I'd say focus on S planes & stands (the ones without terminal), grind all on DHC6 until you're overwhelmed and have enough money to buy both M and L gates (you'll get Caribbean 737 and many a330 as level reward) buy X gates late game (just keep those random a380 arrivals stored, keep in mind random arrival and player contract is different, random arrival gives 1-2 exp while player contract gives lots, you get them when you finished 10 handlings, random arrival planes returns to it's owner automatically despite them being stored in your contract sheet, player contract however the owner needs to manually tell the plane to go back and it WILL go back to owner's airport where you can't handle the plane)

Handle mostly M planes and the bigger the better because they give more XP and you may want some close planes to get regular.
i had 1 million wollars before i got LHR, SXM was for me a hard grand alwats playing for 9 hours straight just to get 1 lever or maybe 2
