That Moment Was So Well written and acted. scenes like that. Are why i loved this season. ( Children see and remember things differently Then Adults do. and as she is re-remembering the moment on the Surface and Being in Shock. As all the Other Truth Bombs hit her! (No pun lol) everything in her Life turned upside down in One Conversation, Was Great. And she did not have time to process the whole thing to even stop Maximus. From freeing Her Father.
Yes there's a lot of hints like that, like when they leave Vault 4 she says her father would never allow her to end the life of hundreds of people just to save him. Guess we have bad news about it...

I just put something together yesterday: Cooper's ex-wife said that Vault-Tec should drop the bomb themselves. So, when the bombs dropped in episode 1, Cooper KNEW that it was Vault-Tec. Barb had convinced them to go through with it. That scene hits so different know.
I wonder if negotiations between vault tec and the other companies broke down. Barb would have made sure her family was sheltered before the bombs dropped.
Vault-Tec planned on dropping the bomb, but i wonder if they did. If you know when the bomb is going to drop on that day would you have your daughters away from the protection of the vaults with her dad on that day ?
You can imagine how Maldeva survived all these years if you paid attention to what she said in the flashbacks. She is a rich woman and scientist. So it shouldn't be a problem for someone who is able to build a cold fusion reactor to build a cryochamber. You don't get a headache to be able to think so far. In the end, Max and Lucy got what they wanted, but neither of them is happy with it. Lucy found her father and Max became a knight.

I don't think 31 is where Vault-Tec's executives are. Hank's title in the display on his cryo bed was "Executive Assistant". Bud's plan was to maintain Vault-Tec's *middle management* to oversee the vault projects while the actual executives slept waiting for their day to reclaim the surface.
I agree - Vault 31 is for his 'buds' and NOT for higher management. A lot of them were trainees. He wouldn't be telling HIS boss to go into that vault.
The Enclave actually has access to every vault and every terminal in those vaults. That’s where Michael Emerson’s character escaped from and why he knew so much about Lucy and Vault 33.
@@SLITHERIS because the enclave started as the people left from the US government before the Great War. They had access because the vaults being built were a government project.
Yeah, I felt bad for her, season 2 Lucy might have a whole different personality after everything that she just learned, it might take a toll of her in this dark world, I hope she doesn’t change optimistic ways about herself 🥺❤️

Something I noticed '' Betty'' from Vault 31 (Was the Young Receptionist in Vault -Tec who Interduces Cooper and ''Young Henry '' As he is Listening to The Vault Tec meeting) And Its Possible Lucy's Father Contacted the Conclave so they May have sent a Target List to the Brotherhood of steel to Destroy Shady sand's after Hank (Got his 2 Children back to the Vault that is) And why Maximus would have seen the Knight as soon as the Carnage was over. He could not have been in that insulated Refrigerator for Long before he see's that Knight who ''Saved'' him . (I think in season 2 Max may find out His own cult has Destroyed His First Home?) Just Like Lucy found out Her own Father Destroyed her Life. By his actions ( Not just 200 years ago but also as a child!) Very tragic and Great writing! Loved it.
You mean enclave? They're usually at war with the BoS, two different factions. But yeah I also thought, BoS knight there was very suspicious, and they are the kind of organisation that would nuke a town.
@@Mocsk The Brotherhood destroys technology deemed too dangerous or uncontrollable, like nuclear weapons or even Synths. Their whole goal is to prevent another nuclear apocalypse, so nuking an entire city would defeat that purpose.
its safe to assume Moldaver survived in one of those cryo tubes we saw in Vault 4 when Lucy was poking around. That would explain why Sandy Shores was where she helped build the NCR Capital, being close to the vault they had. This is probably also why those current residents still worshiped her as a savior type.
The fact that most of the vaults were failures in the games while the surface always remained makes their choice even sadder, and all they can do is Denial, just like Hank said to Lucy."
this is the part that has me like, so invested in the heart of the story as a new fan that is gonna get into the lore because of the show. it truly shows how corporate greed and the idea of ultimate control is always lesser compared to the indomitable human spirit. in a way lucy embodies that too
Muldaver is still a mystery but either she bought her way in (she does mention at one point hypocrisy is worse if only your enemy gets to use it) , or because she developed the cold fusion tec vault tec made arrangements to freeze her
I think the cryotube chambers were developed by one of Muldaver's companies that got taken over by Vault-Tec, so she knew all about them, how they function and had her own.
Whoever was looking down at Barb that got her to say her speech in that warroom is also a Enclave memeber. I think the show is slowly building toward the Enclave pre war basucally behind everything. Playing BOTH sides in the war and in the post war to build their facist utopia using the coporatuons and facrions againdt them
Moldaver wasn't working with the Enclave. She was working with Wilzig, and while he is in the Enclave, it seems pretty clear he doesn't share their values. As to how she survived, if she cracked cold fusion, it's not much of a stretch that she could build her own cryo-chamber and safe place to ride out the bombs.

The Ghoul: Cooper Howard after 219 years had finally found a lead on the where abouts of his family by meeting Vault 33's former overseer, Henry "Hank" MacLean who before the war was Barbra's executive assistant who has fled the LA area to New Vegas for unknown reasons decides to follow him there. Lucy: With the revelations of her mother and the destruction of Shady Sands by her father and how Vault-Tec caused the apocalypse 219 years ago understood that to make a real difference in the world is by bringing down Vault- Tec and their ally's once and for all and has decided to accompany Cooper Howard in tracking down her father as the first step. Lucy no longer goes by the name MacLean as her relationship with her father died with her mother and has started to adopt her mother's maiden name as her last name. So ends the first chapter of The Child of Vault-Tec, but her story is far from over. Vegetius once said: If you want peace, prepare for war. For War... War Never Changes.
Got a feeling Betty's going into 31 to grab Norm. I think she wants to bring Norm into the fold. The looks she gives him, knowing what he's doing is like 'check out this lil vault dweller showing some balls'. Him wanting to kill the raiders clearly impressed the vault 31 dwellers and suddenly paid a lot of attention to him.
As someone with zero knowledge of this universe before watching the show, I'm surprised at just how invested I've become in these characters and everyone's backstories! I LOVE the dark humour, the music, the retro-futuristic style, and I am really impressed with the writing and acting throughout! Been a blast watching your reactions to this show and I can't wait for whatever S2 brings us! Great job, sir!
For those who haven’t played the games, this episode dropped two HUGE pieces of lore. Shady Sands and the NCR were a major location & faction in the first two games so for it to be destroyed is a *big* deal. And I believe this is the first *official* confirmation that Vault-Tec and its cabal were the ones who set off the nukes. I love that they didn’t set out to adapt the games but instead created a new chapter that adds to the overall story.
I actually don't think they dropped them themselves per se, but in their attempts to keep tensions artificially high between China and the US the bombs dropped earlier than planned. Spoilers below: That would explain why the Platinum Chip arrived too late despite Mr House sitting in on the meetings and knowing when it would happen, along with why some Vaults never finished construction. Maybe it was planned for 2080, not 2077?

