Gold silver metallics in I. Wallpaper and finishes and even in upholstery Weaves. Nice work today. I’m sure glad brown flooring is back. I have reddish brown hues. I never changed my floor colors. I embraced them! 😊🥰👍🏻
Brown makes me feel cozy and sophisticated! I finally purchased a leather sofa in guess what, brown! Just about my entire home is done in earthy tones. Walls are Benjamin Moore “From the Archives “. I have greens, rust, copper and linen color as accents. It’s taken me decades to have the style of my dreams!
I’m Capricorn earth sign - always loved brown and the natural wood tone colours…Aldo use plants for colour- it all feels very organic, natural and peaceful, warm, cozy…love it ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏
Wow Julie what a fantastic video! I love love love all these designs incorporating browns. I especially like mink/fawn/milk chocolate tones with textural elements, and chocolate browns combined with eggplant/pinot noir/raisin wide wale corduroy or velvet. You said it - sumptious!
I love my chocolate brown linen sofa with my seagrass area rugs and linen walls. These brown/caramel tones make my living room feel grounded and cozy. I'm about to have 2 MCM chairs recovered in a coral print for some oomph. There are also shade of coral in several pieces of art in the space. Love this color combo!
I am a brown fan. The limewash statement caught my attention. I have browns in my living room. People entering my home for the first time comment on how they love it. Even men absolutely love it. It surprises me to hear this from men who enjoy fishing and hunting. These men are not into decorating, so it's a real compliment.
I have loved brown for a long time! For decades my favorite color combo is blue and brown. Thanks for showing ideas! We have bought our retirement home and are starting to decorate. Would love to see ideas with a brown reclining sofa. It is a requirement of my husband and we will only have 1 family/living room. And Drew is awesome!!
Yesss Julie! 🤎 This is the type of content I've been craving for. I LOVED all the tips, images and inspiration in this video. And your personality really shined here... you're becoming more and more fun to watch. I would love to see red on your color series. Thanks so much for the awesome video. ❤️
This one’s for YOU Jackie! 🤎 Thank you for being such an encouraging source of support through the years. You da real MVP with all your ideas and suggestions love!! Keep em coming! 🙏🏻🤗💕
I love it when a designer can make a brown something look freakin rad. Look at the blah brown couch in the baby pink living room in the Filomena…suddenly it’s a gorgeous couch
I have a tiny north facing room with a porch roof outside of it. I’m turning it into a dark, moody little library. I’m excited to get it started/finished.
I had a chocolate brown sofa for a few years. Wanted to wrap it 2-3 years ago in gray when it was in but i didnt have the funds to nor could afford a new 1. So i had to make do and researched colours for a cozy but neutral decor and chose white and beige. Im glad i was broke cause now its back i love it even more.
I always felt before that brown was a “granny” and boring color. Never realized how elegant and beautiful brown can be. After watching this episode, I want to go out and buy a brown sofa and paint a few rooms now. lol
This is why I always look forward to watching new uploads from you Julie! We learn something new everytime! 😍 I used to binge-watch your channel and because of it, my new home is now slowly looking designer (in my opinion 😂) because of everything that I am learning from this channel. Thank God I learned about mixing wood tones here. This made me incorporate mixed woods and intended not to match all tones. 🥰
I have the color cognac leather sofa and loveseat. I love the colors rust, orange, brown, gold and cream. They pair so well together. My bedroom furniture is brown.
Hello Julie, this video gave me some inspiration on my first project. I would love to see a decorating with RED video. That's the tome I'm going for in my basement project. Thanks & be blessed!!
Love me sm rich brown in a room especially in the floors and chairs. Such a foundational color. And off topic, just gotta add ur makeup n hair in the video r absolutely flawless! Great video!
Thank you so much! 🥰 The white oak and light floors were never appealing to me, it was great for the grays and minimalist whites- but I prefer rich walnut/ medium grain woods to support brown tones! 🤎
I purchased a Persian 9x12 area rug for my living room, cream and brown, I thought it was going to be too much but to my surprise it’s a beautiful rug and looks great. Now I have to figure out if my mahogany coffee table and tv stand are going to be too much and if I might have to buy new table and tv stand…😂😂😂
Nooooo. They would be perfect. I’ve recently bought a large area Persian rug and thought the dark wooden TV stand and coffee table wouldn’t look right but they just pop.
