It may be an issue with the game, drivers, or OS that needs to be addressed.
Another way to use FSR on Linux is to use it directly through the proton wrapper. Check out this video I made a long time ago: ua-cam.com/video/LmlBqAtaDtQ/v-deo.html If the game launch with Proton-GE, you should have access to the FSR features / resolutions without the need to activate it in game. Enjoy!
hey there i have a hybrid laptop with nvidia dGPU , the EAC engine starts with dgpu but when the game starts it shows that it runs on the iGPU any help ??? ty
You are not playing this game on linux. You are playing this game on proton on linux, and that's a difference. They already said they enabled EAC on steam, so steamdeck/linux can run it. Im on proton 8.0.-4, 535 nv, x11, 4070, game runs bit faster. You are on wayland+545 if im not mistaken? Even without DLSS, on AMD FSR2 game runs in a competetive state - 150+ fps 4ms lags.
Send me on my discord a screenshot showing that you have more than 330 fps with your 4070 in the firing range with the settings shared in this video, then we will talk. So far you just proven to be trolling in my comments nothing else...
@@A1RM4X that's not possible, because you play 1440p, and i play 1080p, you have epic on reflections, i have high. I did not say that i have same settings. If you dont want to test drivers, okay, i will find someone less attacky.
Thanks for contributing to the Linux community
Any time!
i checked about this game yesterday , happy to see its working fine on linux ,valve will fix any remaining issues soon , great video by the way :)

@@A1RM4X hahahahah love your accent brother🤣❤️
This runs smooth on System76 desltop PoP_OS and my Nvidia 4070. Proton has come a long way. Thanks for the setup help.

did you try enabling voice chat... enabling voice chat causes the game to crash I hope the devs look into this.
I did not before shooting the video. Thanks for sharing this. Hope the devs will fix it soon.
how is it 8 months later?
@@mewingeffectsoncognition3856 no crashing.. Game is stable on Linux. Go test it yourself

I get to connecting than the game crashes so hard it takes Steam with it and I must reboot the system because Steam will not launch after the crash.
I am getting an error every time i try to run the game saying it cant pull down all of the precompile pipelines. thoughts?
I installed Ubuntu in my zephyrs g14 GTX 1650 I can't play finals I have followed everything u did but when I click play it is not opening
this is nice
Im having issues launching the game, I followed all your steps and nothing. Any other reasons it will not launch?
are you using a cpu with avx512 if so you either need to disable it in the bios or through this kernel parameter for it to launch "clearcpuid=304"
Are you french?
Yes. How did you guess? =)
Yo accent so cute, rrrrrr

I never said I was running the game natively...
I am using X11 and everything set to EPIC in 1440p... Happy you have more fps with your 4070 🤞
proton > natives games, anyway
@@A1RM4X 1440p, that's why. Any chance you can compare 545 and 535 drivers? Same game, same setup.
