- Well I did it!!! Just purchasing first professional grade tool box/cart. Still trying to organize my tools, but I wanted to get this vid out toy you guys. Let me know what you think of the cart and layout.
My god that color is beautiful!
Yessir it is!!! went out today just to purchase spray wash to keep it clean..lol
Very nice collection. See a lot I’ve loved to get. Love the tool box. Keep those videos coming.
Good-lookin' box
Very nice thanks
Thank you John!
Thank you for sharing your videos I am from South Africa
Love the channel. Right to the point and detailed. I’m living vicariously through you. Have a Harbor Freight tool cart but saving up my pennies for that Matco cart. Im not a pro just semi pro.
Love the texture and color congrats on the great purchase you deserve it
larry borkstrom Thank you sir!!
Very nice box great color
Hi Danoh!! Yes, I'm very happy with the box, and I have no intentions of ever getting rid of this box. If anything, I'd like to purchase another cart, just like this one to simply double -up on my space. At the moment, I'm unsure what other tools I might need/want, but I'm always open to growth...lol
Wow!!!! VERY VERY VERY NICE. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!!
Those Matco service carts and toolboxes, can get them keyed the same.Did that with my Matco 4S top and bottom.Bought the bottom chest first and and then had the top chest ordered using the key code for the bottom chest.Advantage is you don't have to use two different keys using one key
That is good to know, since I'm considering buying another cart just like this one in the near future. I think it would be awesome to double-up instead of buying a full-sized box for several $$$k of dollars.
All your friend needs is the code on the key
@@MidwestToolReview For the money I would buy a single bay 4s, as the big issue is you only have a 3 year warranty on the carts while the box have a lifetime. It will cost you 350 to replace all the slides on the cart but on a 4s its free even tho they use the same slides. I was talked out of the 4s from a dealer when the 770 first came out back in 2012 as I was told the were lifetime and was 500 cheaper then the 4s box.
Dang bro! I wasn't sure if I should buy this tool box (I was debating on buying a bigger one) but after seeing your layout it is awesome!
Great box! And great tool review!
Thank you sir!!
Welcome sir!
This man loves his name brand tools 🛠 love your videos buddy!!
Thank you sir!!!
Very cool man congratulations on the new box I'm a little sad your getting rid of the old mac box I was on the hunt for a top box for you!! But you definitely can't go wrong with the tool carts they are extremely good options for tool boxes!!! Lots of storage also!!
Thanks CP!! It means a lot receiving your support. I'm also saddened by the realization that I'm parting ways with the MAC Tools box, but I know it was inevitable that it would come down to this. My Matco dealer gave me some awesome deals in my trades, plus the cart had just went on promo. I guess you can say the stars aligned for this deal to happen!!
That’s a nice box
You turned me on to those Lenox, love them. SMH at the icon sockets, bought some too when they first came out.
Congrats on the new cart/box! Really good looking color!
Biggie Fitz, Thank you!! Very excited to have it
@@MidwestToolReview Also l really like that Armstrong ratchet. I don't have one but l do have Armstrong ratcheting box wrenches and they are my favorite to use.
Very nice box
Thank you! It's been a long time coming leading up to this purchase, but I'm very happy with it.
Nice tool cart.
Thank you!!
awesome! I like the hammered finish.
Thank you!! The hammered finish and copper tones, make the box pop when in the sun. I could only imagine how that Florida sun would make the color look even better...lol
Just purchased the same exact copper vein cart on Thursday. I needed something I could move around the shop with a majority of my tools. I’m a master BMW tech for a living. Every tool I use every day fit in it. Now my 84” cornwell tools custom box is pretty pointless. I think I’m going to do a tour of mine as well. Great video!
I absolutely love this cart. It has all the storage I need, and you can feel the quality in the drawers, steel construction and overall feel. I’ve looked at other boxes, but for the money, I live this Matco hands-down! Glad to hear you’re a Master BMW Tech, as I’m working on my ‘99 323i. May need to send some questions your way!!!
Midwest Tool Review absolutely. 👍
Love the color
I looked at this box on several occasions and due to poor lighting on the truck, I didn't realize how much I liked the color until it was being offloaded during delivery.
Nice tour James, you should do a video featuring all your bit sets with whats inside them. Some people are very particular about bit sets so a video featuring a few you dont normally see would be great!
Yota, that is excellent advice. I didn't realize that would be a topic people would be interested in, but I will put together something this week.
Dig the color!! Awesome cart bud!
I'm digging the color also, and I'm very happy to have a professional-grade cart/box now. Nothing against the likes of Husky or HFT, but I can tell there's a difference in quality and overall feel with professional-grade products.
You got good taste. Sweet tool box!
What a sharp looking box. Congrats brother and enjoy it.
Thank you! I plan to use and enjoy this box for many years to come.
I got the same one and love it
Have come across you Chanel recently and absolutely love the content. Wicked setup dude.