I think Moldeva was probably in vault 4 .Either as one of the scientists, or possibly as a test subject. That would explain her access to cryo chambers as well as Shady Sands.
I have watched 2 TV Series with Kyle MacLachlan and what's weird - in both of them he plays crazy father that wants "the best" (by his thinking) for his daughter

The composer is Ramin Djawadi, who also composed Westworld’s music, which is also incredibly beautiful. Watching this episode I actually got a hint of Westworld notes and that’s what led to me IMDb where it says he was also the composer for Game of Thrones, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Eternals, Blade Trinity, and on and on. I have no idea if you watched Westworld, but having seen it, I recognized that Jonathan Nolan has a bit of a signature way of storytelling. Take a mystery that goes deeper and deeper and deeper, and gets darker and darker, and he just gives you enough crumbs and small reveals that make you go “WTF?!” to pull you along to the larger ones that blow your mind. Can’t wait for S2!
"Fans" of source material often accidentally or deliberately twist and misinterpret facts to prompt or validate their hate for an adaptation. It's the main reason I'm convinced most aren't really fans but outsiders who searched for any kind of justification for their interference with the enjoyment by other people.
The way everything came together in the end was perfect. And i even got choked up a little bit when Lucy started feeling betrayed and realizing her mother was the ghoul at the table. Its gonna be a long wait until season 2
Mr. House, the representative of RobCo in the company meeting scene, was the leader of New Vegas. Since the show happens after the events of the game and New Vegas seems to be destroyed, I don't know why Hank would be going there, but there are a lot of possibilities, just not something we can know for sure right now.
Mr House went against Vault Tech by destroying the bombs meant for Las Vagus and took total control of the vaults he oversaw. Maybe Hank thinks Mr Houses computers may contain some vittle information he needs.
They’re gonna have to answer what actually happened in NV, which will be… difficult. But I would like to see some of the other characters from that game as most would probably be still alive??

The bombing of Shady Sands is petty as fuck, because it wasn't even because they were getting too powerful for Vault-Tec's liking, it was literally just Hank being a little bitch about how his wife left his ass and took the kids and they were happy without him.
Buds Buds are not executives, they are middle managers. They are basically breeding yes men, so that the executives will have people to run things for them, when they come out of their vaults, which we know nothing about.
In the end credits of episode 5 there's a library card in Shady Sands elementary with the last entry in November 2276. Kind of a strong indication that the town was nuked shorty after. It's unlikely "the fall" was so sudden that for at least 4 years the school was completely abandoned, yet there was no indication of any serious problems in the capital from NCR in New Vegas (in fact Shady Sands is referenced several times as business as usual pretty much). Most likely it's just oversight. Or maybe it's not the original Shady Sands, because the original was almost directly east of San Francisco, not in LA. May be they resettled for some reason (in New Vegas there were indications of agriculture problems and desertification "in the west"). Also, remember that scene where Norm asks Betty what happened to his mother's pip-boy, and she says "I buried her myself, me and your father"? That woman is scary af on a rewatch.
Oh yeah, and the idea of vaults as social experiments for future use in post-apocalyptic world is from Fallout 2. It's not described in as much detail and straightforward as in the show, after all the character divulging this information does it in passing while rambling about how great it would be to kill everyone again and repopulate America (common theme in Fallout :) ). I would strongly suggest playing 1 and 2 at some point, focusing as much as possible on written lore and dialogue, both games are really good even with outdated interface and mechanics.
There were supposed to be several "Control" Vaults which didn't have any sort of experiments planned for them. Vaults 76 & 101 where 2 such vaults but it also seems that several vaults went totally out of control and didn't do what they were supposed to. I've always wondered what the purpose of the experiments where because there was no indication in the games how the results where being collected and managed, I even tried to make my own Fallout 3 mod with an Executive vault to answer that quest but in my mod the Vault Tech Execs never got into it so there was no control over the experiments.
Its been a while since I seen it but I thought in Fallout 4, at the start when you're in the vault just after you find a gun and have to look through the terminal to open the door, you can read a text on the terminal that says that experiment data would be sent to vault tec to be logged, but did not expand on it at all. (maybe there is another vault for these vault tec scientists to log experiment data exclusively?)
@@Cawmeravn Basically the Vaults have two experiences by two groups. Vault Tech was trying find the best way to survive while the Enclave was using them to test life in space for their planned spaceship to leave the planet.
The OG concept (old school Fallout player here) was originally about learning how society could survive living long-term in an enclosed society. The purpose of the data was to help prepare for a generation ship that could colonize another planet. That's murky enough in any official "canon" content, that it wasn't 100% sure (IIRC), so Bethesda can take it wherever they want. There was a "Vault 0" in the game Fallout Tactics that was the central hub of the whole vault network. It would be the "special vault for management" that Barb referred to. Tactics isn't generally considered a fully canon game, so they might use the general concept in the current canon, but give it a new spin. 31 was for Bud's Buds who were junior level executives and assistants in the executive training program and part of Bud's specific 3 vault experiment. Barb would have been in a different vault if she was in the vault that would oversee all of the other vaults (Vault 0 if they keep that concept). Yes, it's still an open question on how Muldaver survived. Given her access to technology, she could have had her own cryo chamber/facility. Some of the vaults were "control vaults" designed to work exactly as advertised - keep some humans alive and safe, then open up a few decades later to rebuild.
4/18/24 Great episode. Pretty much tied up all the loose ends with good explanations about things. I like that because now when you go back and rewatch the season you'll pick up on all the clues and many things will have more significance now that they didn't have before. This show started off being really good and ended up being absolutely great. The last 3 episodes were all super strong. Very strong ending to the season. This episode is my second favorite and another 10/10. Looking forward to season 2. Hopefully they do a week to week release instead.
Kind of poetic Lucy was thinking of blowing up the observatory, much like Hank blew up Shady Sands. But that she wasn't raised that way. If only she knew, she probably would have blew the whole place up.
27:15 in Fallout 2 is when the bring up the Vault experiments for the first time, and it's similar, but specifically suggested the social data would be used for managing the population of a generation ship to colonize another planet.
Here is what I assume happened. The water was being siphoned off causing a famine. We know one happened in 33 as well as 32. 31 people decided to sacrifice 32, by using them as food to keep 33 alive till they could get things going again.
the problem with that is the year is 2296 and the famine was in 2277. Vault 32 died 2 years ago (2294). 2277 was the same year Rose (lucy's mom) escaped and took Lucy and her brother and then Hank nuked Shady Sands and got his kids back. I was thinking the famine was a lie/cover up. but you are right on the water being syphoned, so there might have been a famine. would explain how some of the older dwellers who aren't 31 plants wouldn't question it. They may have faked a famine by withholding rations or whatever.. in order to cover up Rose's death. I think the dwellers in 32 actually attacked and killed each other when their crops actually failed 2 years prior. maybe 33 began to syphon from 32 which overtaxed their water chip... not sure.
@@gravybate2283 i don't think so. 32 def looked like they did it themselves. the video on the tv talking about what mice do in isolation makes me think 32 was an experiment and 33 was the control vault.
@@TheEpicSpire Pretty sure 32s experiment was/is overpopulation. The video Norm and Chet finds mentions it about the rats (which House calls the vault-dwellers at the meeting), then at the meeting he also talks about a vault experimenting with overpopulation.
Vault Tec had a backup plan about dropping the bomb, but the Chinese beat them to the punch. Vault 0 is the main administrative Vault. We havent seen Vault 0 in the games yet. In game pretty much every faction wants to wipe out all the other factions leaving them in charge. I never thought of Vault Tec as a faction themselves until this show. Loved the show and loved your reactions
I get that people think Maximus might've injured Dane at the very start, but I don't get how you can keep thinking that up until Dane confesses that they did it themselves. The first people Maximus meets after he gets the power armor he just intervenes between two people, and tells them to leave. He only ever starts shooting once he gets to Filly because he's trying to be a knight, and put a stop to Cooper's attack on the town. He's explicitly *not* like the knights, it doesn't make sense for him to injure Dane, and he said he didn't under threat of death by the brotherhood.
“You wouldn’t hurt a fly” Maximus got a bad rap because people assumed he was tainted from being from the surface, in many respects he is a reflection of Lucy. His conduct as a “Knight” should have clues people in that he had his own ideals.
@@greywarden5513 I mean, it's not subtle throughout the show that maximus is decent, but not perfect. Dane admitting in the final episode that they hurt themselves shouldn't be some revelation, they're just confessing to the brotherhood, not the audience.
@@ISavant Well it (Max potentially having inserted the razor) was up for debate when compared to the backdrop of Maximus letting Titus expire but the more the show goes on it reinforces the type of person he is, not perfect, but generally a good guy who wants to do good.

