  • Expats moving or living in the Czech Republic may experience a degree of culture shock. Although the country is open to internationals especially in Central Europe, it was under the capitalist regime for 33 years which had a huge influence on some of the traditions and practices that new arrivals may need time to get accustomed to. One of these culture shocks in the customer service. A survey by the telecommunications firm Genesys estimates that Czech businesses lose about 1.08 billion US dollars annually because of substandard customer service. And most expats have shared some of their “horror” stories pertaining to customer service received at shops, restaurants, government offices, doctors, gym etc . I talk with Kelsey Roman as we continue our conversation on some of these culture shocks we experienced when we moved to the Czech Republic
