The height in baki is just inconsistient as some 6'5 footers are like 2x the size of the people around. Best to just shut your brain off and not sweat the little things. Though I will say the weights compared to their builds and height are actually kinda believeable which is uncommon in most anime

Rumina was only 12 years old when he met Baki. Now, let's all remember that Baki himself was only a year older than Rumina when he; took on 100 delinquents and brought down at least 45 of them including their strongest member, fought a world-class, undefeated boxer, a Japanese Yeti, a giant Yakuza boss, a squadron of elite guerilla soldiers, and survived a fight against the strongest creature on the planet.
So when he heard of a 12 year old, was looking to fight him, it probably reminded Baki of himself back in the day. Which is why he respected Rumina enough to treat it as a real fight. And like in all of his fights; Baki used just the right amount of strength to end it.
I didn't watch the OG sub, but in the Dub they said he KO'd 37, I believe. Either way, fucking impressive for a 13 yo. Even Dick Grayson would blush

The animation quality needs to be top notch for the upcoming Pickle arc.
I wholeheartedly agree, that arc has way too many good fights to be subpar.
Unfortunately they will probably keep the same animation for the pickle arc, I really hope I'm wrong but I believe they will keep it as it is, which is bad in my opinion, tho the aesthetic of the anime isn't bad at all. It actually suits Baki but they don't actually animate the fights, they copy paste the manga exactly as it is and add a few scenes in between panels to make it seem animated, that's all..I just hope they give some more effort.