In one of many dark bits of foreshadowing, Betty tells Norm that she and Hank buried Rose themselves in an earlier episode when Norm is asking what happened to his mom's pip boy. Buried is one way of putting it...
I cannot wait for New Vegas in Season 2! I just hope they somewhat respect Obsidians Work and not totally ignore it. Seeing the City and Pre-War Robert House in the final episode made me go crazy with excitement.
Tod just did an interview saying new vegas is entirely Canon to the show. And the NCR is not done yet. It looks like new vegas is gonna be fucked up and maybe the characters bring the power back with the cold fusion tech or something. It was established In the game that Nevada and California can trade power
I think they have a lot of love for NV, but they simply centered the first season around Fallout 3-76 iconography just because it'll attract the most viewers.

I think Hank is going to see Mr House. House wanted to use a starship to colonize other planets, he may have been using the data from the vaults to help with that goal.

You know what's funny? Shady Sands was founded by the dwellers of Vault 15 lol. Their lore is that they were mostly peaceful until a gang forced the main door off its hinges during a riot that left the Overseer dead. Since nobody else knew about the Vault's secret mission, and there was no way to close the door, the remaining Vault Dwellers left 15 and eventually founded Shady Sands. The rioters regrouped and formed the gang known as the Great Khans, who would continue to harass Shady Sands and the larger NCR as they grew and expanded, ultimately forcing them to continuously move east.
26:05 and with Maximus getting the title, he might have officially have some sway in the brotherhood. Infiltrate from within to try to influence it to become somehow better. And ESPECIALLY when they have infinite energy at their hands, Max will have to reign in the Brotherhood’s drunkenness in power as best as he could 🙁
Even by Brotherhood standards, this Elder Cleric has ideas WAY above his station and outside of the bounds the Brotherhood is supposed to stand for. I wonder if we might see a Brotherhood civil war at some point.

Despite essentially defecting, he has as much reason to want to bring it down cuz some day a knight will gun him down for simply being a ghoul. Plus Thaddeus knows his way with radio, so he just might communicate with Max to plan things out in secret 🤫
I wonder if Maximus gaining SOME power within the BoS will negatively influence him. He’s shown to be opportunistic and having a dark side of his own. It’d be interesting to see him become Lucy’s foil
True talk. The BOS will be his chains to keep him in the back of the story at least for season 2, next time we see him, I could see the BOS being steered by creepy grandpa in not the best direction, BUT the Knights themselves adopting Maximus’ ideology.
the city the NCR was in was ARROYO, if you pay attention to the buildings it matches the same one in the fallout 2 ending slides, and if you and further proof, the cold fusion generators is a devices that can only be found inside the The Garden of Eden creation kit and only place has one besides vault city that has a functioning G.E.C.K is ARROYO.
The fact that back in the day Cooper didn’t want to shoot the “bad guy”.. but they made him do it. The Ghoul could easily kill Henry... we WANT him to kill Henry.. but Cooper just grazes him purposely so we can get a vengeance quest in Season 2 with Cooper, Lucy and Dogmeat! LOVED this show and your reactions ♥️
I always assumed that Dane did it to themselves, but it was neat to get that confirmed at last. But what I find more interesting, which I had a conversation o Facebook about after I had watched episode 4, was that I compared this show to Westworld. And that Lucy reminds me of Dolores there, and I even speculated about Lucy might end up killing father figures, since that is what Dolores did, and even Ella Purnell as Jinx did that basically in Arcane too.
Fallout 1 and 2 are so hard to play without going through 100 pages of a PDF that originally was given in printed form when the games 1st released in the 90s. If they were to ever do a remake, Fallout 1 and 2 should take priority so it's playable in today's world. The learning curve is insane but the story of Shady Sands is in the beginning of the series. I didn't get as far in Fallout 3 before I stopped to play New Vegas and Fallout 4, but I feel like I'm going to put more time in Fallout 4 as I'm really digging it. Then I'll get into New Vegas for sure before season 2, and try to finish out Fallout 3 eventually. I'm jumping around with these on Steam, as it's my only gaming platform.
I doubt Shady Sands was "bombed". It is built on top of a vault that had a Nuclear Reactor, and in Fallout 2 you have the option of blowing up the reactor and destroying Shady Sands, so I think Hank took that approach.
It’s already been renewed for season 2. Although Amazon has gone back on renewals before. But this show has so much buzz that I can’t see them doing that here.
There are currently 6 main Fallout games. 3 good ones, 3 bad ones... rule of thumb: Bethesda hasn't made a good one yet. So Fallout 1, Fallout 2 & Fallout: New Vegas are really good games ^^*
Each Vault has it's own programmer and therefore, it's own reclamation date. So the team for 76 had it pretty soon after the bombs dropped, and we don't know when people were supposed to be unfrozen in Fallout 4 because they were all killed before the reclamation date. Some vaults were never meant to open because the experiment was never to really reintroduce those inside to the world again. It really was a lottery unless you were actually Vault Tec, and even then.... not guaranteed.
I don't think Coop's familiy is in 31. Look what Vaultec did to Bud. Coop's wife is upper management, I think, above Bud. She will probably be where Hank is going.
I got that feeling too. The table is set for a dinner for 2 for Moldaver and the ghoul, and there is the way Moldaver describes Lucy's mother being kind loving Curious.

