Marty Music I have 2 amps, a fender champion 40 watt and a fender deluxe 90 watt. They are both pretty good I do find with the 90 watt fender it's harder to get the tone, as even small adjustments make such a big difference compared with the 40 watt. but it sounds so awesome when you get the tone you want.
ps keep up the great work
Love my make V, the crunch channel alone is worth the price alone.
why are you wearing a hat inside, you fucking idiot
LOL. You definitely are not a metal player. Those settings on channel 3 are so unorthodox. Also, TWEED bro. The Tweed of the clean channel sings.
The color on that Gibson is just beautiful.
I wouldn't put my boogie mk V on a rickety drum stool
Roses?
i would put it on my penis
Yeah, 65 lbs - at $2,749 in - 2019.
Should be fine unless the stool is wobbly. The weight distro is likely fine too.
Harvey Scott slow your roll buddy roll this man is a god among men. Do not disrespect him
I was actually looking for a solid Mesa amp demo. This is solid, and I trust the player. Funny though, how simply leaning forward and blocking a mic from picking up the amp totally changes the tone! All the tone chasing in the world but all it takes is a mic moved an inch and it all gets warped.
At 6:30 he starts playing finally.
There's a lot of amp going on in the mark v. A lot of history as well. I thought he did a great job with the demo.
Yeah, have some patience if you really want some insight. Otherwise, just look for a TikTok video.
needed this
Thanks
You don’t need to watch, you know.
Mesa is truly a Pro amp. Bulletproof and can handle any type of music.
Sounds great Marty!
100% agree. I've had rect-o-verb 50 combo for going on 20 years. Absolutely rock solid amplifier. A mark v combo just showed up used locally for seriously cheap. Hopefully, it'll be in my possession by the end of the weekend 😁
Best demo I've seen of this combo. You rock, Marty!
Man Your videos are so good ! Respect what you do !! Keep it up ! You help learn to play guitar like 3 or 4 years ago and I can't thank you enough for your videos !
THAT IS THE BEST COMBO AMP EVER MADE.........................................
I have a Mess Rectiverb 25 combo that I think is just as good. I originally had the Rectoverb 25 head & 2 mini Mesa Rec cabs but I had to pay property taxes so I sold it all. When it was time to 'who's up agaun, I tried this amp & a few others. I bought the Rectoverb 25 combo & could be hap pier. (:
@@Jacen13 good stuff, anything mesa makes is top notch, ive never seen or read a negative review on anything they make........
Yes, they will have to pull mine from my cold, dead hands.
that amp is a little better than my 3 watt blackstar.
it better be since it costs almost 3k new!
@@GuitarsAndSynths some models run close to 5k. The head version is 2400 to 2800 without speakers lol I'm gonna pick one up next friday.
🤣🤣🤣
Great demo Marty! I like the way you broke it down and simplified it!
Best explanation of this amp (my amp), as you might expect! Thanks, Marty - answered my questions in one short video. 👏👏👏🎸🤠
Nice demo in-depth and great choice of amp always wanted to go through a mark 5 thanks Marty love the vids peace bro
Probably your best clip ever! Thanks for that. Chapeau!
Here it is again, the most beautiful strat in the universe.
Bruno Ramos /
Wierd how people are different. In my opinion its a f...in ugly guitar :)
Just miss mn neck
Looks ready for the dumpster
Love it Marty - thank you. Been researching for weeks. Best video so far. Good work.
Dream amp for me. Loaded with features, sounds amazing. John Petrucci turned me on to Boogie.
No entiendo todo, chico. Pero me gusta como le haces. Ya he visto muchos videos tuyos...y continuo mirando...Siempre muy instructivos y agradables. Thank you very much !!!
You're the best guitar salesman on You Tube! Thanks for the Explanation... Just ordered the Mesa Boogie Mark V 35 Combo.... (not as many features, but.....)
I love this amp! Been watching you a long time now, keep up the great work !!! Thanks for this one! Btw..a built in boost is a home run!!!!
The simplest and best overall review of Mark V. I believe I watched them all, if not almost all.
Ah, the never ending knob turning quest of a Mesa owner... :)
Ha!! I do enough knob fiddling with my F50 I can't imagine the time I'd waste with the Mark V's tonal tweaking options.
...but once you get it,it is bliss
I've had a rect-o-verb 50 for 20 years and added a roadster to the mix a few years ago. The knob spinning is definitely real. And the when you finally get it just right....mmmmmmm
Yup, I got this amp 6 months ago, still fiddling. Amazing tones so far, but it took a few weeks to figure out how to make it sound good.
thanks for a new vid Marty!
Great review Marty, with the wheels you can rock & roll.
More lessons on the "expensive" chords please.
ah ha ha
Very good tutorial, thank you !
I have the 30 watt on the way. I am so excited.
Great demo.
Great video. Thank you for this great channel!
Great video! Very cool! Merry Christmas!
Love your stuff Marty! Keep it up!
