Whole heartedly agree with the sentiment. A thing I believe many people fail to realise is that every NBA player is a top 0.0001% basketball player on earth and have made the NBA for a reason. A lot of the NBA is completely situational (barring the top 20 or so players) and particularly regarding role players with 'unique' skill sets whether they become a valuable player or not is hugely attributed to whether they are in a system that allows for them to thrive. I always use Jordan Bell as an example of the phenomena as with the Warriors he was a handy 2nd round rookie that was an athletic rim finishing big and could satisfactorily fill up some rotation minutes. The thing that made him viable for the Warriors however was that he hugely benefited from playing alongside Steph, Klay and KD in the most spaced out offence in history and when that situation finally closed up and there was no market for his skill set he quickly fell out the league (obviously some off court factors in that too but situation was a huge part of why he looked so poor afterward).