talk to people that played the original games by black isle, The Vaults were a Test for how humans would act in isolation, the purpose was for Long range space travel until they could colonize a habitable planet.
Lucy mentioned reclamation day having already happened without them because of society "coming back" with things like the NCR. Not because they'd missed some arbitrary day they were supposed to start restoring society. It's clear that at least these 3 vaults were not planning to open up for a while, as the surface was not in the desired state.
Reclamation Day is a thing in the lore though there is even a date for the control vaults. It's the day the Vault dwellers reenter the surface and kickstart society which did already happen in the games. Lucy's vault was lied to and purposefully kept out of that as this vault had it's own directive. Most of the vaults that were meant to open have long since opened.
They basically told us the vault reveal. “Everyone wants to save the world. They disagree on how”. Each vault was an idea, an experiment to see if it was the RIGHT idea. To “save” the world. But because of who’s ideas they were, none really worked. I don’t game and I had no preconceived ideas. But I think this was pretty brilliant.
The dinky little car is a real thing, a Messerschmitt (yes, same company that made planes) KR201 - a class of car referred to in the UK as bubble cars (Heinkel and BMW did their own different designs too). In the UK and Europe they typically had 3 wheels but I think they might have had to have 4 in North America… Cooper is driving a US Kaiser Darrin.
32:46 yep he’s going to Robert House’s domain, the founder of Rob-co. Robert preserved himself through technology like Vault-Tec and he’s ESPECIALLY dangerous. He utilized his own platform of missile launchers to fend off as many bombs when they first dropped and his securitron robot army also have their own personal rocket launchers built into them. 😅 House is a big bad in Fallout New Vegas, supposedly a couple years before the events of the show. So it might depend on the show in season 2 if House was defeated or not, whoever is the one to take after House (the courier the protagonist from FNV or a faction), or if it’s been left abandoned as it kinda looks like in this teaser.
Answering what happened in FNV will be tricky. My thoughts: House probably got his mail delivered and kept NV as its own thing protected by his Robos. The Second Battle of Hoover Dam is another matter. Given that shady sands seems to have been destroyed in around the timeframe of fallout 3, I don’t want to see the NCR take 2 large L’s in quick succession. HOWEVER, Caesars Legion would make FANTASTIC cannon fodder bad guys for cooper and Lucy. That aside, I want them to run into the other factions as well (my secret hope is Joshua Graham cameo for Lucy to hear some uplifting words).
@@TimeCircleBlue I have 3 ideas for how they dealt with New Vegas. At the end of Ep 8 you can see that New Vegas appears to abandoned and desolate and the wall is broken down. So I am assuming Mr. House will be dead and Caesar too since I doubt he lived 15 more years with brain cancer. Case A: Caesars Legion took over the Mohave and New Vegas, but I doubt that Caesar would still be alive in 2296. This would go along with the NCRs downfall. They were already thin after the first Hoover Dam war, and loosing a 2nd war would be disastrous for them. Case B: Mr. House or the Courier took over the Mohave, but between then and now either the Enclave or BoS wiped them out. Case C: The Courier destroys Hoover Dam, and New Vegas is abandoned shortly thereafter. This would also make the matter of cold fusion power more important.
Bud's car is called Flea a Corvega model. The guy representing Robco is Robert House New Vegas. And the brain on a roomba is Bud. Well in Fallout 1 Aradesh was the leader of Shady Sands. His daughter Tandy became a the self proclaimed benefactor of Shady Sands and would go on create the New California Republic through what the vault dweller from vault 13 in game 1 and the successor in Fallout 2. It would have been nice to see a live deathclaw in season 1 but I'm sure they didn't want to overload people new to the world for the same reason the Enclave wasn't mentioned much.
I’m pretty sure Hank joined the Brotherhood to nuke Shady Sands since they’re at war and it makes sense that’s why the Brotherhood have a base here and not the NCR military which is incidentally not around
So this takes places 15 years after new vegas. I cant wait to see what ending of NV they decided to go with as "canon". Considering the NCR is toast. Ceasar's Legend? I feel like the Mr House cameo implies he will come back as in charge. Its also nice to know 111's sole survivor is still kicking it in the common wealth (supposing they didn't die in the last 10ish years). Will we get a Minutemen General? Will the Institute show up to check out this power source? Synths? Freaking hype.
My money is on either the destruction of Hoover Dam and the abandonment of NV, or it was taken over by House/Courier, but destroyed by the Enclave or BoS sometime between then and 2296. I doubt the Institute is still around since the Prydwen is in the show, and it gets destroyed if you help the institute, but survives if you side with the BoS or the Minutemen.
I would be glad to watch you play Fallout 3, New Vegas, or Fallout 4. I believe 3 is my favorite because it has the most quests with moral dilemmas and the various outcomes. It also has random encounters in the world whereas in 4 most of the enemies are staged so you always know whatever will be there. I think it is more fun when it's random

