so i watched this video one morning and had a class with pre teens the same afternoon , the technology unexpectedly failed me , so basically i did a review using this game , everyone was so invested , and it was so close !! easy time filler and great for speaking practice too! this is amazing.
This is interesting. I have been playing the same game but with more rules. For little kids this is fast and streamlined. I like it. For older kids - I draw 12 balloons and number them 1-6. I make one rule for each side of the dice. For example: 1 =erase one balloon, 2 =erase two balloons 3 = Paper Scissor Stone and loser erases one balloon (or they can choose the number they want to play for), 4 steal a balloon from the other team, 5 - roll the dice and erase the number you see (roll a 3 and erase all the number 3 balloons), 6 draw a new balloon. You can swap out rules - add an erase 3 to speed things up, or a draw 2 to slow things down, steal 2 balloons, or even have the 6 be a choose any other rule. This works well for the class vs the teacher also. I have played this game without balloons - using kids names in a raft/boat and they decide who is going overboard, who they want to save, who they want to steal from the other team. However, this could be problematic if everyone has someone they want to pick on.
hey one more ballon game, but it includes an actual one. you have a balloon with helium in your hand. hold onto the string close to the balloon. give a flashcard with a pic/word to your student, their hands are now glued to the flashcard until they say/read it. start releasing the ballon, but not too fast. once they get the task right they drop the card on the floor and catch the balloon. if they fail, they watch the balloon fly away
Nah? I let them both go. The winner goes first, so theoretically has a better chance to win. The winner/loser but is really just to determine which of the two students has to perform the English task
Apologies. I made a personal, one-time challenge for myself to speed through an explanation. I was feeling burnt out and decided to try something fun. Our other videos are delivered at a much more normal, human pace.
I’ll make sure to emphasize this on a lesson about irregular plurals. For now though, I think the use of the singular dice in casual conversation is fine.
This game was a hit in my intermediate level class of adults. They behaved like kids, it was a riot.

Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to explain the rules you use. I’m sure it will help many teachers.
@@GuysWithGamesESLThanks for posting so many games! My level one kids are going to love this.
Can I relate it to the lesson if it's a science one
I will only watch these speedrunned explanations from now on
Ha! I doubt I’ll do it again. It was a fun challenge, and something I do in class with my kids once in a while, just to see how much they catch.

AWESOME IDEA!!!
Hey!! What did you mean the red player still has a chance ? Surely only the winner should erase the balloons? Thanks !

Great game🤩 thanks!
I’m looking forward to trying it !
Nice and easy game for kids, I will try it next time. Thank you 💙🦋🙏
What if they get the task wrong? If they don’t answer correctly? For example if they spell the word wrong?
Fantastic!!!
Nice one ❤
so for the one that loses, the teacher has to give them the commands in English? its not the winning team?
That’s great very fun
Paper scissors stone? 😭 What happened to rock paper scissors?
Haha! Were you in a hurry to leave XDD
Sometimes we just need something to keep ourselves entertained. Haha
Good job
Perfect 👍🏻
great !
Say that twenty times fast 💨
Haha. I probably did… with a mistake in the first 19 times.
Chief ! what happened ? before your speaking speed was not so quick
Just a one-time challenge to myself. Sometimes we need to entertain ourselves too, no?
@@GuysWithGamesESL I thought you were trying to be like those youtubers who are super active and say something non-stop!))))
Can you explain the game in writing? I also got a bit lost.
I can catch up what you mean. You are being so fast though

@@GuysWithGamesESL tbh all your videos are great and useful for my class and I CANNOT thank you enough.
One die, two or more dice. 🙄
