It used to be a place where independent creators could post their content (uncensored, at that) and get honest feedback from viewers. Now, it has turned into an overly censored, overly politicized corporate craphole. Nowadays, the independent creator doesn't stand a chance at gaining an audience or earning fair compensation for their hard work.
If he wanted to get a normal job and do UA-cam on the side like upload one video a week I still think he would make enough Revenue off his videos and his job to support himself play UA-cam used to be called the tube of you meaning it was about the content creator not about TV quality videos

What used to be a site about normal people making videos about things they're passionate about, as a hobby, has now become a corporate machine made to churn out constant soulless trash by talentless idiots purely to generate ad revenue.

He was "some guy" that reviewed music albums and bashed the good ones like Slipknot. Youve never seen or heard about him because he lacked personal talent, with the personality of a cabbage. He wont be missed. If at all remembered it will be "the angry old man who shouted at the clouds" imagine achieving nothing in 11 years. Thats an ironic achievement to be so underwhelming that his history can be put on the dumpster to be instantly forgettable. Wow

Not those dumpster fire, infantile, neanderthal metal bands like black sabbath, megadeth, Iron maiden - pretty much anything from the Uk in the 1980's us brits have really sucked at metal for the longest time. Any good metal is undoubtedly American, big shououts to Metallica, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Slayer etc i grew up on American Metal, it's undefeated.

@@DFinFracFort Yeah, definitely possible to do that without needing to have any expectation at all that he should have to come back for us. He seems to be at peace with his decision, has expressed his love for this community and what it means to him, and we have to do our best to respect that. The 100k would simply be a testament to what his videos in the last 12 years have meant to us.

Hi coverkillernation, i wanted to send this message on private, but then i think to send this on public.
I'm a guitarist for the Carnac band. For years we have been trying to make the music that we love and want to hear. A few years ago when you talked about us in a video I can say that I was blown up. It was probably one of the happiest moments of my life. A lot of people listened to our music and liked us. All this happened because of you. That's why you're totally different in my life. Now we're barely trying to run our group. You know, we're like new groups trying to move forward. But your contributions and support have always been a very different meaning to us. I'm so sorry you left UA-cam. But I believe you made the right choice for yourself. Your place for me and my group will always be very different. I'm sure it's important to you. In my opinion, those who are interested in all metal music and do not do it for money have one idea. It is to somehow influence the lives of others. You've had an impact on our lives and a lot of people. Thank you forever for that.

I found this guy a few days ago, started watching his Rank Em all videos, then listened to his #1 favorite album which is Aggaloch - The Mantle earlier tonight and damn near broke down listening to it. I'm a huge music lover myself spending 90% of what i make on CDs and vinyl, then i find someone cool like this and now he's leaving :( I understand he has to do what he has to do though so good luck to him. I'll keep watching your old material on my breaks at work to find some more awesome music :)

You used to watch CKN too? Small world - he was partially my inspiration for how I recorded my own content early on. There is just something authentic and endearing about recording an entire video in one take with little to no editing and he nailed it back in the day.

Man, this makes me so sad to see. I remember when I started, you were not only a huge inspiration for me starting this channel, but one of the first people from the community to support me. I'll never forget all of the good times in BlogTV, like when I believe it was a thousand subscriber stream and you had a bottle of wine to celebrate, after drinking a bit. You didn't have a cork screw, but I told you to push the cork in the bottle and holy shit. I'll never forget seeing the wine shoot up to the celing, covering you and you nearly pissing yourself laughing while screaming "DAMN IT, COUNT!". I'm gonna miss you, dude and seriously, thank you for the content, the many, many laughs and great memories.

@@riverevans726 hopefully some new faces in the community can pop up to hold the following decade onward. The metal community is in a bit of a lull despite guitar and bass' popularity on UA-cam. I think we need a bit more of a comedic/cynical type of content in regards to metal and just music in general

Same for me! Man, 8 years... I had my year at music study which was my best year ever and remember seeing his Steven Wilson reviews back then, I think that was when I first saw him. I got the class to do a cover of Porcupine Tree too at a concert. I miss those times more than anything... This video reminded me to not take anything for granted and that everything comes to an end eventually.. Enjoy every moment and live in the present

You've been a big part in shaping my love for this music and helping me find bands and albums. You thanked us many times but we should thank you man.
Me and you don't love the same sub genres of metal the same, but your opinions are always have seemed educated and thought out. I don't feel that with most music critics. I always looked forward to your opinions on albums. I'll miss that.
I started a podcast recently and can definitely credit you as an inspiration to put myself out there and talk about this music we love so much. I hope in the future you start a pod or at least make the streams somewhat frequent cause I really hate to see you go.