In my opinion Lucy is the anomaly in their "Matrix", (I couldn't think of another way to explain what I meant quickly). In those 3 Pods they taught their children all the wholesome things humanity is supposed to believe in, well when it comes to Lucy they did their job to well cause she believes in ALL of it. So in her mind ya'll said: "this is how society should be to each other when we resurface," and that's how it's going to be or she's gonna die trying!😂😂😂😂 I really like the story, I never knew anything about this game. When it came out I was into Resident Evil, Parasite Eve, Abe's Odyssey, and Mortal Kombat. I personally think Hank McLean is going after Mr. House, the Rob Co CEO who was in that scene with Cooper's wife. House was a major part of Fallout New Vegas and I'd highly recommend playing it because a lot of the info in Fallout New Vegas is definitely gonna come up in S2 of the show
I think they mentioned life extension earlier in the show. They might have meant the cryochambers, but I think that there is more going on with that. I think Muldavia is a clue to that so that the ghouls family can still be alive and not asleep. I also think you hit on the main value(to the show) of having different companies controlling different vaults. You can explain away almost any inconsistencies between vaults by simply saying different companies ran them. Especially since you won't know which ones were run by which company.
Theory: The guy who was putting sand in the water purifier.... was he close enough that he could of been the cause of the water leak of the vault? He didnt know how it worked so maybe he figured sand = water?

You can imagine how Maldeva survived all these years if you paid attention to what she said in the flashbacks. She is a rich woman and scientist. So it shouldn't be a problem for someone who is able to build a cold fusion reactor to build a cryochamber. You don't get a headache to be able to think so far.
In the end, Max and Lucy got what they wanted, but neither of them is happy with it. Lucy found her father and Max became a knight.

I don't think 31 is where Vault-Tec's executives are. Hank's title in the display on his cryo bed was "Executive Assistant". Bud's plan was to maintain Vault-Tec's *middle management* to oversee the vault projects while the actual executives slept waiting for their day to reclaim the surface.
I agree - Vault 31 is for his 'buds' and NOT for higher management. A lot of them were trainees. He wouldn't be telling HIS boss to go into that vault.
The Enclave actually has access to every vault and every terminal in those vaults. That’s where Michael Emerson’s character escaped from and why he knew so much about Lucy and Vault 33.

Moldaver wasn't working with the Enclave. She was working with Wilzig, and while he is in the Enclave, it seems pretty clear he doesn't share their values. As to how she survived, if she cracked cold fusion, it's not much of a stretch that she could build her own cryo-chamber and safe place to ride out the bombs.

Siggi Wilzig and CX404 aka Dogmeat: With the death of Doctor Siggi Wilzig, his companion CX404 or Dogmeat as others call her has decided to accompany Lucy and forms an attachment as she did for Wilzig before her.
Filly: With the help of NCR and The Brotherhood of Steel, Filly rebuilds from the damages the fight between Maximus and The Ghoul and provides protection from any further incidents from raiders to cutthroat mercenaries.
Vault 4: Vault 4 and its residents continue on their daily lives, until the death of Lee Moldaver reaches them, and the vault goes into chaos with the death of their prophet. Those who survived, return to the surface and traveled to Sacramento, The Capital City of the New California Republic to restart their lives as they did in Shady Sands.
Thaddeaus: Thaddeus's transformation as a Ghoul could have made life hard for the former Squire, but instead, being found by the Followers of the Apocalypse was welcomed and became a combat medic to help those in need. Avoiding any sightings of the Brotherhood fearing of facing retaliation for desertion and possibly sharing Brotherhood secrets though has never committed to this day.
Dane: Despite recent events, Dane had become Squire of the newly promoted Knight Maximus where they both will both fight side by side against whatever threat comes next.
Lee Moldaver: Lee Moldaver who's lived for over 200 years remains a mystery. A secret she will take to her grave. But, not before achieving her goal of creating Cold Fusion as a limitless source of power in the hope will be the first step to everlasting peace.
Brotherhood of Steel: The Brotherhood despite suffering heavy losses, successfully captured the Griffith Observatory from Moldaver's raiders and have gained a foot hold in the LA County area with the Cold Fusion reactor powering the city.
Maximus: Though the hard work, meticulous luck and experience he had been through, Maximus has achieved the rank of Knight within the Brotherhood and decides to remain with them in the hope to take the first step to shape the Brotherhood into the ideal image that inspired him as a child long ago.
The Ghoul: Cooper Howard after 219 years had finally found a lead on the where abouts of his family by meeting Vault 33's former overseer, Henry "Hank" MacLean who before the war was Barbra's executive assistant who has fled the LA area to New Vegas for unknown reasons decides to follow him there.
Lucy: With the revelations of her mother and the destruction of Shady Sands by her father and how Vault-Tec caused the apocalypse 219 years ago understood that to make a real difference in the world is by bringing down Vault- Tec and their ally's once and for all and has decided to accompany Cooper Howard in tracking down her father as the first step. Lucy no longer goes by the name MacLean as her relationship with her father died with her mother and has started to adopt her mother's maiden name as her last name.
So ends the first chapter of The Child of Vault-Tec, but her story is far from over. Vegetius once said: If you want peace, prepare for war. For War... War Never Changes.
Got a feeling Betty's going into 31 to grab Norm. I think she wants to bring Norm into the fold. The looks she gives him, knowing what he's doing is like 'check out this lil vault dweller showing some balls'. Him wanting to kill the raiders clearly impressed the vault 31 dwellers and suddenly paid a lot of attention to him.
As someone with zero knowledge of this universe before watching the show, I'm surprised at just how invested I've become in these characters and everyone's backstories! I LOVE the dark humour, the music, the retro-futuristic style, and I am really impressed with the writing and acting throughout! Been a blast watching your reactions to this show and I can't wait for whatever S2 brings us! Great job, sir!
For those who haven’t played the games, this episode dropped two HUGE pieces of lore. Shady Sands and the NCR were a major location & faction in the first two games so for it to be destroyed is a *big* deal. And I believe this is the first *official* confirmation that Vault-Tec and its cabal were the ones who set off the nukes.
I love that they didn’t set out to adapt the games but instead created a new chapter that adds to the overall story.
Remember, they sayd they were willing to drop the bombs themselves, doesnt mean they droped them.

