The legendary, giving, caring, talented and humble as always Kid Capri...had to watch this again. Thanks Math and crew for this great episode!! Now let me go play some slow jams...
I remember when the DJ's used to specifically have a set strictly for slow dancing... they would be like "I'm about to slow this party down fellas find a lady and ladies find a man and get on the dance floor to get it on"... that's how a lot of 90's babies are here now. DJing is completely different from then
We can change the world if we flow our energy differently. I like the idea of supporting people doing good in the world and highlighting that instead of giving negative things so much energy. It will really make a difference and you have the power to start that movement with your platform.
It's true I remember once time at the EPMD comeback show in BBKings they wouldn't let kid Capri in at the front door they didn't know who he was at the door the Youngins. He was like what I helped make this place call the owner an hour later he was on stage for his shout-out in the song Crossover! They saw then he's a new York Legend.
Hoffa , thank you for sharing this amazing interview with Kid Capri. These are the things, the DJ's of today need to hear. I remember back in the early 80s when the DJ would practice at home all week , looking for ways to Rock a Party. In the the old days ( Rock a Party ) meant every body was on the dance floor, nobody was sitting down. And yes the walls were very sweaty . The DJ had that much control of the party because he knew his choice of music. He practice all week. I have much more to say but anyway . Thanks Hoffa great great work. And my last party was maybe 1983 I think !! DJ Jungle

You guys are making waves. You're going to start getting mainstream artists soon that will boost your numbers even more! I know you guys are fine without them but everything grows and you guys are a big voice in hip hop as a unit that deserves the same platform that some of these corporate funded podcast get. This podcast is authentic and goes to certain levels the mainstream platforms can't go. With a lot of artist choosing to stay independent or atleast owning their masters its allowing them to move more freely so they want to go to podcast like this that actually make an impact on the culture instead of pleasing Radio stations with payola for spins