I've recently got a 55 inch 11 drawer box GW and in the process of setting it up. Realised all the nice hard cases I had everything in as I always bought stuff in cases is not space efficient at all in a box so starting to buy the holders needed to get more in as I filled it way too quick. Even the Eva foam is nice but just takes up too much space
Love the top of this box too it's sick.
The armstrong ratchet is pretty neat
Very nice tool cart 👌
Thank you sir!
Hell yeah bud!👍👍👍
Bearded Seabee82, I was hoping you’d seen my upload!! Really digging the new addition to the shop.
I enjoyed your video, and really like your new toolbox.
I do wish that you had commented about why you chose matco over the competition boxes. The pros and cons vs. Snap on and the others
@midwesttoolreview That is really nice I like that Congratulations Brother 😉👌 Should get a nice durable thick rubber Mat for the top ...The Color is 🔥🔥🔥 Also
Thank you Darrian!! Yea, I think I will certainly look into finding something for the top. I have a 7ft work bend, so I'm good for now. The color is probably the best aesthetic feature I love above this box.
@@MidwestToolReview Yes The Color is very nice ...Different
I know you mentioned you like and prefer to have USA tools, but have to you ever looked at Japanese brands like Koken or KTC? If so whats your opinion on them?
That looks NIIIIIIIICEE!!!
Awesome color. Great vid. Uh-SUBSCRIBED! 🤘
So I just got a vision of you turning your shop into the ultimate tool mancave! That would provide endless video content. Overall looks like your channel is really taking off! Great job man! (This is Richard Beck by the way) I changed my channel name cause UA-cam was really cracking down on my for having the pew pew word in the channel name.
Rich, yeah it seems like I'm headed down that path...lol. I'm gearing up for the largest project I've ever taken on during my YT career. I should have some great content for months to come... Let's just say, we're going back to the glory days of Ford trucks!!!!
Nice tour. My buddy bought a silver vein box right before that color came out and was a little blown
Greg Blau, I would love to see what that one looks like!
He actually has a 6s but I recently looked at a 480 in that color. 770 is nice but a little big for rolling around the shop so I use an old craftsman as a roller till I get something else.
Nice I have the same one
Nice, I have the same cart in blue. Where did you get the red wrench rails. I would like those for my work cart.
NICE SETUP, I ALSO HAVE THE RED SNAPON SCREWDRIVERS SET
Congrats!!! I’m a DIY guy also. I bought a Snap On KLR 777 20 years ago when I was 25.
Very nice. I started out with mid-level tools and storage, but was finally ready to make the commitment to upgrading my tools and storage. Well, I now have primarily Snap on, Mac, and Matco, so I'm good now...hopefully...
Really nice ! I would get rid of all the boxes and trays for the sockets to save a whole lot of space but really nice box
I'm considering ditching the trays and boxes, but I'll need to incorporate the use of the socket holders (e.g. Hansen). I don't want the sockets loose in the box, so I need to figure out something..Thanks for commenting, and if you have any more suggestions, send them over!!!
cart is nice, but honestly, I'd love to just once see a tool box tour from an actual tech, not a bunch of new tools or never used tool
There's plenty of tours out there.
LOL, you must be fairly new to UA-cam. There are more vids from techs than DIY'rs.
Hi James, These carts are cool... Still got it?
who makes the wrench rack at the 15:12 mark? i got different branded wrenches that dont fit in my slotted racks. this looks perfect
I purchased from Olsa Tools.
Definitely look into a company called Toolbox Widget. They are Wrench organizers. They would definitely make it a lot easier
I've had to suggestion presented several times, so I'm going to check them out. Great tip!
Nice box, what the name of the yellow hard handle wrenches ?
Johnny Ramirez, I believe they’re considered to be Mac Tools version of Comfort Grip, so they’re just referred to as BOPA Comfort Grip Handle Wrenches. I’ve seen some on EBay, and they are fairly expensive.
Midwest Tool Review thank you sir
Hey man great looking box I'm thinking of getting a 770 myself could you possibly give me the measurement of each drawer just the depth I'm trying to see what drawer setup I should build and I don't want to Stack tools so I want as many small drawers as I can but I don't know the measurements
Ok, so all of the drawers measure 19.5" from front to back. The first two drawers measure 1.5" deep x 19.5", followed by 3 drawers that measure 3.5" deep x 19.5" and the bottom drawer measured 8.5" deep x 19.5"
Thank you
Nice color combo! What are your drawer dimensions? Are you going to update us when you have the bottom drawer with your impacts, drill gun,and etc all done? I have all my impacts in my bottom drawer. Used the original handle to hold my guns in place. Just curious if your bottom drawer is tall enough to hold them with anvils facing down.
Nice tool box but seems like you’re going to be hard up on room even in the short term. If I was going to make any suggestion it would be tool widgets for the wrench drawer. It might tighten it up just a bit for more room.
