I OWN THE MODX 6 Love it, best synth ive owned so far
Good choice for a first synth, Have fun with it.
Lovely...❤️
My also first synth was the MODX7, so far good, it takes a while to learn everything. Your video is informative.
Can you please tell what is the speaker/monitor used with the Modx ?
iLouds from IK multimedia; they do the job surprisingly well considering their small footprint!
Hey thanks for the video. Please can you tell me the name of track you play at the end of the video ? Thankks
Scott Joplin - The Entertainer; one of the first songs that got me interested in the piano!
@@jlohplays I am beginning :) i quiet hard for le now but it s a good objectif. Thanks ;)
hi there how much does it weight? and how long is the case?
Thanks in advance. Keyboard looking good!
I was thinking of getting the 61 keys cause of size and light weight
I think if you use this as a 2nd keyboard to complement your main keyboard, 61 keys is definitely enough.
From sweetwater, the dimensions for the 61 keys (MODX6) are:
Height: 5.27"
Width: 36.88"
Depth: 13.03"
Weight 14.9lbs
For the case dimensions, you can check here: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/YSCMODX6--yamaha-yscmodx6-soft-case-for-modx6
Hope that helps!
@@jlohplays Hey there. I finally got the modx6 and I am very happy with the purchase. I got it from a small store in Vacaville, ca. It was the floor demo. Looks Brand new! Got it for 1,240 out the door. Love the piano sounds! So much fun playing this board, has so much potential. SUPER LIGHT weight, 61 keys, easy to fit in any car or bike 8D. Will be playing live this week. We'll see how it goes.
I havent been able to connect to soundmondo yet. I'm using win10, chrome and also changed settings to midi. I'll figure it out.
Blessings
@@mauriciojavier98Glad to hear you're enjoying it; hope you have an awesome show!
Hey JLoh, how do you like the MODX7 so far? It seems to have pretty decent pianos. What was the cost in HK?
Hey Tony, thanks for the question!
When I first tried it at the store it was intimidating since I didn't know where to get all the samples but after getting used to it I started to feel more comfortable with it. I think I peeled away the first layer and understand how to use the samples, drum machine and recording but the second layer of mixing all the samples, micro-adjustments will take a bit of time.
The sounds themselves are quite decent but to find what you're looking for takes a bit of time of scrolling through it, pressing the demo button (very useful button and totally underrated!) and and hearing what sounds good.
At the moment it's HK$10,000~ discounted in HK which, for what it is and what it is capable of doing is an absolute steal!
Do you like the keybed? I have MODX6 and it's kind of frustrating for me! lol
I prefer the keybed of upright pianos cuz I play quite hard but considering I've also played a Roland:Go, this is a medium I can work with, just takes awhile to get used to
In which regard it is "frustrating"? To light or to heavy?
Organ players (like me) prefer no restistance. Also the key design is a different one on organs (no nose). After some years of training with an ePiano, I would say it depends on the kind of music, one is playing!!!
You are having slightly weighted keys; should be rather easy. But my MODX8 has GHS ... very hard to play ... something for well trained piano players ... for MY kind of music not fine.
Additional, as I came to know here, e.g. playing the "cfx piano" is not the same as on your machines. Without a sophisticated piano-play-technique there is no power in the cfx piano with GHS keys. Settings in the "velocity offset" can help ... but not with the cfx (sounds crappy then). I created some easy to play piano with No. 015.
i'd love to hear what people think of the keybed being too light or too heavy or just right on any of the modx+ models...
@@gagealbright oh, it's too light, for sure. It's almost like a PSR keybed. So you can have an idea what I'm talking about. The keybed of intermediate keyboards could be better, like a Top level keyboards like Motif for ex. In general, intermediate keyboards keybed are not good. Only in some models like Roland FA 07 it's a PRO keybed.
@@ChordFreak I mean it's too light keys! It's almost like a PSR, so you can have an idea what I'm saying. About GHS keys, they're heavy keys - good to play Acoustic piano... but for that, I prefer to have a dedicated digital piano, in my case I have a Roland RD700GX. The keybed is fantastic, and the piano sound too (I prefer Roland in acoustic piano sound). In light keys, it could be like Motif series keys: they are not so cheap plastic light keys, and not so heavy keybed.
Todo el video sacándolo de la caja 😂
Hey JLoh, please remember to share and tip and tricks here...
Do you have a dust cover for when it's not in use and if so what do you use?
A video showing how to open a package!? interesting😅
And still happy with it? I am not. Okay, the sounds are awsome. I have the 88 ... maybe "best of" for some people ... whereby I'm wondering what they had before; a melodica?😅 ... many, many wrong things in this MODX.
don't have speakers?
How many keys..??
y should wait a little for the modx plus 🥹
This is the musician equivalent of "hey guys, I'm picking up my first car - a Ferrari F8!"
You give the modx too much credit, imagine if I bought a nord xD
@@jlohplays A Ferrari F8 with furry dice? 😂
