Trails of Gods - overlanding tour - Greece

The Pindos mountains make up the mountainous spine of western Greece, stretching all the way from the Albanian border to the Peloponese peninsula. These gorgeous mountains rise as high as 2637 m at the Smolikas peak, and due to being so rugged and rocky they're often called the Greek Alps. In this virtually unlimited exploration playground our 10-day Trails of Gods wild camping tours take place.

Well, that is highly dependent on the weather conditions, and it's impossible to tell in advance what they will be. In case some cold wave comes in, you can already expect snow in the higher mountains, but weather can be very bizzare lately. Last winter even the highest mountains throughout the Balkans were snowless and accessible in the first week of January, which was never before recorded. So you can try (but certainly equip your car/tent with some heating device!).

Is it possible to have the route you took? We were thinking of going there towards the end of March

No, unfortunately it's not. It's our business resource, we make a living by organizing these tours. You can book one of our tours at rustikatravel.com.
And, one more piece of advice - you simply cannot drive through the high mountains of the Balkans in March, it's physically impossible. At that time in many of them there's still several meters of snow. That's why we organize such tours only from July to October, and in the early season we stick to the mountains up to 1500 m of altitude.
