- There are so many video game series and franchises that have gone dormant. Here are some of my favorites that I'd love to see return.

Another Saw game!! They never quite made it to the point where it felt like you were narrowly avoiding traps or figuring out crazy puzzles. Put it in first person and set it outside the movie plot line. That’s my dream franchise return.
Mark of Kri - they never made the 3rd game of thr trilogy.

But damn if Iron Mike wasn't invincible and yes, those old EA boxing games were awesome.
Yeah definitely just swap out return with the different list title games that need to be fixed, Remastered, remade etc definitely a great video idea keep up the awesome work
There's so many franchises I wish would make a come back, for instance I'd love to see Duke Nukem, Time Splitters, Conker's Bad Fur Day (franchise not remake), Tenchu, Ninja Gaiden, Diddy Kong Racing, Dead Space, Silent Hill, James Bond, Berserk, The Matrix, Quake (more like the original or second game not the arena multiplayer stuff), Turok, Vigilante 8, Body Harvest, Star Fox, Dino Crisis, Darkwatch, Hunter: The Reckoning, Fighting Force, Road Rash, Space Station Silicon Valley, The Bouncer, Crimson Skies, Gundam, Gex: enter the Gecko, and maybe Banjo Kazooie return. I'm not holding my breath for most of these but I'd be ecstatic to see them remade or continued in some way.
Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper were my happy place in elementary school.

Metal Gear and Splinter Cell were the only stealth immersive franchises, they definitely need to come back! After MGS V I saw huge potential on stealth gameplay and it’s sad to see no one is trying to chase that.

i know it's not a popular opinion but i would like to see a remake or reboot of Kane and Lynch, as far as the mechanics and gameplay it's not something revolutionary but that story is pure grit and the whole dynamic of the characters works pretty well, also yeah SPLINTER CELL totally agree... i just keep going back to the streets of jerusalem in pandora tomorrow or hanging outside of the hotel in double agent on chinese new year rainy night.

@@andrewmitsialis-souster3321 that game had no business being in the franchise. Fun as it was for a time, it wasn't the same as the other 6 games previous which all had a similar gameplay style to each other. That game is part of what helped kill the franchise.

I would be SO happy if they continued the Mirrors Edge franchise. I know people weren't huge on Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, but that game was everything to me.

I was going to comment the exact same thing. We NEED another Mirror's Edge. I still think the level of detail in Catalyst was amazing, so just imagine what a new one could look like with ray tracing and the technology of today
I played it because of gamepass and I was hooked. Once you get the flow of the parkour it's such an underrated game.
In Catalyst, they improved on everything from the 1st game.
You mentioned Dark Cloud and I immediately remembered to hit "like".

I have been asking for sly cooper to come back the entire previous generations. I thought thieves in time was good but not as good as the games sucker punch games. I am still waiting for the movie but got canceled after rachet and clank failed and they announced it back in 2017 and haven’t heard about it since than

I loved all the games listed pretty much especially the true crimes streets of LA. I loved the gun play, the fighting and the story line. I am sure since time has advanced that they could make it even more entertaining.

War of the monsters is so underrated, and had so much sequel potential. It was such a genius idea and very well executed for the time. Probably one of the most underrated PS2 games ever.

Timesplitters, kotor, viewtiful joe, splinter cell, prince of persia, suffering and last but not least I want another armored core. I love robots and would die for a dope robot fighting game

Sly Cooper would actually be rad to have a comeback. I feel like a lot of modern stealth games all go the way of the immersive sim (Dishonored, Deus Ex, MGS5), but a modern take on the cartoony-gamey stealth style of Sly Cooper would be phenomenal to see again (I also wouldn't complain if they turned it into an immersive sim too.)

Totally agree. Sekiro was kiiiiinda sorta a Tenchu game, but no - a real sequel/reboot would be awesome.
dawn of mana, i know many don't like it but the reason i enjoyed it so much was the fighting mechanics, you hit an enemy and he bounces making objects around bounce that make other enemies bounce and hittin each other, was like a 3D pinball so i used to spend a lot of time moving things around so they could bounce the most causing the highest damage possible
Banjo and Kazooie AND Conker..... I would die happy.
I definitely would like to see bully, twisted metal and syphon filter come back before I die.

