I recently discovered that there was a rift between General Lee and President Davis. It was centered about the French and British clams to lands should the Confederate States sin the Civil War, France and The British were going to split the Union states among them. Lee hated this idea Therefore it could explain why the far more competent General Lee, made what appeared to be military blunders, starting with Gettysburg and there after. It could have been his intent to loose the war to prevent the French and British from gaining a large foot hold in America, which would obviously threaten the success of the Confederate States as well. Lee would have known it better to keep the nation, than to win the war and loose the nation to the French and British.
That’s what’s up Yo! Sounds like sweet spot! I beg to differ on the fishing weight! I can add that to my other weight you found last year. I enjoyed that everyone came away with alittle something. “You only get one chance, so you got to make the best of it!” Amen! Keep walking and digging Yo! Happy Easter!
Quite the hunt! Thank you for sharing your adventures. We here in WV are just now starting to get out and hitting the fields & woods. One of my friends dug a shield like the one you all dug. He found it in Jackson County, WV.
awesome! hope you guys hit that location hard! obviously more good finds in the ground waiting to be found and saved! always been a fan of trench art. during ww1 items made out of the bronze driving bands are prevalent as well as incised and engraved shell casings. there was a whole cottage industry making souvenirs for the soldier boys. german pows made stuff to trade for food and tobacco. the " got mit uns" roundel from german ww1 belt buckles proved such a popular decoration for trench art that french factories started producing them!!! imagine that! french factories were making this insignia of their enemy because it proved so popular! walt disney even worked painting camo helmets and adding faux "battle damage" lol.
Hey Walker congrats to the finds outstanding! I know you told me to be patient on the mail and it would be worth the wait I just can not wait! Thank you for you for the lesson and Happy Easter! Christ has risen! ✝
Hey man! I'm sorry, Easter week is a busy time, and I'm late filing my taxes! But I'll tell you what - these relics waited 160 years for you, you're going to have to wring your hands for a few more days . . . !

@@thebattlefieldwalker2841 don't know. My Great Grandfather Lee Wyatt moved from Williamsburg Kentucky to Danville IL.. There was a fire at the Whitley County Courthouse in the 1930s that destroyed many of the records of birth, marriage, and death. If he talks to much then probably 😂
Yeah Walker the trench art items are very special and deserves a case of their own. The coolest one ive ever seen is a cannon carved from a mini ball, absolutely perfect cannon. Speaking of Posie rings i found my first one several weeks ago at a 1600's site, and ive been detecting 50 yrs! Probably my favorite find ever. Thanks for your videos, you keep it real and every day is great when youre able to dig...HH
Agreed Gary. Since you've been in it so long, you know a guy I knew in my childhood, Mac Mason. He had a perfectly carved casket (We assume out of a sabot) with a working lid. Inside the casket was a pig! It was beautiful work! But what do you suppose THAT was about?!
@thebattlefieldwalker2841 I knew of Mr. Mason, a legend amongst relic hunters along with Gene Cooley. I wish I had seen that piece and what in the world was the meaning behind such a thing, just makes you wonder huh?
That's one thing, sadly I CAN'T do, George. I was a guest on this one, and the permissions I have, I'm not allowed to bring guests. There are a couple where we ALL have individual permissions, but we're not allowed to invite. I'm sorry man. It's a struggle to secure permissions without personal relationships.
