Former USPS P&DC employee (mail clerk) of 14 years in South Carolina. Found you through your recent video on the woman found dead in the USPS facility in Palmetto, Ga. Do any mail carriers have a/c in their mail trucks, or are they all without cool air? This doesn't make any sense - I mean how hard can it be to equip your trucks with a/c? 😩Or is this one of those things that management will not budge on? 🙄
Hazardous for the poor little supervisors☢️😂😂😂 This is why the post office is a joke. Supervisors sit back, protected by their union, while they have us carriers out here risking our lives in this intense heat. We’re the ones getting punished and rushed to death for not delivering fast enough, while they won’t even step outside. And then people wonder why some carriers throw away mail or ‘steal time.’ Honestly, who cares anymore? The whole system is broken.
I wish they would let us start early on hot days like the rural carriers. If I was allowed to band out my stops and get everything organized I’d be done by 2. Getting the mail up earlier would help too.
I don't have any sympathy for carriers who run through their routes and sign the no-lunch list, and that's almost all the carriers. Grow a backbone and stand up to your supervisors. They can't fire you, so what are you afraid of?
They should bring us more earlier to finish earlier, they do it for money in the Christmas rush. Why not for safety. This is the southerners battle every year fighting for our lives.
We should get hazard pay on days 85 and above! Or be able to say it’s unsafe to do our route. Because at 85 degrees it’s got to be about 101 in the drivers seat with the Ace Ventura rhino fan blaring!
We just heard on the news that it is the hottest period in Ohio's history since at least 1974 we haven't had this many 90-degree days since 50 years ago
Last summer, while still in my 90, I collapsed from the heat, contacted my 204, and told him what happened. He told me to come back to the office immediately ... And then sent me out for another 4hrs. The next day I worked, I brought along a thermostat ... My LLV reached 127deg inside. A year later, the same 204 was instructed by the station manager to take a pivot out and deliver it (mins you, it wasn't even over 100deg) ... He made it less than an hour before complaining about the heat, bringing all the mail back, going home, and calling out sick for the next three days.
If the mail has to be delivered in heat the supevisors deem unsafe for themselves in LLVs, the mail should not be delivered that day. Upgrade the dang fleet. If nothing else, a hot day should at least have the reprieve of air conditioning between loops. This isn't freaking 1950. And every vehicle should have a well-insulated, several-gallons tank of safe and cool drinking water, bare minimum. We aren't children begging forced down the coalmines to feed their ailing parents. We aren't working for pennies to buy bread in the Great Deprssison, although "pooor widdle USPS" would have us thinking that. Treat your employees right or lose 'em.

Hazard for Supervisers but not Carriers 🤥🤒😵
We need a new contract. I need dental work done man it costs too much for crowns .
I know maybe you carries should walk after Labor Day as stike they don’t care about the carries
Said no supervisor.
At least their “union” is advocating for their constituents. You listening NALC?
People are picketing
Yeah but they can send us. They are assholes

If it’s too hot for them, then it’s too hot for us and we shouldn’t be forced to work in it either

Why aren’t we protesting? Picketing on off hours or working very slowly?
