Beautiful! I routinely listen to a playlist I've made of every youtube vid of Fr. Hugh that I've found. I would love to have regular access to his homilies and talks! He provides the best content I've found on the internet. Thank you for sharing!
Cursed is anyone who opens their mouth and says they’re a believer of God, yet still live in sin: Representing God in darkness is far worse than being a sinner, for it is written that God shall “cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 24:51). Most people take advantage of God's mercy and goodness, mistaking it for weakness because of the hardness of their own hearts. God so loved the world that He sent Jesus to us so that we might be saved; instead, people trample underfoot the Son of God (Hebrews 10:29). For it is written that it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them” (2 Peter 2:21).
Heaven was closed until Christ ascended. So, yes. We do not know with certainty if Elijah was assumed into heaven. We know only that God carried him into the heavens. But, today? Different story!
@@Bless7789 Note that they were revealed alive, awake and conversing with Christ. They were speaking of Christ's Sacrifice on the Cross for all holy souls both living and who had died and were in the spirit prison (1 Peter 3:18-20, 4:6). Peter, James and John certainly benefited from this appearance, as Moses and Elijah bore testimony that Christ was the Savior of the world. Remember that the testimony of 2 or 3 witnesses proved the truth of a matter. Also it is good to recall that the Apostles doubted, even after Jesus appeared after the Resurrection. Yet, Moses and Elijah (representing the Law and the Prophets) also departed. To where? Heaven was not open. They could only have returned to Sheol. "I" think that they acted as did John the Baptist in proclaiming Jesus of Nazareth as the long awaited Savior to those souls waiting in Sheol. God sends messengers - often angels but as we see, also prophets. As the world of the living saw the revelation of Christ as Savior, how could God deny that same good news (Gospel = good news) to those spirits who had waited so patiently? I could certainly be wrong, but I believe that the Transfiguration was intended for all souls, both those living on earth and those alive only in spirit.

Did Moses go to limbo? What about Abraham, Daniel, Elijah and others?
