I main Aiki and was actually a bit ashamed, because I thought it was too overpowered. I was smashing folks left and right. Because of longer reach on Aiki you can be as offencicive, as you wish, some people practicaly incapable to dash out of your atacks. And I even been able to often find myself denying people trying to punish me with their comboes after I miss mine. I even found the style a bit braindead to use and to win. Despite being overpowered in my (beautiful) eyes, I will keep using it because I love karate and Lyricism Without Tears rocks af.
most of the time, styles like aiki usually depend on the person's skill while aiki IS pretty slow and- can be easily bullied by other styles, you can still make it work with aiki. when stomp was added again to UF everyone hated it, until when people started developing techniques for it, same thing can go with sake and probably other styles(which the same thing was kind of with aiki.) though i respect your opinion, aiki can be easily countered and most of the time, it's outsmarted by much smarter players.
Even if you dodge in+m1, your m1s are soo sluggish half the time they get interrupted, but as you said, aiki can still work with a good amount of brainpower (or attack on your own time, dont immediately go for punishing)
@@pearllake1755 If you time your whiff-punishes properly, you won't get interrupted, and aiki isn't supposed to be played aggressively with that kind of moveset, you're supposed to bait them into making mistakes and punishing them for it. You are not supposed to rush in with aiki, not when you have 1 dash.
There’s new sneak peek reworked styles sake smasher step rush back up clinch bandit New style snake style with new essences 4. New maps Boss styles also
Good m2, s1 that makes you go away, a fast easy damage/block breaking, pretty strong block gauge, s3 has a lot of damage, I dont see why is aiki the worst and not bandit or even sake
Truth be told, I expected Aiki to be somewhat of an aggressive style. Which it can be! However, everything you listed is true. The style is alright, but amazing at best when wielded with someone who knows how to take advantage of it's pros and cons but you're also right about being outclassed. Also Aiki used to have a combo extender on the S1B, however Volk being Volk and balances the game whether he can beat it or not sucks ass. Also, him allegedly saying he didn't want extenders on Brute styles is uh... weird. Counting Slugger and Tiger having ways to extend a combo, which is weird to say something and leave two styles with a way to extend. But yea, most styles in this game have some form of way getting in and dishing out a lot of damage like Tiger (Sleuth) and Crane, simply being my favorite styles just for being very stylish combo styles with kicker music that feel good because you have ways to get in and start something which makes sense! However, Aiki is based off of Joji Kazama and I don't remember him using the S2 or similar but Aiki could've had more to it from Joj'si moveset. But that said, Aiki isn't bad but it's mediocre and if it had more to separate itself from the rest of the heavy styles it'd be even cooler. That said, Thug style sucks for me just cus it sucks at dealing with block spam most of the time and being just generally weak. Rush too right now but they're getting reworked with Clinch so hope they turn out good and fixes their issues.
I was playing UF with a friend, he tryied Aiki. He made a suggestion, that maybe it is based on Baki anime. There were Yakuza members, and their technique was called Aiki. However Aiki is a real martial art technique as well, so it might be just a coinsidence.
@ladisloved Since it's based off of Joji Kazama, Aiki is actually based off a form of karate. I'm not sure which type of karate however but I think it was "Kyokushin Karate" which is also known as "The True Way of Karate". I haven't at all watched any videos on the techniques used but judging how Joji uses the techniques and moveset in the fight in Yakuza 3 it's pretty obvious to tell he has ways to counter over-aggression and to also be aggressive too. I do feel like Aiki being a brute style is meh since you do have better options like Tiger and Slugger since Aiki in Remix was considered a hybrid between being a brute and brawler which is what made it very good.
Ok this just sounds like some crazy downplay, yes aiki doesnt have combos, that is because its likely meant to be a neutral-heavy style - you have a much better version of fighter and dragon's dropkick, not being able to use it in a combo is not a problem since its not worth the heat loss - s2 is meant to be a armored reversal, the longer windup is a trait with most armored reversal, aiki's armor is much faster than sluggers, which is one of the best style in the game rn - s3 is better than the average counter s3, and since aiki doesnt use any heat for combos, you can pull it off much more often than other s3 Overall, i think you're looking at aiki the wrong way, aiki is a good style, but its not meant to be played like other styles.
From experience, my greatest way to play aiki is to be passive-aggro and suprising, like using the skill one out of no where or sometimes taking the risk of stepping in
BOO, SUBSIDIARY PERSON JUMPSCARE!!! Aiki as a style, feels like it HEAVILY requires things to go your way, otherwise you’re a bit screwed Aiki is something I like to call a “Noob-wrecker” something that is called a “Noob-wrecker” is, well, something that destroys new players This is because of Aiki’s fast S1 and very strong S2, a new player would have no idea how to deal with that kind of mix since, well, they’re new to the game, and Aiki’s rather strange moveset would be hard to understand for people about lvl 150 and under but the thing is, Aiki’s strange moveset is linear and simple to beat, it’s got 1 dash, to beat S1, you need to block frequently even when it seems like they won’t do it and for S2, stay patient and wait for them to throw it out, dodge and punish It would’ve been better if S1B was repurposed or nerfed to EX heat mode usage only, but that wasn’t the case sadly Sure, you CAN beat good players, but you’ll need a full read on their playstyle to do that when a lot of other styles don’t require that much critical thinking against the enemy’s playstyle to do well or even win Great review of Aiki, maaaaaybe I could ask volk to give it a small buff since rn, it kinda needs it have fun being unusual, gamers
yea aiki is kinda bad but it's not meant for combos, the whole moveset revolves around hitting that high damage s2, i usually play pretty aggressively so i pressure people into panicking and hitting the armour on the move. if your s1 gets blocked though, you're probably fucked LOL
If you think your opponent will block just aim to the opponent and then aim away from the opponent to make the move end away from the opponent to make harder to punish
heihachi beating the shit out of cooler is something i would never expect
Fish guy?
At least you feel good from s2 sending enemy flying on kill.
You send them into orbit with reborn tiger drop kill tho
Aiki's very good, you just gotta believe...also don't hesistate to use s1 as mobility since u only got 1 dash,or 180 the s1 and things like that
what if i make its s2 one shot what about that
Nooo volk just give it 1 second cooldown 😡
you should bring back the S1B(or s2b whatever) on aiki 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
god bless
