Makhachev lost the first match, first of all only the judges gave him some benefits of the doubt cause he is abu dhabi favorite with all the hype he gets and he was the champ, secondly he got knockout years ago by a nobody so he is not perfect either , volkanovski lost that one of course cause of many things, timing and as he said he was a bit delusional he risk too much that he did accept the fight, now we have to wait and see next lightweights, and last of this , you don't tell me what to do and who i do write about on the internet, as you have no power over this , here i respond you like this , irl i fix your attitude in MMA terms, and you like Islam Makhachev VS (ADRIANO MARTINS)
Alex's legacy is secure IMO.
- 20+ straight wins in MMA.
- He beat Max (another featherweight legend) 3x, beat Aldo (previous featherweight legend).
- 5 featherweight title defenses (& counting)
He took a risk, got a massive payday & it didn't work out. No one should punish him for it. His legacy will only grow if he finds a way to win again at featherweight. I usually like to see a fighter take a full year off after a KO, but we'll see how this Topuria fight goes.
Yeah I think its a bad idea to fight again so soon. It wasn't just the head kick, it was getting his head stuck on Islam's knee while Islam was pummeling it from above like a hammer and anvil.

Sometimes it's like Ariel doesn't understand what the fighter is actually saying. Like when Ariel implies Volk referred to "timing" as not having more time. But that's not exactly what Volk meant. Volk meant timing in regards to the unfortunate mental space he was in which affected his physical as well. Volk wasn't harping on "more time." He was harping on when it HAPPENED to have happened. This may seem insignificant but I don't think it is. And I've seen Ariel do this many times and it's frustrating because the damn fighter is pouring their heart out only to be misunderstood in some fleeting response.

Sometimes I question whether journalists aren't doing that on purpose for content. I would consider that frustrating in a normal conversation, perhaps it's meant to get the interviewee amped up?
Ariel only understands what he wants to and than do whatever to disrespect guys. he gets people to come not sure how but defi don't like him but he does get the fighters somehow to show up.

Yeah it was so obvious what volk was saying, he made it very clear and then Ariel starts talking about volk saying he needed more time as if he never listened to anything he said. Like, what's the point of even having him in on when you have clear talking points no matter what the fighter says

People are so quick to forget, this is the featherweight GOAT we're talking about. Still in his prime. As long as he doesn't overdo his stay into his 40s when a decline is inevitable, I don't see anyone currently in the division beating him. There will need to be new blood and a world beater to take that belt from the man. Islam has proven he is the monster many thought he was and Volk taking that fight on 10 days notice after admitting to being a little out of shape and in relaxation (drinking) mode was just a bad decision in retrospect. He's not getting beat by lowly Ilia, this is EZ money. Max would destroy Ilia and we know how each and every Max fight went ;)

Second Islam fight is a whatever fight for me. Coming off a week training (if even that cuz of traveling) against a guy who's had a full camp is nuts. He probably won't get an opportunity again, but his legacy is still intact.
Volk isn’t finished; he was just chilling on the couch not training. Volk was coming off a surgery before he got the call for the fight with Islam. He should have not taken the fight, but the warrior in him did, so can’t fault him for going for greatness.
He was talking the big game before the fight though , and then he blames it on preparation , he wasnt consistent with his narrative ,
@@bugsbunny7168 It was a short notice fight. It was totally a preparation thing. He only had 11 days while Islam had 2 months to prepare. Also you have to sell a fight. Casual fans like yourself need to take emotions out of it and use your logic and common sense.
