All of these $15-20 BiB bourbons are solid. They aren’t world beaters, but you can’t go wrong if you pick one up and better than many higher priced bottles.
JW Dant and Old Grand-Dad bottled in bond were basically what got me started into bonded whiskey many years ago. I still love them when I can get them.
Thanks for doing a great video on lower shelf products ... very well done. All of these bottles are rare at Virgina and North Carolina state run stores. I've had them all, and I agree with your comments.
This video is a perfect example as to why you are one of, if not the best whiskey tuber. You go the extra mile and give the history along with your insights and descriptions. Greatly appreciated. Cheers!
J.W. Dant and JTS Brown are available here in Iowa. Great cheap juice. I'm glad you take the time to review the bottom shelf. So many of these WhiskyTube channels focus their efforts on bottles I can't find or would never shell out the hundreds of dollars to get them. Love your channel, man.
Tried both the Dant and the Brown side by side as free samples at the Heaven Hill heritage center, which is 100% worth a visit if you’re passing thru Bardstown. I had trouble telling them both apart but I did think the Brown was slightly more peanuty, but not by much. Trying Dant and Yellowstone (invented by the Dant family) side by side, and Samuels and Makers Mark side by side would be fun. I can find all of these near me in Illinois, i might throw Samuels in a decanter but these are all great.
I just killed a bottle of JW Dant. Found liter bottles on sale for $9.99 at my local store and picked up a six pack. I alternate between it and JTS Brown for super affordable daily drinker.
I appreciate the history lessons that you give. I find this information quite interesting. Also, I would like to know how these compare to Evan Williams BIB. Could you do that blind some time?
I havemt had the Dant or the JTS but have had the TW Samuels. I was shocked by the TW Samuels being a Cinnamon bomb for me with light oak and little bits of brown sugar and bakers spice at the finish.
Jason hittin the right topics again. I have a bottle of jts brown and jw dant but have not opened them yet. Dant is sometimes found here in western ny. Jts brown is not at all. Maaaaybe at a bar but not ever at stores that ive seen.
We get JW Dant & JTS Brown in Chicago. Both are decent, but I wouldn't recommend them unless you are in really pinching pennies. If you are, it's fun to have a couple to reach for to mix things up. 🥃🥃
Great and entertaining review of 3 bourbons l'll never see or buy if l did. That along with the unicorns that you review that are about as different as can be but strangely the same as these 3...make your content top notch...thanks.
Binny's sells JTS Brown BIB in Illinois. It's at $18 a bottle now. In Kentucky I used to get this for $11-12. I really enjoy JTS Brown but if it gets up to or over $20 a bottle that's nuts.
I don't know how new it is to the bottom shelf bonded game, but I recently grabbed a handle of Tom Moore BiB and I think it can stand up to these 3. Haven't seen many reviews for it at all.
I have to drive out of town for JW and JTS. Have never seen the last one. JW is light but has a good taste and JTS is a lot like Early Times BiB but imo tastes a lot better.
Though these are not available in my area, of course; I do think this was a very interesting review and comparison. This is very helpful for my next trip to Kentucky.
We have a drink in my family that we call “recipe” and it’s essentially a bunch of different mogen David/manischewitz fruit wines mixed with JW Dant BiB. May sound gross but it’s damn good stuff
Just stumbled on a JW Gant today for $13 and because I could faintly recollect this video, I grabbed it. Bargain of the year so far. Certainly not going to blow your mind, but a decent bib for under $15 that you can actually enjoy neat.... Outstanding Thanks for the video - never would have even been aware of this without it. Awesome JC. BTW, this is NOT in Kentucky, so apparently it has gone into a wider distribution network. Good for us!
Big fan of Evan Williams BiB, I can buy it anywhere for $15, handles are even better value. Great mixer but no problem sipping it either. Currently sipping a little HH 7 yr BiB which is nice but really can't justify the $50 price. Would love to see a blind of these 3 with the Evan Williams to see if it's worth seeking any of these out.
I saw the J.W. Dant b.i.b. recently and wanted to try it but I only found it in plastic bottle handles so I passed. Are the bottles you're demonstrating glass or plastic bottles and do you think it makes a difference? Just curious, thanks.
Have you had a chance to try Burnt Church Distillery? The Bluffton is one I keep going back to at the moment. It’s a sourced whiskey out of Kentucky but it’s worth checking out imo.
Agreed, my favorite is the Dant as well. Cheaper and less peanut that the JTS. Both of them are very available in Indiana.

You can get these in Indiana as well
Love the J W Dant, wish I had bought more of it when I was in KY
You can always trust bottled in bond for taste and value. That being said, JTS Brown is my pick of this litter.

