I'm really surprised that this particular cycle is so often searched here.
This recording was made in Novosibirsk, where no one had played this piece before me.

Seriously though, I now live in St. Petersburg with a great desire to discover equally wonderful compositions. During the quarantine period, I found a lot of interesting notes and I hope to record them soon for my channel.

Incredibly good. I want to play provencale at our Christmas concert on the cello, but it's a bit tricky for me. She plays it so lightly, and it has to be like that to really work. Cello is not a 'lightly' kind of instrument. haha. This is by far the best version I've ever heard recorded professionally or otherwise. I love everything about this interpretation

Her Musette is better than Bashmet's. Lovely performance, I wish i could do it with such aplomb!

Her Musette is indeed good, but Bashmet is going for a different effect. It sounds like he is trying to imitate a hurdy gurdy, and is intentionally playing the instrument in a very primitive style. While Mariya does indeed play these pieces very well, Bashmet is more true to the performance practices in place when this piece was written.

@@MsDIKOBRAZZ ah ok . I print the same version and the musette is in f key . I wrote in c key. but you play in diferent octaves and sound much better.