Thanks!
Thanks Marty! Just bought one and I am going to dial in your settings!
I've played through a lot of Mesa amps over the years. ALL of them were top notch. No exceptions.
Thx ,you made my evening.
Great amp. I have Mark Five head and 2x12 vertical metal grill cab with EVM12L and C90 speakers.
Crazy amount of bass in Mark I mode when bass knob is that high!
Great sound ,great player
Beautiful killer amp!!! I'll take that one jajaja I wish I can buy it someday, it's THE amp!!!
Nice one Marty ... great review and I love your stuff on your tutor site. Cheers buddy ... Ray.
Man a full size Mark V is my DREAM Amp! I bought a Mark V 25, and its an amazing amp........... But just not the same.
Thanks for the settings explanation i have a mark v combo it is a great amp but after about a month of use the amp blew a fuse in the middle of a gig got it fixed 2 months later the same thing happen .....have to say mesa has outstanding customer service there was no problem getting them on the phone the amp has 5 years warranty its only been a year so far lol...but its a kick ass amp for sure
That was fun to watch and hear.
Love it! Please samba pa ti. I have to learn it before September 👌👌
Excellent walk thru Marty! Been curious about this amp. I still prefer the crunch of the Mesa Boogie Double and Triple Rectifier however for modern metal stuff.
Nice demo. I bought a new .50 Cal around 1992. Versitile, loud and heavy. Sold it 20 years later when I went digital. Not quite as authentic as the real thing, but amazingly close without the weight or maintenance.
Awesome AMP!!! Holy Crap!!!
For those who don't need basic amp controls explained to them, He doesn't start playing until 6:30
man!! cool amps!!! is it the one that santana use?
nice amp! But can u do a tutorial on thunderstruck
Thank you Marty
not so early now! haha love you marty!
Maybe some Green Day or Cage the Elephant soon? :)
Marty, do a tube amp vs solid state amp demo please, it would be really helpful like this video!
Hey I was wondering if you could do a video on "Ventura Highway" by America it's a really good song
Would love to here this amp paired with some good humbuckers! The strat sounds great, though. You can really here that thing shine on the clean chanel.
Like you said, to each his own. For me simplicity is more important. I can get all the sounds I want by adding a few effects pedals.
That's kind of mediocre but if it's ok to you then...
i have a few grand and my wife’s blessing. should i get this or a kemper?
Nice amp marty how heavy is this amp ? Cool vid
I currently have a Dual Rect Roadster head and 2 speaker cab. I am moving to a townhome. Would this amp be a sufficient replacement to play at lower levels?
Is this a good amp for home use?
Man, my neighbors will LOVE that one!!! I already have 120 Watts transistor yamaha, 100 Watts transistor from BOSS and this one... man oh man - they will worship me :D they might even set some welcome fire! :D :D
Marty, good basic clean sound! Should I get this or the ML Deville? What are the pluses and minus of each? We play a lot of R&B, Pop, rock and soul? Your thoughts Marty!
Could you please do a lesson on the solo in Chris Stapleton's new song "I Was Wrong". I cannot find a lesson anywhere and I've been looking for a couple months. Thank you!
could u please do a lesson "walt grace submarine 1967" by John mayer? can't find any good lessons out here on The tube!!!!!
I was just playing through mine. Thanks for helping me understand all these damn knobs and switches. Did you ever make a video on the EQ?
Marty Music i picked up a mesa mkV in 2015 , combo and i love it but all those knobs and switches was confusing at first . I own a 1984 mesa mk2c+ basic model no eq or reverb and the thing is mint condition and i love it but i can do more with the mkV and use a smaller pedalboard .
Can you do Marshall code 50
Wow, you rock!
This amp was made for Humbuckers! Once you switched over it was amazing!! Great content
I agree the MK IV also.
Marty... Curious... how are you miking the amp for the video?
Great video. When you are adjusting your settings on your amp, is the volume setting on your guitars set at full then backed off as necessary? Same with using pedals, are you starting your pedal settings with your guitar volume on full? Same with guitar tone controls, are you starting with full, mid or off when starting with your initial settings?
I have noticed with my guitar pre-amp (Digitech Valve FX and and Control One foot controller), it doesn't seem to work correctly unless the guitar volume is always set to full, then adjust the volume level on the external pre-amp.
I pretty much always have my guitar turned all the way up!
Thanks.
johnwrench4speed sorry for meddling in. I don't have a mesa but I have a valve fx and your output volume will never sound right unless you have the guitar volume all the way up because of the noise gate as your volume pot works with the pick ups impendance (or the circuit gain If you will) low gain will not allow enough impendance to flow through the noise gate hence you only get a weird kind of almost inteemitent sound throughout. You can have your noise gate set to a lower presence or turn that effect off completely but with distortion/overdrive it causes a bit of unwanted noise
Nice Guitar
When does the space shuttle take off?
Do you think you could do a video on comparing distortion pedals? I'm looking to buy one and don't really know which one I want.
