100% correct here. While I do watch tutorials and will read guides when I want to improve, MOST fighting game content I consume on the regular are funny compilations or specific people like you, brawlpro and lately Doki and her Zangief stuff
Fr while i do watch some guides here and there (especially if learning a new character) but most of the time the content I enjoy in the FGC are where people are doing the most stupidest shit like I wanna see people crashing out like denny or rac, Brawlpro doing the most stupidest thing known to man and it working or Doki facerolling her sticks. Like the FGC needs more of these personalities that make the game look fun and an absolute fun shitshow in all levels.
As a casual, i relate with this so much! Hence i just seem to resonate naturally with people like Brawlpro, sajam (Which unironically sajam slam is my favorite tournament ever for the exact points you made), Maximilian and commentators like Yipes and Tasty Steve. There is so much potantial out there to make something fun, and i believe we are just getting started.
The point about people gatekeeping beginners making content is so true, I remember a certain 3rd Strike player from the US going to lots of people's videos and just talking smack to them for not being good enough, like who does that? What's the point?
I had this mindset & philosophy way before even when Negan came in Tekken 7 though unfortunately him being a AMC/TWD character made it quite difficult to upload because Lawsuits and what not that even my old channel died then I had to switch back to being a professional. This video motivated me to do this for Leroy & Shaheen then
I personally only watch those high level replay channels and tech stuff/informative stuff like Mishima Complex. Definitely a minority but to me that is the thing about FGs (the constant drive to be a better gamer), I never really liked streamers tbh. You are one of the people doing gods work tho, there's definitely an audience for more laid back FG content, for SF adn TK at least. I would love to see content for more niche stuff like Melty or something like that. Tambien, no puedo creer que estes alrededor de Emperor jugando como por 6 meses, llevo 2 años jugando Tekken y no mas no doy una lmao. Espero algun dia llegar hasta alla.
I can definitely relate to this idea, i’ve been trying to make content for tekken that is genuinely a bit different and about my experiences learning every character in Tekken. Not getting many views but im having fun so im not stopping lol
when thinking about fgc content, the main thing i wish for, is the information about players. A channel would be nice, which showcases where a player comes from, his achievments, together with rivalries and personality. This knowledge about player is a huge motivator to watch tournaments and get inspired to mimic their playstyle.
yeah istg this is what we lack. not tekken related but i have a small smash bros ultimate community here. Tried to bring up the idea of casual fun modes for players instead of just sweating thru improving urselves. But theyre just concern of players leaving the community just after trying the casual game mode once. I'm pretty sure casual and fun games mode that creates fun moments to make players stay
I was already in the fgc, but I got into tekken specifically because of the second sajam slam. I just saw those personalities learning the game and that made it click how the game was fun, so I tried it, and lo and behold I'm having a great time
im one of those who LOVE technical details! and tutorials as extension. theres something fullfilling in understanding some concept and breaking it down for the audience, but i can definetly understand ur point of view. great vid)
Thanks to you I have discovered lots of entertaining streamers, and your reina is also what inspired to say fuck it ,im going to try to learn mishimas so thanks fo that as well. You and mainmanswe and are my two biggest tekken inspirations ,keep it up
I agree 1000%, I believe getting better is a part of the game because how is a new player gonna know what a 1+2 break is for a king throw? But we also can’t just take everything seriously. HAVE FUN playing and learning because u can only learn it once
Bros speaking facts. I just started streaming and, apparently, people have been following me BECAUSE of you, and what you’ve done for the community and featuring me. Love you man, do I no gods work. ❤
I can speak from a casual perspective because in Tekken 7 me and my GF would have fun with treasure battles because it was fun to unlock stuff but honestly it was a little shallow, I've been getting into ranked in Tekken 8 but I really think the casual users need something fun to do, anything, imagine a roguelike mode where you can go through a mode similar to arcade but you add on upgrades/mechanics or an RPG adjacent mode where the player can feel some kind of progression, imagine grinding to level up your Kazuya to level 100, there just needs to be more dopamine generating content for casuals.
As an outsider from the FGC, BrawlPro and TMM were the people that made me try and buy tekken 8. Entertainment is what brings and reels people in. The real personalities of the people behind those screens is what people want to watch and most likely want to play. There is a reason why viewer matches garner a lot of views, its because its connecting with the people who are in the community. And as for those who aren't yet and sees these kind of clips, videos and streams may want to also enjoy the game and play. Like let's be for real here, We all want to see some goofy shiz happening and have a good laugh about it. cuz who doesnt?
Theres just too many events with very little prize vs the cost to travel there. Other esports paid for qualified players which would make much more sense when they have these battlepass liveservice stuff which should fund the esport which is what valve did and why TI and CSGO was successful in their esport scene tho their item auctionhouse is predatory.
I go to your channel for fun content, Phidx for general learning and pro scene analysis, Mishimacomplex for character techs and character specific knowledge, theMainMan for some kazuya content.
but the thing with max is that he is doing what he likes and that the rarity and the appealing that he got throw years his streamings felt more like a hang out with a friend that a simple guy playing video games because he don't play what is on trend