The composer is Ramin Djawadi, who also composed Westworld’s music, which is also incredibly beautiful. Watching this episode I actually got a hint of Westworld notes and that’s what led to me IMDb where it says he was also the composer for Game of Thrones, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Eternals, Blade Trinity, and on and on.
I have no idea if you watched Westworld, but having seen it, I recognized that Jonathan Nolan has a bit of a signature way of storytelling. Take a mystery that goes deeper and deeper and deeper, and gets darker and darker, and he just gives you enough crumbs and small reveals that make you go “WTF?!” to pull you along to the larger ones that blow your mind. Can’t wait for S2!

Omni! Commenting before watching a reaction to say I'm hoping you're going to love it and absolutely be floored.
"Fans" of source material often accidentally or deliberately twist and misinterpret facts to prompt or validate their hate for an adaptation. It's the main reason I'm convinced most aren't really fans but outsiders who searched for any kind of justification for their interference with the enjoyment by other people.
The way everything came together in the end was perfect. And i even got choked up a little bit when Lucy started feeling betrayed and realizing her mother was the ghoul at the table. Its gonna be a long wait until season 2
Mr. House, the representative of RobCo in the company meeting scene, was the leader of New Vegas. Since the show happens after the events of the game and New Vegas seems to be destroyed, I don't know why Hank would be going there, but there are a lot of possibilities, just not something we can know for sure right now.
Mr House went against Vault Tech by destroying the bombs meant for Las Vagus and took total control of the vaults he oversaw. Maybe Hank thinks Mr Houses computers may contain some vittle information he needs.
To reactivate House's robot army is my guess.

In the end credits of episode 5 there's a library card in Shady Sands elementary with the last entry in November 2276. Kind of a strong indication that the town was nuked shorty after. It's unlikely "the fall" was so sudden that for at least 4 years the school was completely abandoned, yet there was no indication of any serious problems in the capital from NCR in New Vegas (in fact Shady Sands is referenced several times as business as usual pretty much). Most likely it's just oversight. Or maybe it's not the original Shady Sands, because the original was almost directly east of San Francisco, not in LA. May be they resettled for some reason (in New Vegas there were indications of agriculture problems and desertification "in the west").
Also, remember that scene where Norm asks Betty what happened to his mother's pip-boy, and she says "I buried her myself, me and your father"? That woman is scary af on a rewatch.
Oh yeah, and the idea of vaults as social experiments for future use in post-apocalyptic world is from Fallout 2. It's not described in as much detail and straightforward as in the show, after all the character divulging this information does it in passing while rambling about how great it would be to kill everyone again and repopulate America (common theme in Fallout :) ). I would strongly suggest playing 1 and 2 at some point, focusing as much as possible on written lore and dialogue, both games are really good even with outdated interface and mechanics.
There were supposed to be several "Control" Vaults which didn't have any sort of experiments planned for them. Vaults 76 & 101 where 2 such vaults but it also seems that several vaults went totally out of control and didn't do what they were supposed to. I've always wondered what the purpose of the experiments where because there was no indication in the games how the results where being collected and managed, I even tried to make my own Fallout 3 mod with an Executive vault to answer that quest but in my mod the Vault Tech Execs never got into it so there was no control over the experiments.
Its been a while since I seen it but I thought in Fallout 4, at the start when you're in the vault just after you find a gun and have to look through the terminal to open the door, you can read a text on the terminal that says that experiment data would be sent to vault tec to be logged, but did not expand on it at all. (maybe there is another vault for these vault tec scientists to log experiment data exclusively?)
@@Cawmeravn Basically the Vaults have two experiences by two groups. Vault Tech was trying find the best way to survive while the Enclave was using them to test life in space for their planned spaceship to leave the planet.
101 wasnt a control vault. The 101 experiment was that it was never supposed to open. Perpetual living in the Vault forever.
The OG concept (old school Fallout player here) was originally about learning how society could survive living long-term in an enclosed society. The purpose of the data was to help prepare for a generation ship that could colonize another planet. That's murky enough in any official "canon" content, that it wasn't 100% sure (IIRC), so Bethesda can take it wherever they want.
There was a "Vault 0" in the game Fallout Tactics that was the central hub of the whole vault network. It would be the "special vault for management" that Barb referred to. Tactics isn't generally considered a fully canon game, so they might use the general concept in the current canon, but give it a new spin.
31 was for Bud's Buds who were junior level executives and assistants in the executive training program and part of Bud's specific 3 vault experiment. Barb would have been in a different vault if she was in the vault that would oversee all of the other vaults (Vault 0 if they keep that concept).
Yes, it's still an open question on how Muldaver survived. Given her access to technology, she could have had her own cryo chamber/facility.
Some of the vaults were "control vaults" designed to work exactly as advertised - keep some humans alive and safe, then open up a few decades later to rebuild.

Considering Moldaver created Cold Fusion it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume she made her own Cryo Pod

4/18/24 Great episode. Pretty much tied up all the loose ends with good explanations about things. I like that because now when you go back and rewatch the season you'll pick up on all the clues and many things will have more significance now that they didn't have before. This show started off being really good and ended up being absolutely great. The last 3 episodes were all super strong. Very strong ending to the season. This episode is my second favorite and another 10/10. Looking forward to season 2. Hopefully they do a week to week release instead.
Kind of poetic Lucy was thinking of blowing up the observatory, much like Hank blew up Shady Sands. But that she wasn't raised that way. If only she knew, she probably would have blew the whole place up.

Here is what I assume happened.
The water was being siphoned off causing a famine.
We know one happened in 33 as well as 32.
31 people decided to sacrifice 32, by using them as food to keep 33 alive till they could get things going again.
So 33 did eat 32?
the problem with that is the year is 2296 and the famine was in 2277. Vault 32 died 2 years ago (2294). 2277 was the same year Rose (lucy's mom) escaped and took Lucy and her brother and then Hank nuked Shady Sands and got his kids back.
I was thinking the famine was a lie/cover up. but you are right on the water being syphoned, so there might have been a famine. would explain how some of the older dwellers who aren't 31 plants wouldn't question it. They may have faked a famine by withholding rations or whatever.. in order to cover up Rose's death.
I think the dwellers in 32 actually attacked and killed each other when their crops actually failed 2 years prior. maybe 33 began to syphon from 32 which overtaxed their water chip... not sure.

