I wrote the code for a plugin to dequeue/deregister certain script and CSS resources until a consent cookie is present. Then I went ahead and created a button that could set the cookie. Done… and I had a Homebrew consent solution that blocks third-party resources. Just amazing technology …
This is great and I applaud your enthusiasm for this but a word of caution. Poorly coded plugins can be a vector for hackers. There is also the potential for JS conflicts that can bring a site down. It's a good idea to have a developer review the code before adding it to a site.
@@jamiewp Malicious code can still be of high quality, it is the intent that matters. Coping data to an external website could be a legitimate backup or a data theft. I wonder what happens if you ask ChatGPT to write a Trojan horse plugin?
I'm excited. After watching your video, I wanted to make a simple plugin to test it before I get deeper into coding it. I created a WordPress plugin with blinking stars on the home page of one of my sites, and it worked with Dan the programmer, prompt! This is great. I also wanted to try the plug you recommended in another video AI Engine. When typed in AI, a whole slew of AI plugins popped up, some only 5 hours old. I uploaded this one and did a quick review, seems fairly extensive. ChatGPT AI Power: Complete AI Pack --- "ChatGPT, Content Writer, Auto Content Writer, ChatBot, Image Generator, Audio Converter, WooCommerce Product Writer, SEO optimizer, AI Training, Embeddings, Title Suggestions and hundreds of ready-to-use prompts and forms."
You'll love this one, Jamie. Why would this happen? I instructed ChatGPT to create a WordPress with a few features, and this is the response I received from ChatGPT. "As an AI language model, I am not capable of developing and writing code for a WordPress plugin. However, I can provide some guidance on what you should consider when developing your plugin."
I've gotten this sometimes. I think it's because of the input we provide. When I reword the prompt I get the actual code as a response. Sometimes you have to write prompts in the format of "create the code for ..." or "write a plugin using PHP that does..."
Please do more videos on how to use this AI tech to construct plug-in's; including how to create a plug-in that can be downloaded from WP's plug in directly so that it can be shared. This amazing! Thank you for the video and have a super weekend- the future is getting closer to reality everyday.
Create a folder example: My plugin folder. Then chatgpt will provide you codes with filenames example: snow.php also styles.css javascript.js. Open notepad place the snow.php code and save it as snow.php.. same thing for esch file. All in the same folder. Archive the folder to .zip and add new plugin on wordpress, add new plugin / upload plugin and thats it.
Sir thanks a lot for sharing this, I want to ask after I take the codes from chatgbt where I save if file word or notebook or what to finally make the file zip please I have problem, I want the help to solve it , thanks a lot for everything
Thanks - I don't have a complete course on youtube, but i run wordpress courses here www.pootlepress.com/our-wordpress-training-courses/ and full recordings are available (not free) here clubpootle.com/
Thanks for this video, I might give ChatGPT and plugin development a go. Side note: As much as I love music, it's somewhat distracting and stressful when trying to watch/listen to your tutorials. So I seldom watch them, and if I do, I generally don't finish. Not hating, just giving you some feedback.
Ohhh! It just hit me, ChatGPT created the flippin' spy balloons! Otherwise, thanks Jamie, Your continuing coverage of AI to build sites is gonna be, no doubt, the best.
i created an entire plugin for migrating blog posts from HubSpot to Wordpress.... in couple hours (some troubleshooting and getting over the oauth2 crap.
Another fantastic video! Thank you! Regarding themes-for several years I was building custom themes for clients (not to sell) using the _underscores theme. I would love to have a theme that I can use as a starting point for all my future products, but find myself bouncing around a lot. You mention a lot of good themes. Is there a block-based starter theme that you recommend? Or does it even matter that much? Thanks again for the great videos. You've made the transition from classic to blocks much less painful.
Maybe they just changed it? What I received... "As an AI language model, I'm not able to code plugins or software. However, I can suggest a few resources and options for finding a developer who could help you create a custom WordPress plugin:"

I keep getting the same message from ChatGPT as an AI language model, I cannot create WordPress plugins directly. However, I can provide you with some guidance on how to create a WordPress plugin that adds stars to every page of your site.
Awesome video as usual Jamie! Could you provide a prompt that creates a block to showcase an affiliate product with a description and text would chat GPT be able to do that?
I’ve seen these on different channels where it’s an affiliate picture of the product, and then a text description to the right of it and then a button with a link to go to the affiliate landing page. I just have a hard time creating it in a block.
@@Kile-TV There's a few ways to do this (i think) 1) Grab the embed code from amazon (although this doesn't look so nice) 2) Hand build it using the columns block , and buttons block - just link the buttons block using your affliate link, 3) Use my woobuilder blocks plugin (this lets you embed products on any page (including afflliate products) www.pootlepress.com/woobuilder-blocks/ Hope that helps :)
Hmm I tried, code looked good, never worked, asked it loads of questions, and it told me to change the block category to three diffferent types! All were correct til I queried them...hmm. A friend said 'it tells you what you want to hear' - I think that's true,. Great for SEO copy, marketese, stuff where lies and flattery are wanted. Not so great with code. Beware.
On the flip side, been trying Jordy's AI plugin and that Block Diffusion one, I thought Jordy's plugin's image creation was better (DALL-E2?) - Stable/DIsco Diffiusion which I've been using for years is better than most,. even DALL-E2 sometimes, maybe Midjourney is better....but you really need to mess with the prompts to get it great. I use Nightcafe cos of the free credits, it's pretty good. Which is a long way of saying thanks for the recommendations for those. I do think good reliable Featured Image generation off your blog text is pretty close.
While the content is great, the mumbling is terrible. I couldn't understand half of what you were saying. It's a pity, as the visual part helped me a lot!!!