Ive wanted to stream my tekken 8 content. But i feel like im ''not good enough'' like i am low purples right now, but i feel like i am not good enough to stream. ive always played the game purely on muscle memory, so when people start talking all technical and start talking about frames and whatnot. i have NO CLUE. This also stopped me from entering a couple of events because i am simply super clueless about all that technical stuff. In my mind i always thought people only wanted to see the very good players, and the very technicall, i know every move and exact frame type of people. perhaps i was wrong ?
I don't comment much because I always think there's no need, but I want to make it clear that I love toxicity in fighting games and I want that to never change, to maintain a niche, it's difficult to grow but it leaves the NPCs far away, it's a sacrifice to pay to have great authenticity. I don't know if you noticed but the fighting game community only talks about fighting games, they don't bring politics or anything like that into the mix, if it becomes main stream this will happen, these gay people are like cancer sometimes
As always, the problem with fighting game content is the FGC itself. That includes everyone, from the developers, to the tourney organizers paying their pros like garbage, to the pros & competitive players/creators, and _especially_ the viewing audience. There's a niche for everyone in the creative space, but the audience likes what it likes. For me, a good crashout is entertaining every now & then, but that's basically the majority of popular non-tourney FGC content as it is. Personally, I like to see more thoughtful content; not necessarily tutorials or tierlists, but more expanding on different playstyles, exploring the strengths & weaknesses of each region in the competitive scene, explaining why newer players would enjoy some characters over others, how difficult a character is to play, the overall health of the game, etc, from players who understand the game outside of the character they main. And there certainly are creators making that kind of content! But someone like TheMainManSWE, ThatBlastedSalami or PhiDX making researched & in-depth videos gets similar or less views than reuploads of streams from FGC lolcows like LowTierGod, compilations of clips from Twitch, or content-farming rants over the latest non-controversies from creators like Mike Hollow. But hey, if people weren't watching any of that shit, it wouldn't be made. Hell, I'm guilty of enjoying crashout comps like the next man.
Making tekken content and getting consistent toxic comments from higher rank players be mad annoying and I feel is one of the main reasons the fgc community can’t grow as big as it would like…
Tekken 8 has no modes so how could the youtubers make any content on it? All he can upload is "reaching Tekken God with Jin! "Reaching Tekken God Omega with King!" That's all there is, ranking up.
The problem is the constant need for rage baiting and "omg this game is so mashy" from scrubs. Look, it's ok to be a scrub and a content creator. It actually is. Just own up to it. Say "guys, I'm a scrub, this is how I get better" and go from there. It's actually fun having like a casual video, chill, talk to the audience, whatever. Pro too, same stuff applies. The constant rage bait, that stuff's annoying. And scrubs acting like they're gods. No, stop. Also stop making content "for content". Gotta enjoy your own content too. Enjoy what you make, then the audience will enjoy it too because we'll see the passion behind it (Max is a great example of this, I make fun of him sometimes with MH, but like, I get it, he's passionate, and I don't do it to hate, all in good fun). And yeah, that's how it should be imo. The FGC is all about the community and coming together to play fighting games. We should share that love for the fighting games we enjoy, you know.
People might disagree with me, but adding what's on the video I feel like, must people only enjoy seeing those 2 types of streamers, those who really put on nice performance during games and those who make funny contents even if they play mid... cuz I've seen some people streaming when they barely do a basic combo during the game, and don't even say a word, just leave their matches running on the screen, and that's good for them, that's lame af
You had me until you said toxic people were adding to the community. I’m all for competition and growing but that shit erodes communities, it doesn’t foster them.
5:20 timthetatman is proof people dont care about skill, especially in a game full of cheating. We like personality and relatability. Could care less if my favorite streamer loses, as long as hes not an LTG.
You had me.... you faking had me and then 5:04 Use you're brain bro. You know why you got a comment like that and it's stupidly obvious. if ur going to play dumb I'm out.
DennyMaz and Brawlpro are my favorite flavors of Tekken content. It’s just fun energy that spreads past the traditional formats of content
All I'm hearing from this is that Brawlpro just needs to upload more. And I agree with this sentiment.
100% correct here. While I do watch tutorials and will read guides when I want to improve, MOST fighting game content I consume on the regular are funny compilations or specific people like you, brawlpro and lately Doki and her Zangief stuff
This popped up in my recommendations and I'm even more motivated to start diving into making videos about my love of fighting games❤
thanks man - i needed this today :') 💖😌🤝✨
Fr while i do watch some guides here and there (especially if learning a new character) but most of the time the content I enjoy in the FGC are where people are doing the most stupidest shit like I wanna see people crashing out like denny or rac, Brawlpro doing the most stupidest thing known to man and it working or Doki facerolling her sticks. Having fun should be a rule! Yea we can always improve our skills, but it shouldn't feel like a job or a major frustration
The point about people gatekeeping beginners making content is so true, I remember a certain 3rd Strike player from the US going to lots of people's videos and just talking smack to them for not being good enough, like who does that? What's the point?
oh wow. who?