It needed to come back. We’ve had cement colored walls, carpet, tile and accessories for a good 20+ years. Cold and uninviting. Brown works well with other colors. I am a winter so the grays are ok but not everything.
I’ve always incorporated brown into my home because my personal style leans heavily into Arts & Crafts. I always opt for brown when choosing leather seating because it’s still sophisticated but much easier on the eyes than black leather, and much more versatile paired with other cozy, organic colors. Glad to see that I was on the right track even though at the time I got some side eye by moving away from the white marble and gray everything everywhere trend and choosing coffee brown granite countertops and cream cabinets paired with the original knotty pine paneling when I renovated the kitchen in my 1950s fixer upper in 2015. Too many people seem to be conditioned by the cheap flipper shows on HGTV to reject the natural organic richness and coziness of brown in interiors.
My living room has a western ranch feel with exposed rough beams and burnt butterscotch paneling so I naturally have used brown along with red and turquoise. I just covered my brown leather sofa with a tan slipcover because it is 30 plus years old showing wear. Over that I stretched a black and white cow print throw blanket. I love brown too. My two mules are brown. 🤠😸🌵
Hi Julie Wow so many amazing ideas to incorporate brown ❤❤❤❤ I find brown chic , I don’t have much around my house I just changed my cushions cover and throws and few pieces of furniture I love Lone fox home as well, he is unbelievable talented Next colour? Hard to pick one 😂😂😂 Have a nice week 😘😘😘😘
SO chic right?! There’s a “brown” for every aesthetic in my eyes! 🤎 I think I’m going to do red or purple next since these darker tints are trending hard for 2025 Flavia!
@ I just love this series ♥️♥️♥️♥️ Would be very interesting to see red or purple as I find very challenging to incorporate in a house I can’t wait for the next video 😘😘😘😘
Brown wood or any woo that ages even to a honey color is warm. A color that I would like to add, maybe as a punch, is yellow. Not green-yellow, but yes to butter yellow and some mustard yellows. How to introduce the warm glow of yellow?
I agree! I have mustard velvet pillows on my dark chocolate brown leather sofa, paired with William Morris tapestry pillows in burgundy, blue, green, and beige. The sofa was reading a bit “flat”without that pop of mustard yellow. It’s a simple way to inject life and energy into a cozy space.
TY Julie for pointing out "brown", I've always loved late/mocha/brown color, it's such a warm feeling, so sick of the white & gray, I have white trim in my kitchen/living room/hallway, dark floor, walls are almost like a yellow, not bright, but we will be painting the walls, and my spouse & I, are having a hard time picking a different color, he wants a light gray, what my bathroom is, but I want a cream color/beige for living room/dining room/hallway, I've always loved earth tone colors, olive greens, are always cozy,
Try a warm French gray. It can read gray or off white depending on the tint. Sometimes with brown tones in there for warmth. Stay away from cool blue tints- you’ll lean into more pure white/ more cold/ less warm. But also depends on the furniture you have in place Emilia
Finally, I can replace my espresso colored Sofa that is decades old. Yes, my favorite color is Dark Chocolate Brown & Leopard print (Brown & Camel tones) So sick of white/grey tones... looking forward to seeing all warm tones coming back, ready to get key pieces.
I am here for the brown! As always, thank you for your content and joyful vibe. I’ve been out of the country for October and I’ve missed your channel I have had various brown sofas for 20+ years. It’s always been grounding and cozy to me. I love browns, happy to be past the grey, and the white. Those were never my colors, it will be nice to see brown tones back in the stores for more accessory choices. Once again, thank you for your content. Much love ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Welcome back Steph!! 🤎 Totally here for the browns! Especially against olive/ rich greens, I can honestly say I’m just now finding MY style in my 40s era! Grounding and comfort is key 🙌🏻
Thanks for the great vide! As always you have such good insights that really covers this color vs. just mentioning organic modern. Due to some furniture shipping issues a few years ago I pivoted from a cream linen sofa sofa in my living room to a mink brown velvet one and really never looked back. There are all types and textures of brown throughout the spaces, including some small marble side tables I recently added next to the sofa that are brown, grey, and white. I'm so glad I switched to a brown sofa. I'd love a video like this for pink. I love the color but find I don't use it a lot in my home and I want that to change, lol.
