The Black Imp (French: Le Diable noir) is a trick film from 1905 realized by Georges Méliès:

A demon jumps happily into a hotel room, when he hears people coming, he hides in the chest of drawers. A traveler arrives who, having taken off his coat, would like to put it in the cabinet, but this moves to the center of the room, then on a table and again on two tables, and then it returns to its place leaving the man lying on the ground. The victim takes off his shoes and would like to sit down, but the chair appears, disappears, and multiplies, preventing him from resting: at the end, the devil appears and the traveler begins, without success, the pursuit of the devil which leads to the inevitable destruction of the room. The servants find the man intent on extinguishing the fire on the bed, so they grab him and take him away. The devil reappears, happy to have his room back.