I am a huge James Bond fan and I loved all of the gadgets, humor and action in those games. Bring back Cate Archer!
Midnight. Club. I practically burned my Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition Remix disc from playing it so much back on the PS2. So I’d love to see Rockstar throw a curveball and make a new Midnight Club game.

BREATH OF FIRE! --- the 4th game (unrelated to others) DID have a town that was affected by your in-game collecting/choices BEFORE Dark Cloud did it. was a mini-game involving fairies to raise

My number 1 is Custom Robo, this is probably the most niche Nintendo IP the last game was released on the DS but there was nothing for years. I can only ask that some of you check out the gameplay as it is so much fun.

As a kid growing up with English as a second language, playing Legacy of Kain Defiance was sooo confusing. But that game slapped!

So glad you brought up Legacy of Kain. All my previous comments were before you even mentioned it. That series was by far my most favorite PS1/2 games ever. The story of betrayal and revenge and redemption. The voice acting was the best of it's time. If they remade the whole series HD with Souls-like mechanics, I'd buy them all.
I remember playing chaos theory with my brother so much. We used a cable splitter to put it on 2 TVs then covered the opposites split screen for increased immersion during co op

In past years I've received everything I wanted. For years I was talking about THPS2, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. Some of the remakes was so good that we want more of that nostalgia-hit-in-the-face. Splinter Cell, Syphon Fighter, NFSU2, Metal Gear Solid... Yes, please.

Hands down TENCHU needs to make a comeback! Especially if they can make the story as good as Birth of the Stealth Assassins, and gameplay as good as Fatal Shadows.

Had a blast with the Jak and Daxter trilogy during my teenage years. Still can't forget that difficult mission for Jak 2 wherein I'm always running out of time. Would love to see a remake or reboot of this franchise.
I would love to see a continuation of the Spyro series. I know the first three games had a remaster recently, but to me, they don't count. The PS2 (?) trilogy was interesting to play and I'd like to see a new story

Sly Cooper was my childhood, Its nostalgic, I remember going to block buster with my grandmother and renting out Sly Cooper on the PS2 when life was simpler and I didn't have to worry, all the free time I had.

I’ve thought about this a lot, and the fact that you have too just makes it that more exciting. Before last year, Crash Bandicoot’s original series was hands down one of my top five I wished to see come back, and when it did it was great! I loved what they did and never thought I’d see it happen. Which is why I would LOVE to see a new Sonic Adventure game!! I think the potential and the popularity around the film, the upcoming Netflix show & Sonic Mania is all the more reason to do a Sonic Adventure 3! There was so much to the Sonic Adventure games despite their flaws. Another series the Gameboy Advance Jrpg style Dragon Ball games! I know we got Kakarot, and it’s essentially a modern version of the original Legacy of Goku 1 &2, and Buu’s Fury.. but I think a classic retro feel on the switch with like the Super storyline would be something amazing. There’s certainly a fan base for those type of games, so I definitely think it’d be possible... if nothing else, remaster the original three and port them to Switch.
(Also yeah, Sly Cooper would be amazing.)

Speaking of game franchises that need to make a return, Id love to see some of the delisted games make a comeback..
The Activision Transformers games, Legend of Korra, Deadpool, X-Men Origins: Wolverine etc.
I will say, while Im sure there are used copies for sale (and other unsavory ways to acquire these games) these games both look and run beautifully on the Steam Deck (from the footage I’ve found so far as I do not own these games)
These games were lost to time due to licensing issues but by far great portable plays on the Steam Deck!

SSX! Easily the most fun racing series I’ve ever played. EA butchered the remake back in 2012 by not letting you play split screen and the online was only against ghosts- madness. Would be over the moon to see this franchise brought back and can you imagine how good it would look on today’s consoles? Dream comeback for me
Okay, Legacy of Kain is on the list. Given where Defiance left off, and the ideas for the cancelled Dark Prophecy, Nosgoth could actually fit the "modern Western AAA adventure game with RPG elements" template- you can alternate between Young and Old Kain, exploring Nosgoth modelled after Blood Omen 1, uncovering more secrets of the Ancients, while the Hylden are plotting in the background. There's so much potential with this series, it's criminal it's just been dropped. Only Darksiders is really carrying the torch for the 3D Gothic Action-Adventures these days.

