I make t-shirt rugs. I think you would like it! You just cut up old shirts or go to a thrift store for old shirts and get the colors you want then braid and weave them together. Its really cool and easy!
Hi guys!!!! You do need to put your string through the little hole in the punch needle as well!! The one video I watched taught me wrong haha it will help with the control!!!
punch needling is so entertaining, along with the rugs you can make patches, pillowcases, stuffed animals, etc, and I've even seen some people embroidery clothing. it's so cool seeing everyone's creations
I came here to learn how make a rug but fuck you’re word usage and just way of speaking has made me feel good. You’re honestly so charming keep up the great work girl!
We did this in 8th grade and it took such a long time to finish everything off. Plus, the outline tends to not show up when you cut off the excess yarn to make it even. But it’s all worth it in the end.❤️
I just came across this channel and I cannot express how amazed I am by the time and effort she actually puts into liking AND replying to her comments. Love to see a UA-camr actually be interactive. Definitely will be subbing✨
This is the coolest hobby! And I love seeing your art come to life! Can I give a little pro tip? That little hole on the side at the tip of your punch needle... The yarn needs to go through that hole as well :) So thread up through the side hole and down, grab the yarn and pull :) So it should go through the inner tube and out the SIDE hole, not straight out the tip :) Also, mod podge is wonderful for sealing the back! AND you can turn these into wall art/tapestry’s if you don’t want worry about ruining them on the floor 🥰🥰 KEEP UP THE FUN!!!
I need all of my how to guides to be this chaotic. I started making jewelry because of your wire ring video and now im probably gonna try and make some rugs lol
I'm excited to try this. I used to make the hook rugs when I was a little girl so yea rugs are way easier than people think I was making them at like 5 haha love it thanks for reminding me of my very first hobby and getting me interested again.
Be careful with hand pain! Taking breaks to stretch your hands and body when you start to hurt is important so you don’t hurt yourself and make it harder to craft in the future! I gave myself stress injuries in my hands earlier this year and I’ve had to be really careful since.
You're amazing! I think it's lovely you are showing people how todo it themselves. I still do hope though one day i might own some of your art in rug form.
A couple tips: 1. Hobby lobby has stretcher bars that you can use to make any size frame you want! 2. The yarn is supposed to go through that little hole in the punch needle. Enjoy :)
I started a rug making business cuz of this and even went and bought the tufting machine. It’s a lot of fun but it does take skill to make nice looking rugs for others I’ll say that
omg I am obsessed with that alien girl rug - it is fucking incredible - please consider opening an online store one day, I would 100% be a customer. If the whole like etsy store - having to make and send stuff out seems like too much stress maybe-please-possibly consider putting some of your designs on t-shirts - my husband sells his art on clothing that is all printed & shipped via a thirdparty & it's pretty low stress because you don't have to handle the payments/printing/shipping directly - I would honestly rock the fuck out of any of your designs on a sweatshirt or tshirt
omg this is soooooooo sweet ahhhh!!!!!! thats amazing your husband does that thats such a dream!!! i will think about it!! thank you for sharing this with me!!!
@@ThePennyArcade He uses Printful. It's print on demand, so it can take a little longer for items to ship, but it's great for beginners that don't want to risk the upfront cost and hassle of printing and shipping it themselves. Printify is another good one, too.
This is cool af but the backing cloth you are using I'm fairly sure is lightweight interfacing. It has a coating on one side meant to be ironed on intended to make thin fabric stiffer. Try a felt backing for the next rugs it may protect them more than the thin interfacing :) I cant wait to see more of your work!
Great job..been watching a few rug videos..yours was definitely informative..I new to this but I think I'ma give it a try..I create music..I create clothing..why not rugs🤷♂️
I see myself in your chaotic energy but like in a good way, like you're really out here doing it, I wanna make rugs but haven't started, but this gave me the push I needed, thank you so much
it’s the “I’m not gonna b mercy” hands for me . it’s the TALENT AND CHARISMA FOR MEEEE I love u and these rugs and this video . I have in fact: subscribed very very happily. 😎👍💕
Hey! I just wanted to let you know, the backing fabric that you used looks like interfacing and it looks like the tear away kind. It's really cheap for a reason. I'd use felt, or if you really wanna use interfacing I would buy non-fusible and REALLY thick.😄
Yesss that looks amazing, I've also found tufting a rewarding experience! If you want to make your loops look more uniform in size and 'neater' (if that is what you're into) i find it helpa to nail gun your fabric real tight instead of using the nails. It holds way better and tighter! You can cut the cloth off or just use a nail remover to remove/put backing etc! Just what I've found but art is in your hands! Do whatever feels/looks the best to you 💕
Etsy is getting really greedy with the fees so you would be better off making your own website. This way you make 100% pure profit for all your hard work. ❤️
You're a queen! Just found your channel because of this and it is so open and honest. This is exactly what I've been looking for to learn! Thank you sm
Thankyou so much!! I saw a video on TikTok and I wanted to try it lol, this video helped me understand how to do it a lot, just sent the video to my mom and hopefully I’ll be able to start it as a new hobby