@@TheEpicSpire Pretty sure 32s experiment was/is overpopulation. The video Norm and Chet finds mentions it about the rats (which House calls the vault-dwellers at the meeting), then at the meeting he also talks about a vault experimenting with overpopulation.
Vault Tec had a backup plan about dropping the bomb, but the Chinese beat them to the punch. Vault 0 is the main administrative Vault. We havent seen Vault 0 in the games yet. In game pretty much every faction wants to wipe out all the other factions leaving them in charge. I never thought of Vault Tec as a faction themselves until this show. Loved the show and loved your reactions
Amazing show. Amazing finale. Never played Fallout and was completely entranced by the story.
I get that people think Maximus might've injured Dane at the very start, but I don't get how you can keep thinking that up until Dane confesses that they did it themselves.
The first people Maximus meets after he gets the power armor he just intervenes between two people, and tells them to leave. He only ever starts shooting once he gets to Filly because he's trying to be a knight, and put a stop to Cooper's attack on the town. He's explicitly *not* like the knights, it doesn't make sense for him to injure Dane, and he said he didn't under threat of death by the brotherhood.
“You wouldn’t hurt a fly” Maximus got a bad rap because people assumed he was tainted from being from the surface, in many respects he is a reflection of Lucy. His conduct as a “Knight” should have clues people in that he had his own ideals.
@@greywarden5513 I mean, it's not subtle throughout the show that maximus is decent, but not perfect. Dane admitting in the final episode that they hurt themselves shouldn't be some revelation, they're just confessing to the brotherhood, not the audience.

I cannot wait for New Vegas in Season 2! I just hope they somewhat respect Obsidians Work and not totally ignore it. Seeing the City and Pre-War Robert House in the final episode made me go crazy with excitement.
Tod just did an interview saying new vegas is entirely Canon to the show. And the NCR is not done yet.
It looks like new vegas is gonna be fucked up and maybe the characters bring the power back with the cold fusion tech or something. It was established In the game that Nevada and California can trade power

@lykan2 So far the show runners were told Not to officially cannonize any specific endings In the games. So this will either have to change for season 2. Or, they will just Hint at which ending It was and not show you explicitly. My guess is The house allways wins.
I think Hank is going to see Mr House. House wanted to use a starship to colonize other planets, he may have been using the data from the vaults to help with that goal.
I have a feeling Hank is gonna be VERY disappointed if that's the case.

The vaults experiments for the enclave has been a thing in the lore for a long time
You know what's funny? Shady Sands was founded by the dwellers of Vault 15 lol. Their lore is that they were mostly peaceful until a gang forced the main door off its hinges during a riot that left the Overseer dead. Since nobody else knew about the Vault's secret mission, and there was no way to close the door, the remaining Vault Dwellers left 15 and eventually founded Shady Sands. The rioters regrouped and formed the gang known as the Great Khans, who would continue to harass Shady Sands and the larger NCR as they grew and expanded, ultimately forcing them to continuously move east.
26:05 and with Maximus getting the title, he might have officially have some sway in the brotherhood. Infiltrate from within to try to influence it to become somehow better. And ESPECIALLY when they have infinite energy at their hands, Max will have to reign in the Brotherhood’s drunkenness in power as best as he could 🙁
Even by Brotherhood standards, this Elder Cleric has ideas WAY above his station and outside of the bounds the Brotherhood is supposed to stand for. I wonder if we might see a Brotherhood civil war at some point.

Despite essentially defecting, he has as much reason to want to bring it down cuz some day a knight will gun him down for simply being a ghoul.
Plus Thaddeus knows his way with radio, so he just might communicate with Max to plan things out in secret 🤫
I wonder if Maximus gaining SOME power within the BoS will negatively influence him. He’s shown to be opportunistic and having a dark side of his own. It’d be interesting to see him become Lucy’s foil
True talk. The BOS will be his chains to keep him in the back of the story at least for season 2, next time we see him, I could see the BOS being steered by creepy grandpa in not the best direction, BUT the Knights themselves adopting Maximus’ ideology.
the city the NCR was in was ARROYO, if you pay attention to the buildings it matches the same one in the fallout 2 ending slides, and if you and further proof, the cold fusion generators is a devices that can only be found inside the The Garden of Eden creation kit and only place has one besides vault city that has a functioning G.E.C.K is ARROYO.
The fact that back in the day Cooper didn’t want to shoot the “bad guy”.. but they made him do it.
The Ghoul could easily kill Henry... we WANT him to kill Henry.. but Cooper just grazes him purposely so we can get a vengeance quest in Season 2 with Cooper, Lucy and Dogmeat!

I always assumed that Dane did it to themselves, but it was neat to get that confirmed at last. But what I find more interesting, which I had a conversation o Facebook about after I had watched episode 4, was that I compared this show to Westworld. And that Lucy reminds me of Dolores there, and I even speculated about Lucy might end up killing father figures, since that is what Dolores did, and even Ella Purnell as Jinx did that basically in Arcane too.
Fallout 1 and 2 are so hard to play without going through 100 pages of a PDF that originally was given in printed form when the games 1st released in the 90s. If they were to ever do a remake, Fallout 1 and 2 should take priority so it's playable in today's world. The learning curve is insane but the story of Shady Sands is in the beginning of the series. I didn't get as far in Fallout 3 before I stopped to play New Vegas and Fallout 4, but I feel like I'm going to put more time in Fallout 4 as I'm really digging it. Then I'll get into New Vegas for sure before season 2, and try to finish out Fallout 3 eventually. I'm jumping around with these on Steam, as it's my only gaming platform.

I doubt Shady Sands was "bombed". It is built on top of a vault that had a Nuclear Reactor, and in Fallout 2 you have the option of blowing up the reactor and destroying Shady Sands, so I think Hank took that approach.
Loved the cliff hanger ending… at least that is assuming we get a season 2, if we don’t I’m going to hate it.
It’s already been renewed for season 2. Although Amazon has gone back on renewals before. But this show has so much buzz that I can’t see them doing that here.

Shady Sands was the first town you visit in the firt Fallout.
Each Vault has it's own programmer and therefore, it's own reclamation date. So the team for 76 had it pretty soon after the bombs dropped, and we don't know when people were supposed to be unfrozen in Fallout 4 because they were all killed before the reclamation date. Some vaults were never meant to open because the experiment was never to really reintroduce those inside to the world again. It really was a lottery unless you were actually Vault Tec, and even then.... not guaranteed.
I don't think Coop's familiy is in 31. Look what Vaultec did to Bud. Coop's wife is upper management, I think, above Bud. She will probably be where Hank is going.
I think my favourite Vault is Vault 43, the one with the Panther.

talk to people that played the original games by black isle, The Vaults were a Test for how humans would act in isolation, the purpose was for Long range space travel until they could colonize a habitable planet.

