Poor mine planning there. Bence should be wide enough for double-side loading so the shovel can reach peak cycle times without having to hang wait for a long reverse run on a single truck.
I will say this, that driver could’ve definitely made a turn inside the candle sticks, but not all drivers. Are that good for some reason regardless of their training. that 97 shovel was a good shovel. It got buried in the main Fay slide and we had to dig it out piece by piece.
I'd say there chasing ore the way it's set up and they don't have much choice. That mines been in operation more than long enough they wouldn't make mistakes like that without some good reasons.
And your a shovel operator for which mine? If you were one you'd already know that they don't make shovels large enough to load that size of truck in two passes. His swing radius is that large because of the waste rock on the outside of the blasted material. Because of the layout I'd say there chasing ore and don't have much choice until that bench advances a bit more. With a narrow dig face like that and no room for loading both sides the operator has to constantly remove material so the shovels counterweight doesn't hit while rotating that far to load the truck.
@@turningpoint6643 They do actually make shovels big enough to 2 pass load a 793. P&H makes the 4100XPC at 120 tons per pass, and the 4800XPC at 135 tons per pass. Cat makes the 7495 at 120 tons per pass. Since this is only a 240 ton truck, it would be very possible to load it in two passes. Oh, and I am a shovel operator, in Northern Canada.
I think it's too far to reverse loading, maybe the loading area can be improved so it can save maneuvering time.
Must be training, if bucket presented like that you can go through cable arch to reverse under bucket. Had plenty of room fit two 797 in there.
Is the guy with the camera pissed !!??

Que.belleza de forma de rec9ger el.cobre.
Very smooth operator...that must be at least a 30 yard bucket..
50-60 yards. About 120 tons per pass.
@@turningpoint6643 It's only a C model, not an XPC, so about 90 tons per pass.
Como puede haber produccción en esa mina con esa pasta!!
Camera motion made me sea sick
Entirely too slow operation for my taste.
Camera person very confused.

Should be 2 sided loading, plus cable stands are in the way of the operation, way too long backing up to the shovel.

Caterpillar rules the earth 🌍
Thats too far. 😂
Thats not how we do at coal mining.
that shovel operator is not good lasts a long time loading that truck must be loaded with two passes that shovel for that is designed
ah yes, very good English
@@gm08351 but he has a point. Operation is too slow
Caterpillar has worked out the most efficient loading is between 2 and 4 passes, so at 3 passes this loading cycle is ideal.

Could be much more efficient..too much backing up for the trucks