I’m a huge pink fan 💗 So many ways to use it in both masculine and feminine spaces. It’s a pretty androgynous color to me- can’t wait to share more inspo so y’all see what I see! Thank you for watching Chauncy 🤗
Thank you so much for this video! I am a 65-year-old grandma and I definitely love the dark academia vibe minus the Harry Potter part. Although I love the movies. I love to live with my apartment decorated in auto terminal colors. So sofa and loveseat and recliner are a chocolate brown faux look leather. My few furniture pieces are Cherrywood. My draperies are tan. I guess is what you would call it. I would love it if you would, please do another video on how I could continue this look of browns and goals and burnt oranges and burnished, reds and sage greens and slate blues and all those kind of colors that go together… How can I carry that into my small apartment bedroom in terms of a comforter/duvet and also into my bathroom that also has Cherrywood Cabinets andgreige walls. Obviously I don’t want every single thing to be a dark brown. A dark brown comforter and a dark brown shower curtain might be a bit much but I really am at loss of how to add things that make the apartment flow but still being based on my dark brown Sofa and case goods I definitely get that putting a white comforter on the bed would look kind of dull. And I guess a solid brown shower curtain would look kind of boring too, but is something with a brown pattern in it the way to go for those two items? I don’t know. I’m not very creative. I dislike auto colors and I love brown.
Warm colors and cool work beautifully. Think how nice turquoise and brown look. Take a look at the color wheel and incorporate jewel tones with the browns. Julie covers the color wheel. She has a beautiful turquoise console in her living room with that brown sofa she cherishes. It’s looks beautiful together. She likes jewel tones. Good Luck🍀
I still have a chocolate suede camel back sofa from the last time it was in style with brass/gold green and blue around it. My new favorite color is a burgundy I’ve seen with lavender and blue. It goes with brown. I’m thinking about a small dose without drowning in burgundy.
I wish there were links to the different colors in your description. There is a couple I would like to watch and can’t find them. Thanks for the content. Very helpful.
I just "discovered" you and subscribed. I love the visuals you show on your videos (I took a look at a couple of them). I also super love the coat/poncho you are wearing. Where did you get it? Could you give us a link? I could live all fall and winter wrapped on it! 😁
Our arts and crafts home interior is painted in a brown color called Baked Potato. It’s grounding and serene and balanced by lots of light and cream linens, greens and blues.
Pretty! It’s lighter than chocolate, more latte, love this color paired with greens and blues. I can totally see it in a craftsmen style space Carrie 😍
I paint my furniture a lot and I tried chocolate brown...but it's not for me : I prefer charcoal grey, dark emerald green or kakis... My chance is that I have wood floorings , a raw wood panel ( modern 😄) in my living, furniture with a lot of different woods, quite dark, everywhere. I have a sofa wich is between muted pink/terracotta/brown. And I am thinking to buy a cognac leather chair. 😉 So...yes, I kind of like brown, but not everywhere. And, yes, the european countryside room is reeeeaaaally lovely 😍! Thank you Julie..🙏🙏🙏
Thank you. I want to paint a bedroom brown but I'm unsure of what color the furnishings should be. I thought of getting a brown velvet headboard....... is that too much brown on brown?
That’s up to you and your design intent Talisa. Brown on brown could look lovely with ivory bedding (like my previous primary bedroom). You can also go high contrast with beige/tan/cream headboard. Mood board it out to help you visualize the two looks! I have a video on how to do that if you need help 🤗
You have a lot of influence, for me. I painted my walls green after watching your green video. Now I want to incorporate Brown furniture after this video ❤. Do you have the link for the beautiful curtains you mentioned that you purchased?