Oh BTW, if any of you ever grab the JTS make sure you grab the 100 and NOT the 80, as both bottles are nearly identical.
we only get the 80 proof here in Texas, and I'll say its good enought to make me excited to try the JTS BiB.

Love JTS, would love to try the Dant someday.
Just bought the JTS for $8.99 in San Antonio. Bomb! So underrated.
Thanks Jason, a fan of the Dant. $13.99 here and always available. Keep up the great work, cheers.

Thank you for the History on all these! I agree that the J.W. Dant is the best of the three.
At the Lexington Total Wine JTS Brown BIB is 12.98 for a 750ml and T.W. Samuel's is 21.98 for a handle
Brown is the current winner for me on price ($10.99). Also have bottles of Dant and MFC on hand from the HH bib crowd.
Love a good BiB with a screw cap!
I just killed a bottle of JW Dant. Found liter bottles on sale for $9.99 at my local store and picked up a six pack. I alternate between it and JTS Brown for super affordable daily drinker.
I haven't had the TW Samuels yet but I've had plenty of the JTS Brown and JW Dant and I would totally agree with your assessment on their profiles. 👍🥃
I appreciate the history lessons that you give. I find this information quite interesting. Also, I would like to know how these compare to Evan Williams BIB. Could you do that blind some time?

I really enjoyed this video! Thanks for providing the history lesson and a great inexpensive blend, Cheers!
Very interesting! I love the history lessons you do and the honest reviews.
J.T.S. Brown, drank by Fast Eddie Felson in The Hustler.
Never even heard of TW Samuels... but Dant and Brown are both available in Chicago

JW Dant... That's all my grandpa used to drink and he lived in Norfolk VA. Moved there from WV.
Great and entertaining review of 3 bourbons l'll never see or buy if l did. That along with the unicorns that you review that are about as different as can be but strangely the same as these 3...make your content top notch...thanks.
JTWSD for the blend name

I have not found the TW Samuel's BiB but I stock the JTS Brown BIB and JW Dant BIB both are solid value pours.
Tx Jason for doing budget reviews like this, will give the JTS a try, neither in MI. But do see the JTS in Indiana 👍
I threw in a JTS Brown BiB with a pick from Bourbon Outfitters (?) just to mitigate the shipping costs and really enjoy it.
both JTS and Dant are available in Chicagoland. Binnys for sure but I have seen them other locations. Samuals I am unsure about.
I have to drive out of town for JW and JTS. Have never seen the last one. JW is light but has a good taste and JTS is a lot like Early Times BiB but imo tastes a lot better.
I always see JTS Brown and JW Dant on the shelf in my area. Never seen the TW Samuels so I’ll have to look for that. 🥃
Wow..Man.Workin ‘man’s Drink.
J.W. Dant 12.80 on the shelf in Montana.
Though these are not available in my area, of course; I do think this was a very interesting review and comparison. This is very helpful for my next trip to Kentucky.

kosher bourbon for Passover ;-)

Good for us!
its trash bourbon....keep the price down. Garbage bourbon. Dont let them know 😁
Dant's great. A bit woodier than EWBiB in my opinion, but very comparable.
Call the blend the "Mash and Dram".
JW Dant is my replacement for Heaven Hill green label.
Two of them are almost always on the shelves here in Chicagoland (no Samuel's)
JTS Brown is available everywhere in Oregon.
Good glad its elsewhere.

Looks like we found some cheap whiskeys to age in personal barrels. Great video! Always love these
1783 is still my favorite cheap whiskey.
Good stuff Jason . I am more of a JTS fan , but as you said , it's more like 1A and 1B . Cheers Brother 🥃🥃
Jts Brown and JW Dant are easy to find in Illinois.
Glad to hear!
Dant was my favorite when I blinded it and JTS Brown and Evan Williams BiB. All great values though!
Just picked up a bottle in Indiana for 9.99
Have seen JTS in VA but not the others. I like the reviews of stuff not everyone I’d full access too. Broadens my horizons
👍

Makes no difference. And i hate plastic more than you

When is that Peerless pick coming out?
Very interested to see how they match up against Evan Williams BiB
Wooo
Evan Williams BIB for $10.99 at K&L over all of those and cheaper.
I found and bought JW Dant in Lockport NY last Saturday. First time I had ever saw it. $16.99 / 1L. Very good! Love your reviews too!
I got the Dant a cpl wks ago coincidentally. Fine mixer but a bit harsh and thin neat. (I will now floss, brush and moisturize in that order) 😁
JTS Brown, $18 for 1.75L in TEXAS.
Brown fan in Texarkana! Cheer's
First view!
