That's just a misunderstanding. What I meant is that we were taught about the luo of Kenya (Joka Owiny, Joka Jok and Joka Omollo) but not the other groups that remained behind like Jopadhola, Acholi, Anywaa, Alur or Shilluk etc.
The luo in Kenya is not a single entity, the single entity was motivated by colonial writers and politics where by the Kenya luo because manority to other bantu tribes, monority doesn't meant they originated from a single, or one grand parent.

The others that arent of those two are the children of Kwonga who was connected to our more general ancestress, Nyilak. Our kings directly trace their lineages to Nyipir after his crossing and the clans formed along that journey are there to date!
