People might say this puts other drivers jobs at risk but I think that it is better to have self driving cars because we will get cheaper rides because the companies don't have to pay wages which in turn reduces the cost per ride
This is good for the companies and maybe the consumer (as compared in the video the ride cost 3$ more than Uber) but unfortunately that means less employment
Of course it will put taxi driver jobs at risk. I'm glad that we can finally bury this line of work. It didn't pay well and sitting all day long isn't good for your health.
important UPDATE: passengers can select their location and distination by smart phone application so one taxi can pick up more than one passenger on the same line , this will reduce traffic jam.
@@parthnagdev Most of South and Southeast Asia is bad at this... I don't think it has a good chance of survival there, especially some roads which have NO white line markings...
More affordable, but not cheaper. It will stay for a few years like this. Once it takes off, it will have an effect on the global economy. So probably it will be affordable like todays cars.
I hope that they make self driving cars like these in the future that we can buy and own instead of just using them for taxis. It would mean so much to all of us who don’t know how to drive to own cars like these. I hope they do make it in the future so I can buy one and go out whenever I want!!!
Imagine getting behind the wheel and downing a bottle of whiskey in front of the cops. Then they try to pull you over and the car keeps going until they ram it off the road only to find out you weren't even driving. 😁

$3 more expensive than uber but without the guilt trip of not tipping
And way safer.

Prefer looking out the windshield. Neat experience!
? you can get that experience while driving a car. go watch another video lol
Here is another video with a windshield view: ua-cam.com/video/mA2d8iK3iwg/v-deo.htmlsi=84zu5cGVXkyIwI-V
They have to test Waymo in Thailand. If it can get through that kind of traffic, it can get through anything.
Easy for that kinda technology.
india is the real deal

loved the video and the adventure.. I was glued to the video as though I was the passenger.
Looks like fun but I'm not ready for it yet but I'll try it
thanks for making a video, this is awesome !
Waymo taxi services has been operating in San Francisco since 2020. I took a ride in 2022, and now it also operates in Los Angeles
This is so cool
How can an AI taxi cost more than a regular taxi? I presume in the future they'll be much cheaper?
Correct. I also assume you don't want the cheapest clients while testing.
No it won't
High development cost distributed over few cars/customers/miles. Will get cheaper, once competition and economy of scale kick in.

Its already here now.. All Teslas comes with FSD (Full self driving). Works incredibility well..! Try a test drive at a dealer..
I could just lay in the back as it does all the work
You can pry my "old fashioned" suv from my cold dead hands
Tesla talks the talk, and Waymo walks the walk.
Yo this is crazy
Oh, this is good no more Uber
If nobody drove their vehicle that there wouldn't be no rage, drivers, emotions or what kills people
Yeah you feel safe til AI goes haywire and says "buckle up bitches. You're in for the ride of your life" and starts flooring 100 mph. I'll wait
Loved my Waymo rides but I prefer humans driving! I am thrilled to pay/tip and enjoy a terrific chat!
Waymo damage inflicted during the next riot
Can you drink and drive with this?

Let's call it the suicide car
can you sit on the drivers side? even if you are not going to drive?
No. If you do the car will like not drive, shut down or something.
Waymo than Uber

Somehow i believe self driving car will have a short life and will be replaced by something even cool.
imagine when a hacker will take control of the car and take you where he wants. what will you do then?💪
Just turn the car off.
Press the emergency brake (mechanically operated not electrical)? And before you comment, please educate yourself on how hacking works.
Same thing as when someone hijacks your car. Oh, btw is this a mandatory thing that is going to happen no matter what? 🤔
