Tigist Assefa is not only an outstanding runner. She also cuts a very good figure outside the running track. One would almost say: She also feels comfortable on stage. And also as a brand ambassador for her sponsors. The cheerful way she kissed her shoes after the race and stretched them to the sky: priceless! You also often experience a striking distance between the runners from Kenya and Ethiopia. However, her wide eyes when she learns that a few more photos are to be taken with Eliud Kipchoge and her subsequent fooling around with him on stage showed a completely different side. She is a personality. She can become a great one in every respect.
There are a lots of things to think about in Ethiopia and never pay attention for anything else othere than freedom for those suffering. However, I can't hide that I was chocked in tears seeing the victory of Tigst represented her nation. Congratulations to her and others and thanks to the country that hosted the competition. I wish you to you all a brighter future.

Is it just women or Africans who have a double handed two handed gesture of thanking, greeting with their heart and body! (For women knee bends/curtsy’s slightly). The man were the same but one! Not sure about other cultures will have to see on presentations! It’s such a beautiful thing to see for us who understand that’s it’s about complete gratitude not deserving gratitude - one handed “well done mate - yeah mate I nailed it right!”! Can you Not wait until all the runners have finished? In essence having the podium states the Marathon is basically over. Not for me! The marathon is over when my amazing Daughter in law crosses the finish line. She has 2 hrs to go🎉🎉.
