Those funny cars and dragsters were definitely cool, and I could not even imagine sitting that close to the rear end. But I have to say, it was that 72 Vega wagon that really caught my eye. From the color, to the wheels and tires, to the BBC with tunnel ram with dual Holleys. That was just perfect. Oh and I even have that same diamond interior, in my Gasser. Thanks for the video
That model T base race car is so cool I hope somebody buys it and gives it the love it deserves. And what's not to like about a V8 Vegas station wagon.
Back in high school a friend of mine and I dropped a 350 in his Vega it took us the whole school year to get it running this was back in the early 70's ! I lost track of him after graduation and went to college not sure what he did after graduation ! Thank you for bring back great memories from those days ! It was orange also !
That Vega Wagon is a bad ass car that's for sure it looks mint condition and that dash looks like it was brand new not to mention what it has between the fenders
Back in high school in 1975 I remember auto shop and the teacher there had a Vega and everybody worked on it it was a drag racing car and that orange Vega reminded me of that. 😊😊
I wish you and your dad could get that old dragster your old buddy Jim had put together with some kinda engine to do a cackle with it would be cool and way to remember him. I know it's to far gone to race but it could still cackle away
The dude in my hometown in s.w. Virginia with the big block Vega twisted the unibody up so bad that it wouldn't drive straight anymore. This also happened on a healthy 400 small block Vega. Don't think they knew about sub frame connectors but me being a Mopar type, I knew about them but later on. This was early 80s and I was a youngin
Hell yea Tommy always good just got me a couple carbs lol 2 450 holleys like new for $200 then sold me 2 600 for $60 lol hard to pass up deals sometimes lol
I remember the perdome skull bandit yeah that car was wicked back then it's probably just as wicked now I'd love to hear it fire up better yet I'd love to drive it just once even a little bitty just a tap on the throttle behind the steering wheel that's all I would want
That's definitely a Holden monaro car that was built in Australia here and it's gotten converted into a GTO Pontiac and there is a lot of Holden cars in America altogether there even Holden Utes because I am a proud Australian citizen born
At 2:37 there's an intake where the carb is setting at a slight angle instead of straight. I've seen these before. Can anyone tell me the reason for that
A couple of different companies made a similar intake in the mid late 1960's one was called a side winder it was so the runners were straighter than a average intake eldebrock original torque r intake didn't have as much offset but the problem was with ac and other bracket it was hard to have room for all the add on it was at the time for circle tracks both asphalt and dirt
Just before commerce drag way was sold to developers 5 or 6 front engine dragster came and run in the open vantage class and 160 plus some were 200 two had 427 sohc the other one 426 and some 392 it was amazing the driver had to actually drive the shit out of it to get it through the lights it was more or less kept on the down low test n tune at a swap since it is sold to asshat developers it doesn't matter now as developers only have hundreds of millions of dollars I am sure they need a lot more.
You know there was a dragster that had Corvette valve covers on it okay and they were chrome plated now I have had a set of them before several sets believe it or not but I find it hard to believe that he's running them valve covers because you got to stop and think okay if you run a big cam like anything over like a 508 or something cuz it was a small block Chevy the rockers are going to hit the inside of the valve covers when you run a tall cam so he must not have been running that big of a camshaft I'm not putting the car down no beautiful car beautiful dragster I'm just saying it he couldn't have had that big of a camshaft in there because it would hit the valve covers

The dipstick is always on the driver side when I’m driving
As long as you aren't a quart low.
*I always have to pull it out of my rear end...*

I never get tired of hearing a high powered V-8 being fired up and running. That was way cool!!!!

That old sprint car is awesome. Would love to have it in my collection of dirt cars. Great video. Ron
Oh man. You had what I did for about 10 days. I can hear it in ya as you speak. I don't wish it on anyone. It was rough.
I wish you and your dad could get that old dragster your old buddy Jim had put together with some kinda engine to do a cackle with it would be cool and way to remember him. I know it's to far gone to race but it could still cackle away
I've been in auto wreckers before I ever had a driver's license.
I could never get enough of rare automotive parts
Any car that has the skoal bandit on it is just badass

HEY!!!
You're in MY city! I'll be there all day Saturday! Trying to sell my 500 c.i. Cadillac engine and TH400 transmission.
Day two usually means stuff changed out on the original equipment, issued with the car ! This Vega did not come with a big block !!! ✔️🥴😎
New sub ! Liked 🙏😎🔥🤭

I'm sure there was a claim for better fuel distribution, but I think it was just a gimmick. Edelbrock Torker II is what it's called.
@@HotRodHoarder I tried looking it up didn't know brand and name. Cool I will do some research. Thanks

What a shame it's over 😭
