    Sorry for the low lighting quality, guys. I can try to fix it in post and reupload. However, future videos will be done on the board better, explaining different functionality (with better lighting)!

      Thanks! Absolutely, I'm trying my best to help. So far, I'm loving this board. However, it gets a little hard wrapping my head around all it can do. There are definitely a lot more videos coming soon to better help people with the Fantom 0 workstations!

    If you download any of the Roland Cloud stuff onto the Fantom-0, like the Juno 106, does it have DRM that locks you out of the content until you authenticate on your laptop?

    • @GammaLensMedia
      @GammaLensMedia  5 місяців тому

      From what I can tell anything you put into the board will stay on there. As long as you have your expansions downloaded on your computer there's not an authentication needed for the board.

    Great video. Seems like there are some differences between the Fantom-0 and the Fantom there. We don't have the things like Control and other things on the left side, but I think we have more dedicated knobs and buttonso n the right side for that. The way I read it is that a scene is a blank copy of your fantom. each scene can indeed have it's own set of sounds in the zones and also it's set of settings for MIDI controls, it's own patterns, groups, song, ...

      Yeah, I was looking at the Flagship Fantom, and it looks pretty hefty. Probably a lot more workstation style features with more onboard control.
      That's actually a great way to think about scenes! Basically, blank slates of the board like a new project in a DAW. All changes can be saved into 1 scene.

      Have you upgraded to the EX version on the fantom?

      I was just curious. I believe its Fantom only not the 0 Series. But I was curious if it was any good of an update for the Fantom. @@Letstalkgaming

      @@gothamstudiosnetwork1206 it is indeed only for the Fantom, not the 0 series. It does add a few things, but I had already bought the n/zyme engine before, so for me it's only the new ABC models that would be new. Might buy it and install it this weekend.

    Question for you. So im thinking about buying a korg pa5x strictly for the third party world instruments. Right now i use boom box speakers thats powered by an amp and connected with an aux cable in my pc. So Do i need an interface to use the internal sounds of the korg with fl studio?
    Second question is, what if i just use the midi usb port to get the midi from the korg then convert that in to audio so i dont have to buy an interface to get audio from the keyboard or an interface is a must regardless of how you look at it?

    • @GammaLensMedia
      @GammaLensMedia  5 місяців тому

      This is a tricky one as I'm not too familiar with the Korg Pa5x. However, the real question is how you intend in using it. Are you trying to build a hybrid setup where you can record both hardware and DAW vsts together in FL Studio?
      If so, you're going to have to have a way to get the audio from the board into the computer. The easiest way will be an audio interface. Even more important/easier is an audio interface with midi ins and outs in the interface. That way, you can sync the clock and send midi information back and forth from your DAW into the Korg.
      The fantom does have a way to use it as an interface. However, it's limited and now that I have more than 1 piece of hardware equipment in my studio.
      However, most of these boards are built with arrangers inside of them. They do have a learning curve, though some take a few days, and some take a few months to really learn.
      I always look at the long term for how I make music, and a DAW is my main station. Everything else is being added to that workflow.
      Some Arrangers have a way to export audio onto a USB drive or something like that but that adds an extra step that might not have the best results or workflow.
      Just depends on how you want to have everything setup.

      for now i dont care about 99.9% of what the korg can you bc i never had a keyboard work station. I never saw the point in it bc i cant put it in a back pack and travel with. How ever, you just cant beat the oriental middle eastern sounds they make for it. Not even with third party kontakt libraries.
      So what i want to do is, be able to do is use the internal third party sounds from the keyboard in my own beats. Both as audio and midi. Both are possible 1 is just couple more extra steps than the other. But my main concert was to learn if id still get sound from the keyboard with the set up i have now.
      Right now i have a lepaid stereo Class T Digital Audio Amplifier to power the speakers. It has the right and left speaker outs and audio in. I had purchased a 2 in 1 aux cable from radio shack long time ago, 1 end is the audio in with right and left the other end is the aux head 3.5 headphone jack tip. So i plug that end in to my computers audio plug and get the sound from the my daw/computer that way.
      Since you have lot of hardware i figure id ask you. Thank you for the responce by the way. Very helpful.

      @ottomanbeatsofficial OK I would say my worry is 2 things. 1st audio quality. When running into my interface, I'm running 2 balanced 1/4 cables from my external gear into 2 1/4 inputs on my interface. Every board has different requirements. However, unbalanced cables with my USB hooked up from my board into my computer was causing a bad hum loop. I dont know how good of audio youll get running into your amp. 2nd, which I was having major issues with at first is latency. An audio interface with the computer has ways to adjust latency that you might run into when sending midi information back and forth from your DAW to the board. Hybrid setup gave me a massive headache initially. I spent a lot of time getting all the settings right.
      I started with pawn a pawn shop piece of equipment first (the Juno G)$200 bucks. Just to make sure I liked the process of a hybrid setup first. (I would hate for you to spend that kind of money on the Korg and hate the process). Once I got the groove of it, I was more confident in purchasing something more expensive.
      I would highly recommend something like the scarlett 8i6, or similar. It has plenty of ins and outs, and midi din in and out of you do pull the trigger on purchasing the board.
      I plan on making a video showing how I have my hybrid setup this week. Maybe it might shine some light on the pros and cons.
      I hope this helps!

      thats my other concern. Which is why im doing all the research i can before pulling the plug. so if i get an interface would i be able to use the keyboard and my midi keyboard at the same time or is it easy to swtich between them? bc The korg wont be leaving my desk at all.
      Thank you again. Ill make sure to check out that video when it drops@@GammaLensMedia

      @ottomanbeatsofficial You can definitely use multiple devices as midi controllers. I am currently using up to 6 different midi controllers on my current setup. I can use the Fantom, Arturia 88, Novation SLMKIII, Push 2, maschine Studio, and another small Novation Controller. I prefer this because I enjoy working away from the computer as much as possible. However, depending on your interface. You can only use audio sources from the number of hardware equipment outs/ins depending on how many audio inputs on the interface you chose. So if you purchase an audio interface with 2 1/4 inch inputs you can only use 1 hardware synth at a time (1 input for left 1 input for right) to record sterio audio from your board. It's just something to keep in mind. However, you can always upgrade the interface or get a mixing board later if you want more analog instruments.
      Absolutely, the video will be out soon!

    Not sure why you chose a dark room with other devices turned on and lit that have nothing to do with the Fantom? I can't see the panel and I am using a 24 inch monitor screen. If you are using a 2nd camera for the Fantom display, then use the exposure settings on the camera for the light difference so you can properly light up the panel. IF you are using just one camera I understand, can't get the lighting for both panel and display to work.

      Unfortunately when I filmed I was stuck with 1 camera. Iso setting was blowing out the screen,too bright, and I had to settle in between settings to keep the screen visible. It looked visible until YT crunched it down. I'm definitely not recording tutorials at night with this board again, lol. Hard part is YT got rid of any contrast settings in their editor so if I pull the video down fix then re-upload it'll definitely kill the video......
      Big debate on re doing or fixing in post and re-uploading it.