That’s awesome Leticia! 💚🤎 I’m preparing for the full reveal of my primary bedroom- all the relaxing greens and comforting browns coming your way! My bedroom sheers/curtains are linked in my Amazon shop- link in the description box 🙌🏻😚
I selected shares of brown as my new bedroom Decor. 😂 The sheet I purchased online said brown but looks more light orange and the comforter is a more rust orange/brown. Still it works
I think brown "in dosages," like you mentioned, looks good. My understanding, from watching Lone Fox videos, is that Drew's degree is in project management with some design courses. 😊
I love my chocolate brown leather sofa and wooden furniture. My contrast fall color cushions are in tones of sand, burgundy, and matte gold. The only thing I cannot get behind is a brown bathroom, it reminds me too much of poop on the wall.
Depends on the stain. If the baseboard is already natural wood, I would strip it and stain to my desired hue. If it’s paint-grade MDF that was painted brown, definitely paint another color. White is ok if that’s the consistent trim color you already have in the home. If not, why not try color!?! (Watch my color playlist for more inspiration 😉)
I have at least 30% brown in all of my living spaces, mixed with greens, rusts and creams with the odd pop of colours., including cognac . The thought of painting a beautiful dark oak piece of furniture a garish colour is horrifying.
I see the beautiful tapestry as the focal point so why block it with a gaudy sofa facing away? I’d prefer 2 leather arm chairs there so you can circulate around, and a more dignified couch elsewhere with a view of that wall.
I definitely agree, but scale is everything. I bet it was too short to make a statement so they chose behind the sofa instead. Still makes quite an impact ⚡️
I have never heard of Jotun, but I’ve used Dulux. I’m biased tho- I love Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Behr Marquee, F&B. Really just depends on the room and application, but if you find a color you love- any paint vendor can color match it 👍
Wood furniture and picture frames and fake cowhyde rug and bedroom carpet laminate "wood" floor. Never taught about brown as a color. For me it always ended up in same category as black white grey and beige. As something that grounds the area and then comes the "real" colours as blue green and so on
its not about brown everywhere lol its about modern contemporary with neiges..taupes...golds..creams....a statement coffee chocolate wall....taupe sofas....oatmeal/mink carpet/////japandi and stuff......all that dark brown just doesnt fit lolol
We’ve covered decorating with brown, black, blue, green, and gray in our color series! What color should we do next?! Pls vote below! 🤗
Gold silver metallics in I. Wallpaper and finishes and even in upholstery Weaves. Nice work today. I’m sure glad brown flooring is back. I have reddish brown hues. I never changed my floor colors. I embraced them! 😊🥰👍🏻
Different shades of orange or red. 😊
I would also like oranges, reds, yellowish ....( Not the easiest I guess..😄).
Purple and lilac please!
How to work with grey that you can't change.
My home is painted brown… in side is a sea of browns and tans, warm woods… I love brown… pops of burgundy and rust.. green plants to balance it out
The perfect palette Idalia! Sounds like the Soho home aesthetic which is totally up my alley 🤎
Browns, greens, nature colors, and wood are my favorites! Cozy, warm and makes me feel alive!
Yes!! Alive!! But comforted and cozy at the same time 🤎🧸🍪
Julie, totally off topic but you are looking fabulous ❤
Aww thank you so much 🤗🧸
Brown makes me feel cozy and sophisticated! I finally purchased a leather sofa in guess what, brown! Just about my entire home is done in earthy tones. Walls are Benjamin Moore “From the Archives “. I have greens, rust, copper and linen color as accents. It’s taken me decades to have the style of my dreams!
How cool, I have the same colour palette.. I also have a chocolate brown leather sofa that I have now had for over a decade and still love😊
I’m Capricorn earth sign - always loved brown and the natural wood tone colours…Aldo use plants for colour- it all feels very organic, natural and peaceful, warm, cozy…love it ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏
Your mood really starts to shift in a room with this organic natural palette. It’s like you’re one with the room 💆🏼♀️😍🤎
So much good design and color that I would never think to pair brown with! So glad I could help share all this yummy inspiration! 🤗🍫🍩🍪🌰🤎
Brown has featured in all my homes - love the spectrum from dark mahoganies to pale mango woods.