Lucy mentioned reclamation day having already happened without them because of society "coming back" with things like the NCR. Not because they'd missed some arbitrary day they were supposed to start restoring society. It's clear that at least these 3 vaults were not planning to open up for a while, as the surface was not in the desired state.
Reclamation Day is a thing in the lore though there is even a date for the control vaults. It's the day the Vault dwellers reenter the surface and kickstart society which did already happen in the games. Lucy's vault was lied to and purposefully kept out of that as this vault had it's own directive. Most of the vaults that were meant to open have long since opened.
They basically told us the vault reveal. “Everyone wants to save the world. They disagree on how”. Each vault was an idea, an experiment to see if it was the RIGHT idea. To “save” the world. But because of who’s ideas they were, none really worked.
I don’t game and I had no preconceived ideas. But I think this was pretty brilliant.
The dinky little car is a real thing, a Messerschmitt (yes, same company that made planes) KR201 - a class of car referred to in the UK as bubble cars (Heinkel and BMW did their own different designs too). In the UK and Europe they typically had 3 wheels but I think they might have had to have 4 in North America… Cooper is driving a US Kaiser Darrin.
I think Lee was from vault 4 they knew her and they had cryo chambers in their vault
32:46 yep he’s going to Robert House’s domain, the founder of Rob-co. Robert preserved himself through technology like Vault-Tec and he’s ESPECIALLY dangerous. He utilized his own platform of missile launchers to fend off as many bombs when they first dropped and his securitron robot army also have their own personal rocket launchers built into them. 😅
House is a big bad in Fallout New Vegas, supposedly a couple years before the events of the show. So it might depend on the show in season 2 if House was defeated or not, whoever is the one to take after House (the courier the protagonist from FNV or a faction), or if it’s been left abandoned as it kinda looks like in this teaser.
Answering what happened in FNV will be tricky.
My thoughts:
House probably got his mail delivered and kept NV as its own thing protected by his Robos.
The Second Battle of Hoover Dam is another matter. Given that shady sands seems to have been destroyed in around the timeframe of fallout 3, I don’t want to see the NCR take 2 large L’s in quick succession.
HOWEVER, Caesars Legion would make FANTASTIC cannon fodder bad guys for cooper and Lucy.
That aside, I want them to run into the other factions as well (my secret hope is Joshua Graham cameo for Lucy to hear some uplifting words).
@@TimeCircleBlue I have 3 ideas for how they dealt with New Vegas.
At the end of Ep 8 you can see that New Vegas appears to abandoned and desolate and the wall is broken down. So I am assuming Mr. House will be dead and Caesar too since I doubt he lived 15 more years with brain cancer.
Case A: Caesars Legion took over the Mohave and New Vegas, but I doubt that Caesar would still be alive in 2296. This would go along with the NCRs downfall. They were already thin after the first Hoover Dam war, and loosing a 2nd war would be disastrous for them.
Case B: Mr. House or the Courier took over the Mohave, but between then and now either the Enclave or BoS wiped them out.
Case C: The Courier destroys Hoover Dam, and New Vegas is abandoned shortly thereafter. This would also make the matter of cold fusion power more important.

And if it hadn't been mentioned this show takes place in 2296 which is almost 20yrs after fallout 4

Bud's car is called Flea a Corvega model. The guy representing Robco is Robert House New Vegas. And the brain on a roomba is Bud. Well in Fallout 1 Aradesh was the leader of Shady Sands. His daughter Tandy became a the self proclaimed benefactor of Shady Sands and would go on create the New California Republic through what the vault dweller from vault 13 in game 1 and the successor in Fallout 2. It would have been nice to see a live deathclaw in season 1 but I'm sure they didn't want to overload people new to the world for the same reason the Enclave wasn't mentioned much.

Possible explanation for Moldaver. She was frozen as an experiment in Vault 4, but got out somehow. Makes sense with its proximity to Shady Sands.
I’m pretty sure Hank joined the Brotherhood to nuke Shady Sands since they’re at war and it makes sense that’s why the Brotherhood have a base here and not the NCR military which is incidentally not around
So this takes places 15 years after new vegas. I cant wait to see what ending of NV they decided to go with as "canon". Considering the NCR is toast. Ceasar's Legend? I feel like the Mr House cameo implies he will come back as in charge. Its also nice to know 111's sole survivor is still kicking it in the common wealth (supposing they didn't die in the last 10ish years). Will we get a Minutemen General? Will the Institute show up to check out this power source? Synths? Freaking hype.
My money is on either the destruction of Hoover Dam and the abandonment of NV, or it was taken over by House/Courier, but destroyed by the Enclave or BoS sometime between then and 2296.
I doubt the Institute is still around since the Prydwen is in the show, and it gets destroyed if you help the institute, but survives if you side with the BoS or the Minutemen.
I would be glad to watch you play Fallout 3, New Vegas, or Fallout 4. I believe 3 is my favorite because it has the most quests with moral dilemmas and the various outcomes. It also has random encounters in the world whereas in 4 most of the enemies are staged so you always know whatever will be there. I think it is more fun when it's random
Theory: Howard refused the 'thumbs up' in the photo because that happened AFTER he fou d out his wife suggested that vault tech drop the bomb themselves so it became more personal.
I mean, he says "considering the circumstances i'd rather not" because america's literally on the precipice of war at that point, and he's the face of vault-tec and doesn't particularly feel like giving a happy mascot photo when the end of the world is on everybody's mind.

I really like the story, I never knew anything about this game. When it came out I was into Resident Evil, Parasite Eve, Abe's Odyssey, and Mortal Kombat. I also had just had my second child so I guess you might say I was a tad busy, but I kinda always prided myself on knowing the new hottest games🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️

I personally think Hank McLean is going after Mr. House, the Rob Co CEO who was in that scene with Cooper's wife.
House was a major part of Fallout New Vegas and I'd highly recommend playing it because a lot of the info in Fallout New Vegas is definitely gonna come up in S2 of the show
I think they mentioned life extension earlier in the show. They might have meant the cryochambers, but I think that there is more going on with that. I think Muldavia is a clue to that so that the ghouls family can still be alive and not asleep.
I also think you hit on the main value(to the show) of having different companies controlling different vaults. You can explain away almost any inconsistencies between vaults by simply saying different companies ran them. Especially since you won't know which ones were run by which company.
Theory: The guy who was putting sand in the water purifier.... was he close enough that he could of been the cause of the water leak of the vault? He didnt know how it worked so maybe he figured sand = water?