This is a great list. I’d love to see Jet Set Radio Future, Nintendogs, and Pokémon Stadium 1&2 remade. Never played Jak and Daxter but I’d probably love it. I’m super grateful that nearly all of my favorite IPs have been picked up and/or remade - Spyro (!!!!), Ratchet & Clank, Crash, Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire, Spider-Man, Animal Crossing, and now even Pokémon Snap!! It’s unreal! Literally all my top favorites have come back. It’s crazy!
A proper Banjo Kazooie sequel! No Nuts and Bolts bullshit. Banjo Kazooie 3 with his original design, like in the last smash bros. Clearly still a loved character and platformers are back baby!

We've been in a gilded age for expensive AAA cash cows for the last little while, but it seems like AA games are becoming more popular again (especially strictly single player ones). There is a big difference in quality of things like Assassin's Creed in that series' trajectory to now and what players keep paying for with shallower experiences. It's strange seeing games pop out like THPS1+2 with super out of place monetization systems in them and how normalized we've become with that component making games into potential money makers rather than medium risk, medium return experiences that can carry themselves on sales alone instead of Games as a Service. Lots of interesting AA entries the last few years from Dontnod, THQ, and the indie scene is reaching that kind of AA ceiling sometimes which is kind of impressive.

Quarantine (the taxi driver game).. Haven't seen a follow up to Quarantine II since the 90s!
Just checked and they were bought out by Rockstar.. So they could actually do it some justice!!
The sequel was the better game in my opinion with the graphic novel art style game booklet / cutscenes, and a genuine story with progression and different areas.
Oh, and they should keep all the gore too!

I want a Jak 4 so bad! I want them to give it the God of War soft reboot treatment by continuing the story but redesigning and modernising the gameplay, upgrading the visuals to look like Kena: Bridge of Spirits (Without changing their appearance like that awful leaked reboot concept art) and giving us a deeper character story. Imagine a third person, over the shoulder combat/shooter like God of War but in an open world futuristic city with vehicles and guns. Using Daxter as an ally in combat, customising Jak's outfits/hair/guns/vehicles, exploring the dangerous lands outside of the city boarders... Basically I want them to give us Jak 2 but with todays tech! It would be SO badass!
You know, I think I agree with all the games you mention. There are some older games that I would love to see for selfish reasons. I had a demo disc for Playstation (the OG) and it had Brave Fencer Musashi and Wild 9 on there. Either would make me cry tears of joy. Both would allow me to die happy and feeling complete considering I've only ever owned the demo and maybe a rom.

I'd like to see Resistance make a comeback. I loved the idea of alternate history and just how humanity was brought to the brink. Like I get it, Insomniac is more focused on Spider-Man at this point, but still you can't tell me that you didn't enjoy that co-op experience or those huge 64 player battles on Resistance 2.

Starwars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Create a force user and travel the galaxy as you struggle between the light and darkside. Making choices that will affect a few or potentially the entire galaxy. Who knows how far your ripples in the force will travel and who they will affect.

Quake would be amazing. I used to play that with my dad as a kid. Would be great to face off against the old man like the old days.
I definitely feel your pain on games that need to come back like Jack and Dexter. Another game that I wish they would bring back is Mercenaries. The first one was awesome for the time it was made but I forgot what happened to the second Mercenaries game but I knew it didn't live to expectations sadly enough. I can imagine with the right team and vision that it could be a hit especially if they add in some type of multiplayer co-op where you and a friend could work on bringing in high value targets together in a open sand box game.
Oh man if they put out Dark Cloud 3 I would be so happy. I still play Dark Cloud 2 every few years the story was so good and the town building was amazing, I always try to do a different layout each playthrough. Level 5 please make Dark Cloud 3.
The Lunar Series needs to make a comeback or Shining Force.
Road Rash - We've had spiritual successors, but a follow-up to the 32 bit version would be incredible.