There’s really a wood tone for everyone! 🍂🍁🤎
That’s what I’m aiming for next for these walls- linen! Love the luxe look and earthy feel 😍
I am a brown fan. The limewash statement caught my attention. I have browns in my living room. People entering my home for the first time comment on how they love it. Even men absolutely love it. It surprises me to hear this from men who enjoy fishing and hunting. These men are not into decorating, so it's a real compliment.
I’m going to try the brown limewash for my husband’s bathroom. It’s rich and masculine, but also love the depth of color 🤎
so to get the brown colour do you stain it with brown? Because when you cut a tree its always a pine colour on the inside?
I love brown! It's so cozy - and natural.
Combined with natural greens- I love this mix!
THIS!!! 🙌🏻 Yup, just hang on. Everything “OUT” will be in again and we can revisit the big picture with a fresh perspective 🤎
Decorating with pink ❤your work !
I always felt before that brown was a “granny” and boring color. Never realized how elegant and beautiful brown can be. After watching this episode, I want to go out and buy a brown sofa and paint a few rooms now. lol
Brown velvet sofa never goes out of style!! 🤎🤎🤎
You talk so fast! Love warm neutrals!
This is why I always look forward to watching new uploads from you Julie! Haha I love that! Tell your guests “Julie taught me that!” 🙌🏻🤗 Love you Michelle!! 🤎
I have the color cognac leather sofa and loveseat. I love the colors rust, orange, brown, gold and cream. They pair so well together. My bedroom furniture is brown.
I’ve always loved brown…thanks for the ideas!😊
I love brown furniture 😊
Especially love raw natural finishes 😍
I would love to see decorating in pink or accents in pink
I love brown. Our living room is brown with blue accents.
Every room of my home has some element of brown in it! It’s so comforting 🧸
I color drenched my bedroom in Behr Stone Brown. I love how it turned out!
Hello Julie, this video gave me some inspiration on my first project. I would love to see a decorating with RED video. That's the tome I'm going for in my basement project. Thanks & be blessed!!
I loved this video a lot. Thank you, Julie.
Thank you so much for watching 🤎
Love Brown! I actually just painted my hall brown to then hang my family photos on.
I can see white mats on white frames for high contrast! 😍
I love the color themed videos
Thank you for watching! 🤎
Love me sm rich brown in a room especially in the floors and chairs. Such a foundational color.
And off topic, just gotta add ur makeup n hair in the video r absolutely flawless!
Great video!

Very timely!! I'm designing with brown right now! ❤❤❤

So many shades to feel comforted and inspired by! 🤎🌅
@@JulieKhuu Yeah, my kids and friends tell me not to get rid of the sofa because it is way too comfortable. 🤩
Julie, could you do a video on an insight feng shui wise for a bird bath and essential oil diffuser please 🙏🏻
Really enjoyed this… very helpful 💯
Thank you for this video
Very calming
Hi Julie
Wow so many amazing ideas to incorporate brown ❤❤❤❤
I find brown chic , I don’t have much around my house
I just changed my cushions cover and throws and few pieces of furniture
I love Lone fox home as well, he is unbelievable talented
Next colour? Hard to pick one 😂😂😂
Have a nice week 😘😘😘😘
SO chic right?! There’s a “brown” for every aesthetic in my eyes! 🤎 I think I’m going to do red or purple next since these darker tints are trending hard for 2025 Flavia!
@ I just love this series ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Would be very interesting to see red or purple as I find very challenging to incorporate in a house
I can’t wait for the next video 😘😘😘😘
I loved those hotel pics- has a mid-century vibe to me. 😎

@JulieKhuu thanks for the tips.
Finally, I can replace my espresso colored Sofa that is decades old. Yes, my favorite color is Dark Chocolate Brown & Leopard print (Brown & Camel tones)
So sick of white/grey tones... looking forward to seeing all warm tones coming back, ready to get key pieces.
Brilliant episode. Always look forward to your video with much excitement. Even better if we can cover a similar segment on black and white.
I have decorating with black on the channel now, check it out! 😎 (adding b/w! Love this idea 🔳🔲🙌🏻)
I am here for the brown! As always, thank you for your content and joyful vibe. I’ve been out of the country for October and I’ve missed your channel

Added!! L🩷VE!!
