This video helped me out so much. I've been wanting to become a PTA or a PT for a while, but I don't know where to start. I got a job as a medical supplier near my local hospital and have enough time to take education. There's this college that has a PT program. Tomorrow, they will contact me and get me rolling into it. I was also looking into online PT programs, but I haven't found one where it doesn't require a bachelor's degree. I'll keep you posted...

Yea 30, in Rochester NY, and after spending a lot of time lifting and working through certain pains especially in my lower back due to an injury and working around that to heal I've come to the realization that I do really want to help other people that have been in my shoes. Id love to hear how your journey is going!

I'm applying to PTA school and was going to do nursing but working in the medical field for 17yrs I realize that I don't want to do work in the ER anymore and definitely don't want to be a nurse. I thought about doing the nursing route to get to NP but I would have to work in the field in order to get into the NP program. I don't know if I'll be happy doing nursing so I know I loved personal training and wanted to take it to the next level but decided to keep going with my education and get my BS in biology to enter the PA program but it's very competitive and it's been 3yrs trying and I"m just wasting time.
So, I know that I want to be a PT and feel that I will do great. I was looking into the DPT but my GPA is bad and I won't get in. I"m hoping to do the PTA and then go to DPT.

      1. What you have is acceptable.
      2. No you don’t need an A.S to apply to PTA school. You get your A.S upon PTA school completion

CAPTE accredits PTA schools too. You must graduate from a CAPTE accredited PTA school to get a license. He is wrong on that issue.

I am very interested in being a PTA!!!! Can anyone tell me what they liked or disliked about it? Also, how long it took for you to get a job after you graduated the program? As well as how competitive it is to get into the PTA program? And what tips and advice to give to a new student as far as studying/taking notes/materials to have? Hope to hear from someone soon :)

No. You don’t need a certificate in anything to apply to PT school

  • @jerrelle1598

You need to a competitive GPA. Along with a competitive ACT score. Otherwise you won’t even get a foot in the door. You’ll just be applying for nothing. The school you apply at should have a print out of the way they score applicants. But I’m here to tell you. C’s may get degrees in some cases, but C’s won’t get you in the program.

      1. Very difficult 2. Most clinics will have evening hours where you can observe and hospitals are open on weekends so you probably can observe in hospitals on the weekends
