Good day Mr Mancoba. I am writing to you in regards to the NSFAS n+ rule that has affected me in the most cruesome way. I would like to have some clarity on the option that I have to choose for the NSFAS appeal. I studied at UFS from 2015 - 2018 due to being academically excluded by the institution then I studied at CUT last year in 2021 and it was the first time being funded by NSFAS last year at CUT. Now it shows the n+ rule on my NSFAS status. What do I have to do now my brother? It's really painful to be rejected and having no hope of ever turning your life around. 💔💔💔 I am currently an indigent and I have no financial support and no means of income. I did really well on my academic results the previous year and even obtained distinctions on almost all of my modules, in essence I passed them all. I feel really hopeless and frustrated at the thought of this encounter because I had aspirations and hopes that I would eventually turn my life around and change the situation at home. It is really devastating and depressing. I am slowly turning back in the dark hole I was in before I was granted the second opportunity to pursue my dreams and make my livelihood worthwhile.💔💔😢😭🙏🏿
Good morning I am sorry to hear this but I have explained in the video that NSFAS start counting from the years you studied whether you were funded or not by NSFAS. Do not put your hopes on NSFAS, apply for bursaries. You can visit this website for bursaries www.studentroom.co.za and choose the relevant bursary. Also visit the CUT website to see the available bursaries or funding that you can use www.cut.ac.za/fees-bursaries-and-loans

When I tap the appeal option it says that I need proof that it will take me a year to complete my academic qualifications but sadly I cannot acquire that proof because it's going to take me longer than that. What can I do?
The letters that are needed from the institution to appeal, are they a form of academic record? Or it’s a formal letter with proof that it’s your final academic year to complete your qualification?

I'm finding it difficult to upload my supporting appeal document that is needed it keeps saying " please re-upload missing document" what seems to be the problem? Is it because I need to also submit an appeal letter with the supporting document maybe? Please assist me on this. Thank you
Good day all, I am not sure about the true story below. But remember that NSFAS fund students for max of 5 year ( 4 + 1 rule) and that was before. I heard that it has been reduced to max of 4 years now (3 + 1 rule) but you can confirm that with your institution or the nearest application centres. www.nsfas.org.za/content/appcentres.html
I have a problem, the reason I have on the appeal tab reason is not listed. Again I once appealed last year, and I would like to use those reasons again, a parent lost his job. Would that be reason enough again this time. Or a new reason is needed?
