I hate the city I live in. It's so cold here. Every time I go to walk it feels like walking in Antarctica. I wish I was born in Portugal so I could walk every day as long as I want just wearing a t-shirt.

Why does it look like Portugal is using 100 year old trams that other EU countries had 100 years ago? I keep hearing people say the transit there is subpar to other EU countries and that worries me a bit if considering relocating. One expat said that the transit really frustrated her, because sometimes it just was late or never even showed up.
The trams look old because they are old. maybe not a 100 years but they are old. then again, it is one of the oldest cities on earth and it still stands to this day. To us Portuguese there is nothing wrong in using old things. If it is not broke why fix it? Sometimes the trams do run a little late but they always show up. If you want cold, robotic punctuality in transport (and society in general) then perhaps Portugal is not for you. If you want a peaceful, beautiful life at a slower pace that works just fine then please come.

There's modern trams too, it's just the ones that go up and down hill on the city centre are old.
I think it's a symbol of the Lisbon, so they will run another 100 years 😀 By the way I love them ❤️
