Hi ....just curious....is the colour pencil your using the normal one or the fabric pencil. If so where can i get it?
Can u teach ladies pant cutting and stichings. Your explanation are perfect .thank you mam
You say upper body divided by 6 & + if your biceps are heavy. How does the biceps have a connection here? It's the bust line only. It's a bit confusing here.
It adds more ease, I have the same problem. My biceps are large, when i divide my upper body by 6 to get the armhole height the finished garment is always tight (unable to move arms freely) but if i add about 1/2" more to the final measurement It fits right. Long story short, my bust is 47 /6= 8.3 but i increase it to 9 inches for more ease. I hope that helps.
The arm hole is the place were you are going to stitch your sleeves. Say you are a lean person with a large amount of arm fat , You would be measuring your chest round at its fullest and divide it by 6 and will draw your arm hole or as an other variation you would be taking your arm hole round and divide it by 2 by both the ways the answer will be the same ( check it for clarity). Therefore in order to reduce the work of mesurement recording chest divided by 6 is made as a thumb rule. Now you will be cutting your sleeves as per sleeve measurement which includes upper arm or your biceps measurement you have prepared the pattern when you stitch there is a big piece of cloth in the sleeve which could not be attached to your dress. So you will have to cut away the extras now your sleeves will become super tight. To avoid this problem if you use your bicep measurement for arm hole marking. Your finished dress will have a big bulge of cloth under your arm hole. Hope you understood. If I am too long my apologies
Hey. I like the analysis. Quick question would you still divide by 6 if it is a man's shirt? Does it fit if you divide the burst by 4 and then use that measurement to determine the armhole depth? Would that affect the sleeve differently from your above analysis?
It's a shortcut to obtain the armscye depth without having to make an additional measurement. It assumes that the relationship between biceps/armscye depth and body length is equal for everyone. If you are making your own garment and not trying to mass produce I think it's better to take the trouble to measure the armscye depth separately rather than use this shortcut.
I'm not a good one but my experience its upper body divided by 4 but she said by 6 I got misunderstood ....
Hi shama i like your video. I am malayalee. I know tamil but i can't speak.
❤
You speak VERY fast, and I cannot comprehend why you place the french curve precisely where you do, and in that exact position.