This was in Street Fighter 5 's survival mode. Everyone hated it. I agree, though it could be fun
Where does all of these content ideas come from man? In your mind, and the editing,, insane... Ur gaoted ❤
So be an entertainer instead of just be a pro. Noted.
You can be a pro and an entertainer at the same time too, of course. Look at my mans, Brawlpro.
@@emc7645 True but it's more profitable to be a streamer than a pro.
I subbed for the compilation of streamer and damn I laughed a lot and as you said it’s different than tutorial
Fun content is always more in demand than educational content - this FACT!

I think calling the phone of the pro you're currently fighting against to shittalk them (during a stream) might help with content!
The IamYourFather secret formula lol
You played Hinokami chronicles too? NICE!! I really miss playing the game so much, hopefully there’s a sequel🌝!!!!

We need more drama, beef and allegations
Not mentioning tmm as he was the one who inspired a generation in Tekken community is wild.

I will upload Tekken 8 when I get a PS5 or a better PC/laptop. Used to post T7 for content.
So basically I need to get recording my shouting with enthusiasm after punishing with "well" timed counter death fists and Zangief level 3s...
yea true its hard to make a living with fighting games tmm rocked it
I just want to have fun with one of my favorite fighting games of all time.
True, True, True

Making tekken content and getting consistent toxic comments from higher rank players be mad annoying and I feel is one of the main reasons the fgc community can’t grow as big as it would like…
I kinda thought it was an algorithm issue, but then again maybe it’s just me struggling to understand it. That being said, DIO what tags do you use 🗿
This is also a problem in the music industry as well
So... "just do more light hearted content" isn't ? Not shocking though 😅 but I can understand the point
♥️♥️
What bothers me is how folks think just because the game is popular that means that they're going to get views.
