I have one of these, but silver as a backup for my Canon F-1. Its great, the most expensive professional slrs were not really that much better. I think you will enjoy it for a long time.
Ah, yes, another camera from a time when I was still taking snapshots with my grandfather's old Brownie. (I wouldn't hold my first SLR for another 5-6 years yet.) Those early 1970s SLRs are truly engineering marvels, when you think about it. So were the older SLRs, as well as the rangefinders and TLRs from even earlier, but I think the SLR really came of age in the early 1970s. That's when electronics miniaturization, which was accelerated by ambitious projects such as the Apollo space missions, reached a point where it led to improved metering in cameras while still allowing the cameras to be made smaller, lighter and easier to hold. We had a lot of fun with our cameras back in the day, and it's a treat to see you having just as much fun with them now.
Do you find the battery cover barely closes with the adapter and button battery? I have the Mr9 from Kanto Japan for the button 1.5v to make it 1.3 … but it barely fits! Same with using it for the prism on the F2 - or any camera really haha.
Ally which part number is the canon digital camera eyecup that you use on your Canon FTB? I have an FTB but need an eyecup. I like your idea there. Thanks
Here is a great discussion on this very question www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3844422 I don’t use flash. So I can’t give much info but I have the Canon Speedlight myself. I like that it can swivel so the light can be pointed in different directions instead of just straight on. KEH always has a ton of flashes cheap. www.keh.com/shop/search?q=Canon+speedlight+ Hope this helps

I agree. That era made the best SLR
Great video! And the FTb is a great camera. 😊👍🏻

I have to go to LA for most of my Doc appointments, I also take pics as we drive down there.
It’s a nice distraction I think

I haven’t run into that issue but I’ve only used it mostly in my Nikon F

Hi James. I’m not sure the number. It’s the eyecup that came with my Canon T6i digital camera.
@@AlysVintageCameraAlley thanks so much Aly!
Nice tone to these photographs, are they all with the standard lens?
Thank you. Yes if I remember correctly they're all with the 50mm
I'm thinking about getting one of these, but I do a lot of indoor low light shooting (punk shows), is there a compatible flash you could recommend?