Sounds like another hobby to add to my hobby hoard. I'm seriously obsessed with the alien girl rug!
omg thank you so much!!!! and its so much fun and i swear so easy!!!!!
I have made a couple of small things, and it is incredibly gratifying as crafts go.
your energy is A-1 ✨
"i used to do mushrooms" yes i will take that out of context

Whhheeeennnn
I’d buy your stuff too!
i weirdly would feel bad selling my stuff haha but maybe one day hah :))))
PLS I LOVE HOW EXCITED AND PASSIONATE YOU ARE WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT RUGS AHHH
This tutorial is actually very helpful and entertaining at the same time.
:)))) thank you!!!!
A tip for your frame: Use an embroidery hoop instead! They have all types of shapes and sizes!
I’m gonna be so broke after all of these craft videos lmao
at least we will be broke with cool crafts hahah
@@AmyOverby I mean , we can sell it :v
I make t-shirt rugs. I think you would like it! You just cut up old shirts or go to a thrift store for old shirts and get the colors you want then braid and weave them together. Its really cool and easy!
this is so cool ive never heard of it!! im gonna give it a try!!! thank you for telling me about it!!!
My grandmother taught me how to cut up old clothes for rugs, only made one.....I think I may have to get back into that
All that yarn behind you, makes me really want to knit a sweater. I just have to learn to knit first LOL
learn how to crochet !! it’s fun i think it’s easier tbh
i just learned its so fun!!!! ceocheting is way easier tho!!!!!
@@AmyOverby My old brain would prefer as easy as possible 😂
Knitting is fairly easy it’s just remember the different skills but besides that you can make cool stuff in a short amount of time :)
Top tip! Crochet is easier and faster but knitting requires less yarn

I remember watching this months ago and I finally got my punch needle today I’m so excited to make some rugs!!!
loved how straight to the point you were !
you can use hessian jute instead of monks cloth its wayy cheaper - tip from my mum who did it in the 70s
I love the energy of this girl JAJA so much fun!
I came here to learn how make a rug but fuck you’re word usage and just way of speaking has made me feel good. You’re honestly so charming keep up the great work girl!
Thank you for sharing the time you slept and woke up! I’m the same and starting to feel weird cause people judge me! But now I feel better 😽
thank you UA-cam algorithms for suggesting Amy’s video, whose introduced me to a hobby I didn’t know I needed🤧✨
Your energy is hectic and I love it
Amy,, Amy please,, I can't keep taking on new hobbies

I love this series honestly
omg thanks harry :))))
You give me Drew Monson vibes and I love it and I love you and I love your art 💛
I feel like they'd be so cute framed
omg dude shes so pretty
helpful advice, the yarn is suppose to go through the small hole as well which is what helps make nicer loops
not just through the main hole/body of the punch needle
To become a real rug pro takes about 6-8 months. Keep up the good work.
Same i saw all over instagram from videos shared from Tic-Toc and now i want to make and sell rugs lol
Be careful with hand pain! Taking breaks to stretch your hands and body when you start to hurt is important so you don’t hurt yourself and make it harder to craft in the future! I gave myself stress injuries in my hands earlier this year and I’ve had to be really careful since.

A couple tips:
1. Hobby lobby has stretcher bars that you can use to make any size frame you want!
2. The yarn is supposed to go through that little hole in the punch needle.
Enjoy :)
Your loops will be bigger and more uniform.
3. I use primary tufting cloth and it’s similar, but cheaper than the price you mentioned I think.
love this chaotic energy and im learning. fave part: 4:48
I can barely afford my meals but i will definitely buy yarns and punch needles 🤣
I love your attitude 💕