Yea, I'm thinking I'm going to downsize somewhat; primarily to weed-out anything that isn't of the best quality, then I'll re-organize. I've been looking at the widget system, but I'm not 100% convinced I like them. I couldve got the Matco version with the box for free, but I simply choose some additional tools.
The only thing it's missin is a set of 22's !
When you shut your top do your drawers lock ,I can't get my drawers to lock is there a trick?
I have the same model
The drawers will open with the top closed. You have the close the lid and lock, then drawers won’t open.
@@MidwestToolReview will you read what I write I said I close my lid and I lock the unit and the drawers still open, good Lord am I talking to a wall?
Hey there, wanted to ask how tall is that box with lid closed?
Why is your tools so clean?
Do you even use them
Nope, I just bought all of this shit to look at…you need to get caught up on my channel bruh..
DANG you got a lot of ratchets!
Johnny, I used to have even more than what I have now, but I've downsized, while migrating to better brands. Nothing against Tekton, Gearwrench or HFT ratchets; I'm just at the point now where I prefer quality tools. The cool part of the ratchet collection is, I paid between $5 and $20 per ratchet.
How do you like the grey pneumatic I was eyeing them but am worried about the warranty so I might just stick with mac
Great looking box man. A legit question, why get rid of the other boxes? Seems like youre acquiring tools pretty quickly and are going to need them. That new box is pretty full alreay. I know you said you might get another Matco down the road but you have those now.
That is a great question. The other boxes were traded-in towards this box, so they have to go as part of the deal. I really considered keeping the MAC box, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy this cart, and my dealer gave me a great deal on that trade. I feel like I can locate another MAC box like that in the future, if I decide I'd to restore another. If you watch any of my older vids, you will see I had a Husky box (60"L x 24"D x 5'W) that I had packed full with tools. I sold the box and all of the contents in 2019. I consider myself to be an expert at buying top brand tools for rock bottom prices, and I've since rebuilt my collection. That said, my focus is to buy top-of-the-line tools this time around, and because of that, I don't want to over purchase, rather focus on quality, not quantity. I do plan to buy another Jamestown 773 like this one in the future, but we'll have to see how this box works out first.
Where do you get all your matco and snap on stuff? Ebay and online? Or do you have access to a tool truck?
The Matco I purchase off the truck. I have a good friend who has a truck/franchise and I buy from him. The Snap-on tools were purchased from a dealer who was retiring. Chance of a life time purchase allowed me the opportunity to buy what I have today. I’ve never been on a Snap-on truck…
That mac box is pro grade just old. Should keep it
wow that’s a pretty box, i’ve never seen that color. how much did it set you back if you don’t mind me asking?
The truck had it showing $1899, but I had some trades and discounts from my guy, so he got the price reduced tremendously.
I see you have a m18 drill driver but no charger above your tool box? How do you feel about Milwaukee? I’m all Milwaukee corded and cordless
Yea, I have the drill and battery, but I don't have the charger. It was part of a large Snap-on purchase, and I was more focused on the tools than the drill. I really like Milwaukee and my M12 Stubby 1/2" drive impact gun is a monster! In general, I prefer Milwaukee over most other power tool brands, including Snap-on (CT761) of which I used in the past.
How much did it run you
1200
Did you weigh the options of the slide top vs flip top?
I do like the slide tops, but at the time, this box was on promo, plus my dealer added additional discounts plus my trade-ins. I have a 7ft work bench that I use, and even if I had the slide top, I wouldn't work off that surface.
That’s a 773 cart no?
Tom Mater You may be right. I have a 770 and noticed a couple differences. The top of the sides are angled to the lower front for one
Yes sir it is! It was built in Feb. 2020 and I had it delivered just 3 days ago.
Please please don’t forget I am still waiting for you to send me the part number for the snap on pocket screwdriver the one with the magnet one the and pocket clip thank you I am from South Africa we don’t get them here
I looked at the screwdriver, and the pocket sized screwdrivers due not have part numbers unfortunately. They're primarily meant for the drivers to hand out to mechanics when they come on the truck.
Midwest Tool Review Good day can I please please ask you if it possible for you to get some pocket screwdrivers and ship them to me in South Africa please please I would really appreciate it as I been trying for so long to get the pocket screwdrivers thank you for your kindness God bless please please let know as to send you me address thank you again for your kindness
Who else is watching this because there going to a dealership in 11 week and still hasn't bought a box yet
What are you talking about?
@@MidwestToolReview im in ford asset and there sending us to work at a dealership im a few weeks and I need to buy a box
Umm, umm, umm, umm, that’s mainly what I heard threw out umm, ummm, umm,
None of these tools look used
That's because I take care of them!!! Unlike most, I 'm not in debt with my tools, and I'm not paying a tool truck bill each week. Therefore, I have the time and resources to take care of what I own!!! Take note of that
