That is completely unnecessary, and only fills the fuselage up with water which then leaks out when you least expect it onto your fresh paint if you haven’t left it sit to dry out for a day or two. All that’s needed is a quick wipe down with isopropyl alcohol which evaporates in seconds prior to primer.
Whaaaaaaat?!? Noooo! Washing under running water, with completed cockpit?! There will be water inside the model?! This can affect the paint?! I wash the parts while still on the sprues with warm soapy water - then rinse in a vinegar solution… And finally - after construction, before painting, I wipe down with mineral spirits and a lint free wipe…

I dried 24hours after wash. I use this over 20years without trouble
I do this, but only with dishwash