You mentioned where to buy everything but the one thing I need to know where to get... that Fall cloak you're wearing! :D
I have some fab paint palette videos that call out HUNDREDS of different neutrals including warm browns- check out my paint playlist for more details!
Love love love this content! Thank you! By the way, your hair color is gorgeous! Much love from the Philippines 🇵🇭
Thank you so much for watching! 🤎
please do decorating with red - especially deep reds
Another vote for red! ❤️
Love the bangs! Fresh ❤

Autumnal hues 🍁🍂🤎 some of my best designs evolved from happy accidents 😉
@JulieKhuu 😀
I think brown "in dosages," like you mentioned, looks good. My understanding, from watching Lone Fox videos, is that Drew's degree is in project management with some design courses. 😊
Drew’s is the hardest working DIY interior design channel out there! He deserves all the success! Such a talent, I’m a fan! 🤎
@JulieKhuu I love his DIY projects and his decor ideas. He has such a great eye!
@@JulieKhuuDrew almost has too much talent for someone as young as he is. 😂
I love this Brown episode!
Next year's project for me is a guest bedroom with orange. Can you do a video for orange, please?
Orange is a natural progression from brown! 🙌🏻🍂🍁🤎
I love my chocolate brown leather sofa and wooden furniture. My contrast fall color cushions are in tones of sand, burgundy, and matte gold. The only thing I cannot get behind is a brown bathroom, it reminds me too much of poop on the wall.
Would u keep traditional brown baseboards or white?
Depends on the stain. If the baseboard is already natural wood, I would strip it and stain to my desired hue. If it’s paint-grade MDF that was painted brown, definitely paint another color. White is ok if that’s the consistent trim color you already have in the home. If not, why not try color!?! (Watch my color playlist for more inspiration 😉)
On one of your videos I saw I laughed budda beautiful.
Could you let me know where to buy🙏
Thank you! It’s from HomeGoods over a decade ago if you can believe it- they actually have a decent assortment sometimes
This is the budda I love 💕 it where I can buy 🙏🙏🙏
I picked this up at HomeGoods and blessed by my master! 😍
I have at least 30% brown in all of my living spaces, mixed with greens, rusts and creams with the odd pop of colours., including cognac . The thought of painting a beautiful dark oak piece of furniture a garish colour is horrifying.
Please do Zebra print
Do orange.
Banked! 🧡
Let’s be honest brown is the color of 🧸
I see the beautiful tapestry as the focal point so why block it with a gaudy sofa facing away? I’d prefer 2 leather arm chairs there so you can circulate around, and a more dignified couch elsewhere with a view of that wall.
I definitely agree, but scale is everything. I bet it was too short to make a statement so they chose behind the sofa instead. Still makes quite an impact ⚡️
Do decorating with red/burgundy
Red is hot!!! I’m lining it up! ❤️
❤❤❤
🤎🤎🤎 Happy Sunday Grace!
I noticed interior designer based on North America - Canada rarely mentioned brand like Jotun or Dulux. Why?
I have never heard of Jotun, but I’ve used Dulux. I’m biased tho- I love Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Behr Marquee, F&B. Really just depends on the room and application, but if you find a color you love- any paint vendor can color match it 👍
PURPLE? Pls!?
Saved! 💜
Chocolate eclair.😅
Wood furniture and picture frames and fake cowhyde rug and bedroom carpet laminate "wood" floor. Never taught about brown as a color. For me it always ended up in same category as black white grey and beige. As something that grounds the area and then comes the "real" colours as blue green and so on
brown is in the category of neutral colors.
its not about brown everywhere lol its about modern contemporary with neiges..taupes...golds..creams....a statement coffee chocolate wall....taupe sofas....oatmeal/mink carpet/////japandi and stuff......all that dark brown just doesnt fit lolol
Brown wood and fabric-yes! Brown paint- no. Loses the natural warmth of the outdoors and too often looks like, shall I say it, poo. 😮
It might not surprise you, but it does me! What is this? 1970? Next, you're going to tell us that shag carpeting is making a comeback! SMH - No!
Haha that’s next for Design Trends to WATCH for in 2025!! (kidding! Or not?)🤣