Derek Norris BOSS DS-1 for distortion and BOSS BD-2 for overdrive
Ibanez tube screamer TS808 or TS10 for classic tones (I haven’t tried a TS9)
Okay Marty cover VOXAC15 or 30... or discuss what is TOP BOOST?
Hi Marty how about demoing the boss js10 b cool if you could thanks
Hey Marty, Great Video. I want one of these. By the way can you get your hands on a V-Twin Pedal and do a video of this? All the videos for the V-Twin on youtube at the moment are a bit poor. I have a V-Twin and a MK1 Hughes and Kettner Tubeman and I can get great tones with ease with the tubeman but I find the V-Twin very frustrating. Most of the settings are very muddy even with a variety of tubes and single coils. I find I need an MXR dynacomp and a Rangemaster treble booster and Tubescreamer to get the tones that the tubeman gets out of the box. The V-Twin just looks bad ass though i don't have the heart to sell it so if you can find out how to get the best out of it I would be most pleased.
this is cool
I have never seen someone who has the graphic EQ, not use the graphic EQ. It adds a whole new dimension to the Mark series. I have a mkiii and iv and I don't think I could use the lead channel without the G.EQ. Is this how you normally gig with the V? Obviously there is no right or wrong way. Just wondering. You have a lot more gain on tap with that G.EQ too.
I want a white one with the basket style grill cover. That's my dream amp. Maybe chuck in an 0.5W mode.
Nice amp
I like how the mark series has a clear/tight distortion instead of something like the recto which seems to have a fuzzier distortion at times.
joseph smith yea they really benefit from a tubescreamer though, tightens up the low end.
@@danim5881 Back when I was lucky to have a Road King, my tube screamer helped fix the loose low end. I though, how sad, this $3300 amp still needs a tube screamer.
Hey Marty, Marty here. Can you do a lesson on a bit of Maiden, maybe a bit of Priest?
Dream amp :-)
This is the best presentation I have seen on an amp. So, one question, I just want to confirm; this amp at 90 watts can be played at bedroom volumes?
For sure.
Marty. Thanks for the great content. I would like to see you dial in a good Santana tone with the Les Paul on the Mark V.
It’s just way more amp than I have the patience for! Actually I’ve got the TA15 and I’m drooling for the California Tweed. Doesn’t matter what I get…I’ll eventually want something else. I’m pathetic!
12:32 SRV's Cold Shot kinda jammin' over there. Love the sound of Mesas. Mostly the Mark V. But lets not forget that the one playing is the most important element of all that. Your playing is amazing. Keep it up.
my dad has a mesa and i saw the factory and took a tour of where they are made and met the people who made the amp.
I've been a Mesa owner for 20 years. I'd love to see the factory someday
Hi marty do you think that we can obtain santana s sound with this ampli ?
Hell of an amp. Wish I could afford one but it ain't gonna happen.
Want this
I wanted this or a Mark 4. But got a S O B instead. Much easier to play with. 7 knobs no confusion. All them knobs ,all them controls. Don't get me wrong. These are awesome. Just always need to learn each control over again. Cause when you move 1 it changes what the 1 behind it does. Especially in the E Q part. In a way mine does the same thing. There's just only so few changes I can make finding my fav sounds.
Ever since I heard the dude from the Outfield, John Spinx I think? I believe he cranked out the Your Love main riff with a stratocaster and a mesa boogie is that right? Anyways, he had such great tone on that lick, I've been researching what he was using.
Ok Marty because you asked.... Id love to see my vids that dmonstrate the WHY certain amp and guitar combos or picup combos result in a certain sound. Such as a fener strat played through a __ and a __ played through a __ and why that HELPS create a certain well known artists sound. Id find that interesting and helpful
I love Marshall and Mesa Boogie amps. Worth saving up for a nice one.
Marty can you recommend me a good tube amp combo under $1000? I play hard rock and grunge mostly
This is really helpful. I just unboxed a bad lander and it’s my first tube amp ever. I am not well versed on this stuff and considering I sold 6 of my children into slavery to purchase this thing (all 6 were girls but still it was a high price to pay as I am just a hobby guitarist of 3 months now)… I would like to get many years of heavy crunch from it.
Do you still have this amp? I got a deal on a 25 watt combo, so I took the dive. So far I love it, but it definitely takes some more dialing in than most amps. Haven't really loved the Xtreme setting, it feels like it lacks cojones compared to the IIC+, Mark IV or even the Crunch setting with the gain cranked. Actually the crunch mode with the gain fully up, low bass, a bit of a mid push and a shallow V is my favorite setting on the amp. The 25 watt doesn't have the solo knob, variac setting or any preset EQ, etc.
f*cking insane ! gg bro thx
TOP VIDEO !!!!
Is the second / mid channel similar to an AC30?
Marty! MARTY! HEY MARTY! TAKE THAT AMP OFF THAT STOOL BEFORE IT FALLS OFF!!
