(From Ryan Spradlin) I had to come up with a way to cook 14 tri tips for my daughters wedding without having to man the bbq. A friend suggested the Hook and Cook way. That's what he does for big events. So I watched your videos on how to build one and the recipe you use. It turned out great. I got a lot of complements and their wasn't very much meat left in the end. Thanks Styme!
Does the size of the exhaust hole also needs to be regulated or can I just put a 2" exhaust and adjust the temp with the bottom holes? How hot does the exterior gets? do you have to paint it with high temp paint or you can use any paint?
Have you ever thought of putting a pellet grill hopper assembly on a UDS for the heating and temperature control. I did one and It worked out great. Just wondering if this would work on your setup?
Hey AJ, Just 8, 1 inch around the Bottom & 6 on top.... no more, no less, no bigger, no smaller. It needs to be RAW Steel on the inside, and my paint is regular and it holds up fine. However if i had to paint it from raw steel I would use high heat.
This is a Great Idea. For those of you who want more control over the heat use this concept & let us know your results. Probably can get Magnetic strip at a Art & Craft store. Thanks for the info Anthony :)
Yes, we have done a few pork butts they come out great and have a video in the can, it is on the way to the editor. i have a few request's for Brisket, and i'm sure they will be just as good.
+Easy Moore I'm not sure I'm completely understanding your question, there is a handle on the lid to lift it off and on the bottom of the lid i have attached a rope hook, that enables the lid to hang on the side.

How do you get the top off so it sits back on the barrel?

We use to full Chimneys, see our how to lite video.
How much do you sell your bbq's for?

We like to keep it simple. There really isn't a need with the holes around the sides.
you can do brisket and puller pork right?
