Just goes to show what a good job this country is doing to support it's civilians. Let's hope America doesnt get involved and mess things up like they have done in Libya, Iraq and Syria.
Surely it would make common sense considering how much fragile supplies, samples and vials would prove. The idea of using large landing nets woven by prisoners and measuring 10 X 5 metres it could serve as emergency landing net for damaged (in flight) drones.
Is there something wrong with using prison labour for rewarding work for the good of the community - it beats lounging around for hours on end in their cells - it also means that they can put something back into the community from which they've taken from in their past. Given that most of you are totally unaware of prison existence (AS IT IS NOT LIFESTYLE of choice)< many would welcome the chance to do something positive for the entire community
Ok, it's no evil to give this job to the prisoners. But is it really a vital part of your plan? :) We have machinery to do it much faster. This is also the reason that we produce more than we consume. It leads to high unemployement, too. I'm sure you can find a lot of people outside of jails who will do this job for a small pay.
THERE is a stronger work ethic among intelligent prisoners. Certainly some machines can make nets faster, but then you cannot get quality assurances of manufactured nets which with manually made ones. Giving the job to apathetic workers, means that they will do so much, then stop. Prisoners willl want to stay outte their cells, so will work harder to attain goals (meagre pay bonus). You also give a new skill to people when released can go to places where fishermen need fast repairs done by skilled people which cannot be done whilst at sea themselves. SOccer goal nets, shopping bags, are all items which could be made by prisoners for pin money. But then African prisons are unusual places, one I visited suffered from a terrible issue with the double fenceline around it. Even prisoners were working alongside contractors to resolve & replace the double fenceline. What was their problem? Escapees, no, said the warden VISITORS AT MEALTIMES! They would bring booze in & stay the whole night! Well I can understand why prisoners wanted quiet!

Prisoners seem to be an important part of this plan
