I will never tire of this song. That sexy bass line, the ethereal keys & guitar, Emma's hauntingly undertoned voice... c'est parfait. Long words widen gaps between lovers, ain't that the truth!
it's called having enough money to buy a vintage fender deluxe reverb, ampeg bass cab with TWO seperate heads for that excessive bass, vintage analog synths from the 80's which nowadays can stretch anywhere from 400-3000 £'s or $'s depending on what side of this earth you reside, a full fat fender P bass and a vintage 62 jazzmaster.... all that gear alone comes to roughly 7/8000 on top of that just to really rub salt into the wound she has a £1500 interface just chilling on the table, an apogee quartet... throw in obvious pedals and so on and in total we're looking at a nice 10-15,000 pound setup all in this one video alone.... that's how they manage to get this quality of sound... PHEW that was exhausting and before anyone comments YES I DEFINITELY DEFINITELY HAVE GEAR ENVY
@@moussetache1815 every chord is an open 7 apart from the a... couldn't get any musically easier if you tried you only need 3 fingers to play any chord in this song 😂 it's really easy to make simple chords sound good when you're doing it through very expensive hardware... nothing that hasn't been done before is it?
the only musicianship in this vid is the bass player! there's a drum machine playing a break and the rest like i say is 3 finger magic... but of course no-one will praise the bassist amongst such an eclectic frontwoman... 🤦♂️
@@toraimanchester4658 I get your point but I do make a distinction between musicianship and technique (which is important of course). I mean, Black Sabbath and James Brown are among my favorite examples when it comes to pure music that doesn't necessarily demand the greatest skills. I'm French and one of the translations I get for musicianship is: "sense of music". I met many people who were far better than me technically but who could feel nothing and couldn't produce something worth of interest. Very expensive hardware will never make musicians better or more interesting, although of course mastering them offer more possibilities. On the other hand, lack of means often result in great inventivity and use of the few resources that are available. But I am a bit jealous of their hardware too to be honest ;)
I love the fact that you guys put the lyrics into your videos. I feel so much more connected to the music and to the content and this time it just hit me, because what this song is talking about speaks for a situation I have with somebody ... who I truly care about. Thankyou for that, my dear friends!
Love the outdoors ambience of this particular version. The sparse punch of the drum machine beautifully accentuates Emma's gorgeous vocals and the accompanying instruments. 10/10! A true MIT classic.
Such a beautiful song and love the fact that you show the lyrics on your videos; albeit at times hard to sing along to, amongst the sparkly green grass!🌞 Incredible sound quality and Emma’s soothing, melodic vocals and guitar playing....👏🌞👏🌞👌👌👌❤️
J'adore le fait que ce soit enregistrer dehors. On entends les criquets et le vent. On passe tellement de temps a salir notre musique, quelle maginfique idée. BTW.. super ligne de basse.
Did you know that the yellow subtitles are organically grown in the Canadian grass shown on screen? That's why they are so healthy (you can tell from the way they wave in Italics)

Sending love this Christmas all way from PAKISTAN. Addicted to 'Men I trust', what an amazing band! Hope to see them become mainstream famous in future!
Imagine walking through the park and stumbling upon them doin this.
wow, I gotta move to Canada 😁
Can you feel the wind in your headphones? beautiful

Amazing bassline! The velvet voice.
The dreamy vocals and the background is all in perfect sync. What a magical moment
The wind in the background goes so well with the song, it sounds like it's a part of it! Great live performance!
But now I miss it each time when listening to the studio version lol
this band is a hidden gem that i stumbled upon one day, and although selfish, i hope no one else finds it so it can be a little secret

Beautiful. 10/10
Love the setting of the video, by the way!
"Let's lay down our masks and be true."
One day... when the pandemic is over.
The whole sound and aesthetic of this production wow -- Men I Trust keeps giving me 'other planet' vibes
This is the light of a person's whole life.
Your live videos feel so natural. Just like it happens right in front of you. Thanks for your great songs and such a gorgeous footage.

Favorite band ever Emma’s voice is so beautiful
This is beautiful in every sense of the word

Around 01:40 you can hear the wind... Coming back to this year after year, it's outstanding.
The background with the leafs and the air makes it even better

I MEAN ALL TIME TALENT!
The sound at 1:45 , seems like it is coming from the fraction of leaves the breeze is causing. If it is, then it is beautiful.

maaaan this girl and her smile..... STAHP!
Vocals are softer than a feather pillow. She could cure a headache with ease.
My fav MIT song! Love every word. A beautiful thing when we find “riddles in smiles, rather than small talk”
I love this band, almost every song's lyrics really hit me hard because i can compare them to myself.
I’m so inlove with this version

Love this band, i am in love!
Your music is my favorite to listen to..and I'm an older mom..asked my son if I could go to one of your concerts.
I love how the wind starts blowing right before Emma says Hear nature's words, my dear friend :)

These acustic versions are amazing O_O
deeply in love with this live session
half of these “live” versions sound better than the album versions...
@@wra7h well your wish has come true

Because this music is so basic and simple that you can play it perfectly and better anytime easily.

The Lofi House mix to this song is what brought me here.

This sounds so good that I thought it was a studio album version
