The stakkato at 1:18 or the flames at 1:45 - PERFECTION! As owner of a Gen. 4 I can tell that the sidepipes, the sound and the VVT kicking in at 5000 RPM are never getting old or boring ;-)
@@devandrasimanjuntak1646 Yeah, Mahle CamInCam. It was the first OHV engine with VVT. But be assured: it only has two modes: small valve overlap for 'low' emissions and good performance in lower RPMs and flat-out mode for over 5000 RPM with bigger valve overlap and the advantages of so called 'scavenging'. Exhaust valve timing is adjusted by 30° when VVT kicks in - sound and adrenaline pure :-) You can find some tuners who deactivate VVT so that the engine timing always is in beast mode ... the 9L Prefix engines for example: Idling with this 'bad' enginge timing results in the most oldschool muscle car rumbling (they had the same 'problem' with fixed timing for performance). Rumor has it that Dick Winkles and his folks at SRT tried many different VVT-strategies (adjusting inlet and not exhaust timing), but they were quite surprised when they found out that variable inlet doesn't have many pros ... exhaust timing on the other hand allowed them to keep the emissions in check AND two burst open the gates to hell :-D
@@untitled4841 Kind of but not quite ... VTEC was a system that aggressively changed the lift of the intake valves whereas VVT means 'only' other timing - both can be described as change in the 'inlet event'. You can imagine VTEC as a system that 'adds' an even larger throttle body at WOT than the normal one you already have (a really nice kick) and VVT as sudden change in character, feel and sound (attitude of race cars like back in the old days or NASCAR). You can find clips of Vipers (Prefix and other 9l builds) where the aggressive timing is always activated (hence the oldschool rumbling at idle). At the end of the day VTEC and VVT are good systems to get a decent performance and to pass emission tests ;-)
