@@Sip_Dhit Recording original hardware is definitely more complicated and expensive due to hurdles with converting analog video to digital and refresh rates not being exactly 60 Hz. It's definitely something that takes a lot more effort to get right. Then you have to set up every console before recording or you have to have everything set up with switchers, maybe have two televisions. I don't know what their setup is like or what their new(er) office looks like, so maybe they just decided to go with the easier solution of using emulators on PC and Xbox. Still, I miss when the video looked like it came from the original console. It felt, like, more warm and cozy imo.

No joke, I still have a callus on the palm of my hand from playing this game 25 years ago because I used my palm to quickly rotate the N64 joystick in the mini games.
i remember the pain of playing this game with my friends. We had way too many days, where we stopped because one of us started to feel pain at the center of the palm. You can toughen it out, but it'll only end with a bloody circle the size of an N64 joystick.
This Mario Party was my life. It was the only one I had for like... 10 years. I went from Mario Party 1, to Mario Party 8. I did eventually get the ones in between. But I played Mario Party 1 so much that I didn't feel like I needed another for all that time. Me and my family still go back to it sometimes.
I love the first Mario Party. The only Mario Party that makes your opponents lose coins when you win a 1v3 or 2v2. Also, one of the most infamous for ruining people's hands rotating the control stick like mad folks. Lmao. Thank you for the content, and I can't wait to see how this ends.

Me and my little brothers used to play the first Mario party and we basically would always team up against the hard computer cuz they were so hard that a bunch of elementary school kids couldn't win unless they all ganged up

It's decided during the actual die roll in all following games.

oh yes. hard mode in the first mario party. what a frustrating experience that was. Not a single one of my friends was able to win a whole Game when there was a Hard enemy in there. We all tried to fight for the second place instead, because there was just no way of beating them. Their rolls were always what they needed to get to the star as fast as possible.
I remember I got to the end of mini-game island. That last mini-game being a super hard slot car derby that I couldn't beat. Loved that game, until my older brother traded it without my knowledge for a copy of NFL Quarterback Club '98
all the new mario parties are for actual babies where everyone gets 50+ stars and 3 helpers and nobody loses everything. the first two are the true form of the party where every game ends with blisters and broken friendships

Really bringing back some nostalgia with this one. I used to play this all the time with my family. Especially when I'd have to spend nights at my step grandparents. I remember doing a 50 turn play with my mom stepdad and little sister, having to keep the N64 running overnight to finish the game because it was like 3 and and we were just barely half way through. Mario party 1, has special die. You have to buy them in the shop. And then turn them on, and you can use them on the boards. They will appear randomly. Warp blocks, but they work very differently here.
I remember playing this all the time as a kid. It is ABSOLUTELY brutal. The best Mario Party ever. I can't wait to see if they come even close to winning.

I didn't take the Y2K thing too seriously so I went into the year 2000 playing this game with some friends. It's amazing to see someone experience it's basic offerings for the very first time, especially given the prevalence of the Switch versions. Please never stop playing these older games.
