    Waterville is an incredibly penal course, very intimidating and I have yet to play it on a calm day. On one occasion I hit a 5i from 120yrds, I normally hit a wedge that distance. Still my favorite course. Sur twould be no fun if it was easy.😂😂

    Excellent video. I may have crossed paths with you on this trip. I was in Ballybunion on July 3, before heading to Adare Manor to watch Rory, Tiger, and the rest at the PJ McManus Pro-Am. I stayed in Lahinch on July 4 &5. I think those two played at Ballybunion the day after. You're right about Dooks. Great views and an underrated course. I also like to stay in Dingle and play Ceann Sibeal, another underrated course, when I go to Ireland.

      We might have. It was a great time to go there. Great weather and less American tourist made getting last minute tee times better.

      @@thebossgolfs Yes. I usually go in April to avoid as many American golfers on tour busses as I can (usually with a good bit of success). The July trip was a short one with friends to go to the Pro-Am. After our first day, the weather was really good.

    Great videos and beautiful drone footage of your travels. Going on a family trip to Ireland in late May. Playing Mt. Juliet, Killarney Golf and Fishing, Trump Doonbeg, and Lahinch. Would play more, but it's a family trip : )

      Thank you. I was suppose to play Killarney but ran out of time and didn't want to miss my flight. Killarney is a very cool town, especially at night music playing from every pub and everyone having a great time. Enjoy the trip let me know how it goes.

      @@thebossgolfs Gotcha, yeah I'm going with a big group so made sense for us to use Killarney as a base for a couple nights so their is plenty to do for all and Killarney G&F is the closest to get a round in. Looks very scenic and former Irish Open course, but the competition is fierce in SW Ireland, lol. I'll save some of the more famous ROK Links for another trip! Will do!

    Really great comment about local knowledge at Lahinch! Yeah, the blind shots on the front 9 are getting to get you if you dont know where exactly you should be aiming. It's the one thing that places Ballybunion over Lahinch for me. Tell us, did you play straight off the overnight flight into Shannon, or did you take a day off first? Greetings from Limerick!

      @thebossgolfs  Рік тому

    Can you wear sneakers on courses there in Ireland? To walk I do not think there is a pair of golf shoes comfortable enough for me

    • @thebossgolfs
      @thebossgolfs  Рік тому +1

      Yes, comfortable sneakers are allowed. Ireland for the most part has a perfect golf culture that is more the every man then other countries. Especially since you will be walking find the best shoes that work for you and won't hurt the course. I would say make sure they have a little traction so they don't slip going up and down dunes and also make sure they are waterproof because you almost never stop golfing because of weather. I would recommend Footjoy Pro SL or Puma Proadapt or ignite shoes. They are great. Also best tip I give people have a fresh pair of shoes for each 18 and a fresh pair of socks for every nine if you are walking multiple 36 hole days it will save your feet

    How did you get approval for drones? Is it allowed? And how can I contact the person who did it? We’re headed there in May

    • @thebossgolfs
      @thebossgolfs  Рік тому

      Ireland is apart of the EU and they have a temporary license you can get (short test). Search droning in Ireland and use the official Ireland government page. Then ask the courses some might okay

    Did you prefer the southwest or northwest courses?

    • @thebossgolfs
      @thebossgolfs  Рік тому

      I prefer my trip from last year which was the northeast, North and northwest. I would prefer to play the northwest with Carne, Enniscrone, St. Patrick's, Donegal + over the southwest slightly. But you really can't go wrong anywhere. I would prefer the southwest over the north even thought it has Royal Portrush (my favorite in Ireland) and Royal County.

    • @ads5113
      @ads5113 Рік тому

      @@thebossgolfs Thanks! My dad has golfed the Southwest a few times and was a little unfamiliar with the Northwest courses. I convinced him to change it up, and we leave next week for Carne, Enniscrone, St Patrick Links, Sandy Hills, Glashedy, Portstewart, and Portrush (my first trip to Ireland). Can't wait!

    • @thebossgolfs
      @thebossgolfs  Рік тому +1

      Your trip is going to feel more like an adventure than a planned golf package to the southwest and I think the courses are better and more extreme in layout in a good way. Enjoy. If you remember come back and comment what you and your dad think of the trip

      Wishing you the best weather possible. Always have weather gear even on a perfect day and clear forecast. From my time in Ireland, Scotland and England I find that nothing really sticks around long so if it does get bad just try to wait it out. I did a video a while back but the best tip I tell people is have two good rain gear set ups, bring a fresh pair of socks for every round and at least three pairs of shoes. switch socks and shoes between rounds. Also if you got space bring a massage gun and a foam roller. It's a lot of golf and it can build up. If you are staying anywhere near Killarney save time to walk around in the evening and enjoy the pubs and music very good vibes
